Ms. Petite is a corrections officer that has a disability which makes her unable to wear a mask, due to a car accident in 2018 which disabled her. Mr. Oliver Kennedy was a recreational therapist, working with seniors and disabled individuals, for 20 years. He was terminated from his employment for refusing to get a vaccine, despite his manager initially stating that no one in her employ would be coerced to do so. Mr. Auger is a retired firefighter. His father was admitted to a long-term care facility in June 2021 due to early-onset dementia. After visiting to enroll his father, he was no longer allowed to come into the building for almost six months as he was unvaccinated. A fit and active volunteers firefighter, Kirk Desrosiers had two Pfizer shots within a month of each other. Nine days after the second shot Kirk felt pain in his lungs and his blood pressure test at the firehall showed his blood pressure to be dangerously high. At the hospital he was told he had an, “extremely large quantity of blood clots in both of my lungs”. Kirk is now unemployed and on two blood thinners, possibly for the rest of his life. Linda Adshade worked with public health in Nova Scotia notifying people of their negative PCR test results. A very outgoing, energetic person before she received one shot of the Pfizer vaccine, Josephine Fillier still suffers from the adverse effects. A dental hygienist working in Chester, Nova Scotia for 22 years. The Dental Board did not mandate the COVID vaccines and so she chose not to get vaccinated. All other fellow employees were vaccinated and one of the triple vaccinated fell very ill with COVID. The office protocols forced that Amy get tested, and she tested positive, although was not symptomatic. She was to return after 14 days of being a “close contact” but her employer ended up firing (only) her instead as she was not vaccinated. An education assistant from Meductic, New Brunswick, with 5 years of experience working with special needs children. Artur Anselm had been employed by Canadian National Railways for six years as a trucker maintainer when he was told that he would need to be vaccinated in order to keep his job. A 12 year career paramedic, Chet Chisholm was on WCB recovering from PTSD when the pandemic began. His treatment for PTSD was delayed and then only partly provided due to restrictions. Leigh-Anne was required to get the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine or else she would lose her job. She got the Pfizer vaccine on May 27, 2021, and on Sunday June 20, 2021 she suffered a stroke at the age of 41 years old. No known cause was attributed to her stroke. She was not able to find a doctor that would give her an exemption letter for the second shot, and since a second dose was a requirement for her to keep her job, she was forced to quit.
