When OK EG enters Varden it’s 8:30PM on Sunday. It’s been a slow and steady build during the day, much slower than the day before, people have been given time to rest properly from a late night on Saturday. This is the journey. The ebb and flow of the forest. It’s their job to get the crowd going for the last couple of interval sprints. They are well rested and ready. OK EG’s expansive sound is deep and diverse. Their compositions display a range that shifts between delicate, textural soundscapes, and spiralling, mesmerizing, mind-trip techno. They first went to Monument festival in 2024, taking a break from a residency at EMS in Stockholm to spend a weekend in the forest. They brought a field recorder with them and spent time on the riverbank recording the sound of stones and water. And listen to this level of dedication; while preparing for their live set in 2025, they used those recordings to write a closing track called Monument Stone. This is what they said about it. ”In the moment of performing it at the festival, we felt that everything came together. The crowd, the music and the site connected and it happened just as we’d imagined it.” During their set day turns to dusk. "This set was recorded at dawn on a Sunday morning, closing out a long day of incredibly inspiring music. I hadn’t gone to bed yet and was so locked into the sound that by the time I started playing, I was already deep in a trance. I took over from Formant Value & Simone Bauer’s live set, picking up the momentum where they left off, then gradually brought the BPM down, leaning into psychedelic textures and trance-laced rhythms. Those two hours flew by - we were all locked in. It’s a rare kind of magic to do what you love in a place like Refractor, where most artists stay for the whole weekend to immerse themselves in the community and support each other. Music has this way of creating deep connections, and you could feel that throughout the festival. We were part of something unique. And the crowd... what can I say. Berlin-based DJ Jesse G is known for her energetic, genre-spanning sets that surprise and delight crowds, her sound is a playful, wide-ranging medley of deep, metallic, trippy, groovy, jacking, and percussive techno, with diverse rhythms and a UK bass influence. Her distinctive sound is also informed by an encyclopedic understanding of electronic music and from honing her craft over her nearly six years as an integral member of the staff at the hallowed Berlin record store, Hard Wax. In addition to having held down residencies at RSO Berlin and Tresor, she has played venues such as Berghain, De School, Open Ground, and Blitz Club; and graced festivals including ADE Het Weekend and Nachtiville. Operating at the frontiers of electronic music, Spekki Webu stands apart as a true architect of his own sonic universe. The visionary behind the Mirror Zone label and a highly prolific producer, his work - including an excellent debut album last year - is a testament to a relentless pursuit of the new, sculpting a sound that is both boundary pushing and universally mind-altering. Offering some insight into the deeply personal and experimental nature of this deep trip, the Dutch maestro explains: “This mix is mainly music by myself, upcoming music on the label and some unreleased tunes by friends. I have been exploring lots of different tempo's the last few months and also been reprocessing a lot of field recordings which have been layered a lot in this mix. You can almost say that this is a hybrid mix where I am live layering field recordings and processing them in real time. But the main focus is of course the DJ part. Slowly unfolding and blending from chapter to chapter, I don't engage my mixes as mixes anymore, more like this feeling of reading a few pages from my personal book. Minimalistic movements drowned in wider atmospheric arrangements within this story. A lot of this music in this mix has been made in the last months and dives into introspective moments. Blurring textures which have felt like clouded moments in my consciousness, like living in some sort of dream and moving on to the next stage. Preparing for changes. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together. The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Born in Poland and based in London, this DJ/producer is also the co-owner of Crescent London - a label synonymous with deep, hypnotic techno.
