When Claudia's eldest daughter was born, the number one priority was sheer survival. Only when her baby was around one year old and all of her first words were in English, she realized that she hadn't done much for her child's bilingualism. Something had to change. Months and months after many hurdles and fallbacks, consistency and hard work, Spanish became the main language in their family - even for her native English speaking husband.
As a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist Claudia also shares insights from her work and we discuss the most common myths that we both work on debunking.
