Furry Friends Friday with “Apollo” from Cass County Animal Control – Friday, January 14, 2022
Apollo is an American Pitbull Terrier and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is just under 3 years old and has been at our shelter for about 4 months. When he came in we were told that he is skittish around new people, however, in the time he’s been with us Apollo has begun to open up. When you spend time with Apollo, he will show you how goofy and playful he can be, as well as his desire for attention and love. Apollo would really thrive in a home with an owner who is patient and willing to show him that new things are not as scary as they seem. Apollo is house broken, crate trained, and knows basic commands such as sit and shake. When Apollo visited the veterinarian he was very friendly with the staff, and was even well-behaved while his toenails were being trimmed. He has not had a meet and greet with another animal, however, he is very curious about other dogs. Apollo is not yet neutered so his adoption fee is $65.00. This is Melody. She came to Animal Aid with a crushed tail and two male kittens. Both of Melody’s boys are in a wonderful home and she is now looking for her own forever home. Melody has recovered from the surgery to remove most of her tail, leaving a small nub. She has been spayed and received her vaccinations. Melody has come out of her shell and is proving to be a sweet, affectionate girl. She is good with other cats and dogs, and has been around young children. Melody is quiet and a bit shy, but loves to show her belly for pets. Sassy is an energetic one year old who loves walks, running, and playing with children and other dogs. She is a free feeder and loves to cuddle. Furry Friends Friday with Luna from Paws of Hope – October 15
Luna is a female mixed breed dog, estimated to be one year old. We believe that Luna could be a Labrador Retriever-Pit Bull Terrier mix. She was found hiding in the bushes along the River Valley bike trail. Luna was quite frightened and malnourished, but her loving and trusting personality allowed her to be easily rescued. Luna is well-mannered, playful, and loves to meet new people. She is athletic and loves to chase toys outside. Luna is also intelligent, and her natural listening skills make it easy for her to learn. She gets along well with the cats in her foster home, and has developed a special friendship with one of the cats. Boo, Ghost, and Goblin, are the most adorable ‘spooky’ kittens you’ll ever see and they’re ready to find their new forever homes! These spooky little kittens are about seven weeks old. At first, these young kittens are timid when it comes to new surroundings. However, once comfortable they are ready to cause mischief! Ghost, with his long hair, enjoys curling up to watch his siblings from a distance before sneaking up on them. Goblin is the adventurous kitten, looking to pounce on his siblings or any toy nearby. Boo is a bit shy and gave us quite a fright when we discovered she has a bobtail. They are bound to ‘haunt’ your thoughts with their undeniable cuteness! Meet adorable, adoptable Clucky! This 2-4 year old Shepard mix is already spayed, up to date with all her vaccines, and ready to snuggle. Clucky is by far the most photogenic pup here at BCAC and has a natural zest for life. This sweet girl would love to find someone who would take her out on adventures during the day and cuddle all night. Clucky came to us as a stray so, unfortunately, we don’t know much about her past. We do know that she would do best in a home as the only animal and she would do best with older kids only. Sadly, Clucky has Heartworm Disease. This has not dulled her sparkle at all!
