We all want to be known for something. But what do you do when you don’t measure up, even to your own standards? You’ll never become who you want to be until you are willing to face up to who you are. The only way to do that is to stop worrying about being known for something, and allow yourself to be known be a group of someones.

What do you want? What do you really want? We’ll never get what we really want until we discover what is most valuable. And what we naturally want is often in conflict with what we ultimately value. So, in order to figure out what you really want, you have to figure out what you value.

All of us have had the experience of getting what we naturally wanted, only to discover it wasn’t what was most valuable - it wasn’t what we ultimately wanted. But how do we avoid being deceived by our short-term desires?

What do you want in 2019? Is it a what? Is it a who? Maybe it’s a state of mind. Are you sure it’s what you really want? Let’s figure it out together.

On 23 September, Northside stood with over 5,000 churches around the world to see the reality of modern day slavery, understand God’s heart for justice and join the global movement to end slavery. We were deeply moved by a fresh look at the story of Joseph in the Bible, his experience of slavery and God’s heart and commitment to do something about it.

On our first Sunday as one church in two locations we kicked off this new series, We Are, looking at who we want to be as a church. First up, we don’t have all the answers, but we’ll point you to the one who does.

Uber. Airbnb. Spotify. You don’t have to look far to find examples of industry disrupters in our society. You don’t have to read far in the Bible to see that God is also a disrupter. The question is: are we disruptible?
