In the 1970s and 80s, spiritual leader (and talking head on In Search Of w/ Leonard Nimoy - one of the best TV shows of all time), Elizabeth Clare Prophet built a movement around the idea that sge was receiving messages from enlightened beings known as Ascended Masters.
At the center of those teachings was one of the most mysterious figures in occult history - The Count of Saint Germain.
Her grassroots organization (later called Church Universal and Triumphant) grew to become a massive spiritual community out in Montana preaching good vibes.
BUT, during the height of the Cold War, the messages she claimed to be reciving started to take a darker and more menacing turn...
