Crescent label head Labyrinthine joins us for this session direct from Tokyos iconic 'Womb'. Recorded live on November 29th 2024 as part of FORCE - Paradigma Records’ showcase. Born in Poland and based in London, this DJ/producer is also the co-owner of Crescent London - a label synonymous with deep, hypnotic techno. Back in 2023 we were lucky enough to release an exceptional podcast from Timnah - our ears were hooked! Remma is a DJ and founder of the DIY station ITMOTR Radio, which has played a significant role in shaping the music culture of the outer Eastern corner of the Netherlands. Remma has played at institutions such as Dekmantel, Garage Noord and had multiple appearances at De School, where he was selected to play one of the final sets at the legendary ‘Het Einde’ closing party. Mariachiara Troianiello, the Italian sound artist behind the moniker Katatonic Silentio, works at the crossroads of electronic music, performing arts and sound studies. Active as a DJ for more than 15 years, her sets adopt multiple forms, fluctuating between an analogue past and a technological, fast-paced future. Nadia Struiwigh is a producer, live artist, DJ and resident of Tresor. Her music spans ambient, electro and techno and has been featured on labels like Nous’klaer Audio, Dekmantel and Central Processing Unit. In 2024 she founded the label Distorted Waves focussing on hardware-centered, more experimental works. As we turn the page to 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on the powerful moments that defined the Monument Festival last year. One such memory was the opening ceremony led by the incredible Sarah Wreath. A sonic experience that set the tone for connection, introspection, and renewal. The intention behind Sarah’s live set was clear: to create a meditative space where festivalgoers could connect deeply—with one another, the natural surroundings of Veggli, and, most importantly, with themselves. It was more than music; it was an invitation to embark on a transformative journey, bridging ancient and modern worlds through sound. Her performance blended electronic synthesis with acoustic elements, weaving together indigenous, ethereal, and psychedelic sounds. The result was a hypnotic tapestry of tribal ambient rhythms, designed to ground us in the moment while opening our hearts to new possibilities. Central to the experience was the use of pure tones tuned to 432 Hz and 216 Hz, frequencies known for their cosmic harmony and healing properties: 432 Hz, often called “natural tuning,” resonated with the rhythm of the universe, fostering relaxation and emotional balance. 216 Hz, a harmonic counterpart, enhanced the meditative quality of the performance, drawing listeners deeper into themselves. A standout element of the ceremony was Sarah’s use of a Chao Gong, amplified with a contact microphone and enriched with FX processing. Its deep bass frequencies (110 Hz) created a grounding effect, while layers of Tibetan singing bowls and other meditative instruments brought a celestial dimension to the soundscapes. Together, these elements formed a sonic portal—a sacred opening to the festival and the year ahead. As we welcome 2025, we hold this memory as a symbol of renewal and intention. Sarah’s performance wasn’t just the beginning of the festival, it was a new beginning for all of us, a reminder of the power of music to heal, connect, and inspire. At Varden, the fusion of nature and music becomes reality, and Detroit-based artist Erika made it her playground. The Monument Family moved as one, a sea of smiling faces and dancing bodies flowing in sync, like waves in an ocean. Carried by her deep, hypnotic, and atmospheric sounds. Dancers look on with childlike awe at the projections on the surrounding trees around Varden, painted by light in all of the colors of the rainbow. Smoke is suddenly coming in from the side, taking the shape of fog you can see over water sometimes. Time moved in slow motion, and all that could penetrate the fog was laser beams. It felt like being inside a lightning storm in a cloud. The ultimate synaesthesia vortex unfolding right before our eyes. Erika’s music felt alive, creating moments where the boundaries between nature, technology, and human connection blurred. As if the trees Varden was built with helped her to fine-tune the sound. Berlin-based Keplrr has spent a decade crafting a signature sound that fuses ceremonial techno with driving house and minimal influences. Kohra (ک()رہ Urdu for fog/mist) has been a member of the underground dance music community in India for nearly two decades. This same philosophy led him to establish Qilla Records (قلعه Urdu for fort or castle) in 2011.
