As a leader, you must distract the distraction in order to keep your team focused and motivated to work on the business… You always must be promoting something new that excites your team. One of the best ways is to promote an event as events are about the experience and social proof. (1) You can do incentives. A 5-day challenge, a 10-day challenge. Announce an incentive at the event. Who Is Joe Hernandez? Joe Hernandez was born in deep Texas in Hondo and is now living in San Antonio, Texas. Joe is a veteran of US Air Force and Gulf War veteran for 12 years. Ep 530530: Behind The Scenes Episode: “3 Lessons On Increasing Your Leadership from Simon Chan’s Entrepreneurial Journey”

“Don't compare. Just know that everyone has to have that unique journey”. An Entrepreneurs life is never easy. Is a nonstop journey of new lessons learned and that's why I do what I do, is not about making money, it is driven by purpose. And if anyone ever tells you that once you make it it's easy, then they are full of lies or BS or they never made it before because it's a never-ending journey. I have a couple of things I want to share. These are all lessons about leadership to help you. So I'll tell you one thing the last year has definitely been the happiest I've ever had in my life. It has nothing to do with business, of course the business drives it, but it's really about the time my family, my boys it’s really been cool. In the last couple of months, I've been coaching my son's basketball team. And also we started baseball. Now I'm manager for that teams are doing both at one time. It's definitely has tested my time management, running a MLM Nation, being a spouse, but it’s really really been fun. I feel like I've been able to be the father that I always wanted my dad to be. I love my dad for what he did but he was just busy. But thanks to the profession of network marketing, it gives me so much more flexibility to just say hey two o'clock I got to pick on my son we're going to go baseball when we do these practices. So I'm really grateful for what the profession has given me. And it’s been really the happiest time. Just made me put things in perspective that business success is important but it's not everything. You may be winning the race but are you winning the right race. You may be may be good at climbing the ladder, but is the ladder against the right wall. Success is not about the money, it's the time and the flexibility you have. If everyone knew what it meant to have the flexibility, that's caused by residual income everyone would work so so much harder. I think about myself; even though I achieved and built a seven figure MLM business. If I knew the benefits, how happy I am with the boys, I would have had kids earlier and even doubled or tripled down on what I did in my business. I would build a million dollar business even faster than what I did. Now one thing I want to emphasize is don't compare. If you compare, that's really the kiss of death. It what is really going to kill not just your business but your life… it’s really your life because you're not going be happy. Don't compare. Just know that everyone has to have that unique journey. One of the things that been really exciting to see for me, an update is the success we've had in our group, Purpose Driven Networkers. It’s not about the money, it’s about the purpose. Every one of you if you want to have a happy life you got to be driven by purpose. It goes back to the book I read. Purpose Driven Life. Back in 2003 that seven almost 16 - 7 years ago that really changed my life. God's purpose for me was to have a positive impact in as many lives as possible that really got me. It’s not just about money but making an impact and in Purpose Driven Networks we can make a big impact. We opened it up indefinitely, we don't know for how long, but for a short time period. We guarantee you will get one signup within 30 days, but you have got to be consistent. This guy Joe Hernandez did it, he got two signups in less that 30 days. So it works and it is really fulfilling to see making an impact where it is not just about my success but it passing it on. Let's just change gears a little bit and share a couple of lessons for you. Nothing's at all great. Exactly a week ago, I made one of the biggest mistakes I've made in a long time. I just had someone on our podcast that we shouldn't have had on there. MLM Nation has been around. This is going to be our fourth year, almost going to year five now. And at the beginning I remember we had to struggle to get people to get on shows because no one's heard of us. But now everyone wants to be on our show, everyone wants to be on MLM Nation. And recently we got someone that I felt like I didn't do my due diligence enough to have them on the show. Afterwards I found out a few things they were doing that were not consistent with my values and integrity and we had to pull the show off. It never actually got to Itunes, but we did do a Facebook, but since then has been deleted and removed. But you know what. I made a mistake and so it doesn't matter what level you are, you can still screw up. I screwed up. I realized I really screwed up. If you ever screw up, here are a couple of Leadership Lessons for you. You have to own up to it Number one you've got to own up to it. I think the thing that bailed me out after 48 hours I owned up to my mistake. Know that you can't please everyone. Some people are not going to be happy about it. Ep 527527: Founder Friday "When Should You Go Full Time in Your MLM Business"

Time Management Tricks In this training, we are talking about one simple time management trick that will help you get more things done in the same amount of time. We have to understand our human DNA; our caveman and cavewoman instincts. There are only things that would motivate us to get up and move. If a tiger was coming If we were hungry If another caveman came to steal our woman We are not natural go-getters. Think back to when you were in school, and you received an assignment. For the bigger assignments, you usually received them a couple weeks ahead of time, when there was no urgency to get it done. Come the night before the due date, you are writing the paper quickly because there is urgency. The pressure keeps us going. Similarly, in corporate America, the most productive day of the year is the day before you go on vacation. How does this apply to your business? You need urgency. That’s why we do the Go DMO sessions, and we break it up. Successful people are very specific with their intention. Time management trick to get more done: set a timer and be specific with your intention. Even when you are doing daily tasks, such as doing dishes. I do this trick every day, especially when it comes to emails. If I give myself 15 minutes in the afternoon to do emails, I do them as fast as possible. I could spend a whole day on just that task, so on the bigger tasks, I do 15 minutes in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Depending on the task, I set the timer for, at most, 45 minutes. I take a break and get back to it again. Think about what areas of your life where you can apply this. Challenge yourself and you will be amazed at what you get done. One of the biggest mistakes that people make in network marketing is going full time too early. 5 Reasons why you shouldn’t go full time too early: You don’t yet understand how this business works. This business is built in the nooks and crannies of your day. Most of you, for 90% of distributors, if you had more time, there’s not much you can do in network marketing. If you feel like you need more time, you actually need better time management. What ends up happening is that there’s a lack of urgency, and you get a lot less done. You lose job benefits. You lose the networking at your jobs. Your job is a great way to meet people, and future prospects. Once you become full time, you become desperate. Every prospect is now like a dollar sign. You need the income because you don’t have another job to rely on, so you become desperate. Your story just is not good. When you’re part-time, having an extra $2,000 per month can make your life more comfortable. But when you’re full time and relying on $2,000 a month of income, that’s close to welfare. At that point, your story doesn’t inspire people, it’s scary. To answer the question, when is a good time for you to go full time in your business: When your network marketing business matches your full-time income. I recommend even more than that because of the loss of benefits. As Jim Rohn says, “I’m working full time on my income, but part-time on my fortune.” The exception to this is: If you have really great momentum, and this is applicable to about 1% of people, you can go full-time before your income matches your full-time job. For example, if you went from earning $0 to $30,000-40,000 a year already in just a couple months, and you can see that momentum increasing, you can probably go full-time a little quicker. It’s inspiring Talk more about the problem. It increases the person’s pain. They can relate to you more. It gives them the room to share their own problems. If they are unaware, talking more about your problem may help them realize their own. Focus on stories. The best storytellers make the most money in network marketing. Pick the best stories you can use and determine how you can create a vivid picture of it to best share your story and pain. If you spend more time talking about the problem, people will be more interested in the solution What Subject Should You Use to Position Yourself When It Comes To Branding Biggest Mistake On Branding The mistake that people make when it comes to branding is that they try to position themselves in a certain way. Instead, you should talk about what you are most passionate about. Branding is about creating a following. And if you aren’t passionate about it, it’s going to be difficult to get the following. You’re not going to do it consistently You’re not going to do it long term. Finding Your Passions If you didn’t have to work, what would you spend your time doing? This is a good place to start to determine what it is that you are passionate about. Sharing Your Passions Builds Trust When you are passionate, people will follow you. You can use this to better connect with prospects, and it can be implemented in warm markets or cold markets, Facebook, LinkedIn, or whatever platform you use. Principles of communication Keep your message short and brief, 1-2 sentences Common Mistake: people type too much. You want to keep it simple. Always want to end with a question to keep the conversation flowing and take an action. For example: “I had an awesome day. How is your day?” When you start the message, start with commonality. Example: Mention a post they shared or a sports team you both have in common. How to avoid the mistake of waiting too long to invite your prospect We all get stuck in that “building rapport” stage, especially when you are building online. For offline team building, you may invite them the second or third time you talk to them. But for online team building, you need to invite right away. People are used to quick messages online. How to meet friends online: C - Comment L - Like A - Add them as a friend M - Message them When you are messaging them, invite them directly on the first interaction. The reason why people get stuck in the rapport building phase and how to overcome it. You’re afraid of rejection and you feel like you’re using people. Solutions Know that most people will say no. If you are expecting that “no” you won’t be afraid of rejection. Your goal is to collect friends. Give people a way out. Follow up six months later Powerful networking tip Make a list of every new friend you’ve made this year. At the end of each year, review that list to see how many relationships you created that year and you will see how your network has grown. How to follow up after rejection Start a conversation. Ep 515515 - Small Mental Shift to Overcome the Fear of Prospecting by Simon Chan

Have you ever been stuck? You want to grow your business, but you’re scared of social media, and you don’t know how to contact your prospects. Or maybe you have prospects. You meet all these people on social media, but you don’t know what to say or how to reach out to them. You know this business works and you’re determined, but the fear or prospecting is holding you back. Today I’m going to share one mental shift that is going to help you overcome the fear of prospecting. I started the business in November 2003. When I first started in the business, I was nervous, as I’m sure some of you can relate to. My first two months I made no money in the business, which is because I only talked to ten people. Then I had a mental shift two and a half months in. The reason why most of you are nervous to prospect is that you have the wrong goal. You approach a contact and you want to recruit them to get them into the business or get them to buy the products. If you are focused and worried about recruiting, you will be nervous, which creates fear. The simple mental shift: When you approach a prospect, simply let them know you have a business. That little shift was the difference between me talking to ten people in two months and me talking to 30 people in the next three weeks, which is how I got my first sign up. When you approach your contact list, you do not care whether they join or not. Your goal is simply let them know you have a business. Simple script that works every time: Ask a friend: I’m really curious, and I need your advice and opinion on something. Can you watch this video? I’m super excited about this video and what’s going. It only takes 2-3 minutes. Watch this and let me know what you think. A prospect will have three doubts Is this for real? Can I do this? Will you help me? 7 Tips on How to Make Sure Your Prospects Watch the Video You have to be excited about it. - This will increase their curiosity. Send the video only when they can watch it. - People watch so many videos every day, and you are competing with those videos. Make sure to send the video only when they have time to watch it and watch it together. Share the number of views. - This will also increase curiosity and their investment in the video. The vision behind the video, and your vision. - The video will share how their life will change. How has the video helped you? - What changes in your life has this brought? And how has it made you a better person? How has the video has helped others? - Share one or two testimonials. Length of the video. - People are time-starved. People are busy now. - Video should be 3-5 minutes long. My challenge to you: Go out and talk to 50 people, without worrying about the result. Go out there and make it happen! People need to watch your company video. They need to because this business is about helping people, and your business has awesome vision and products to help people. Ep 507507: Special episode on the Top Business and Life Lessons from 2018 by Simon Chan

Happy holidays and happy new year! In this episode, I want to share some top business and life lessons as we reflect back on the year. The reasons I do this podcast are to share business and productivity lessons I’ve learned about getting more energy, time management skills, and other useful tips. I hope to inspire you and help you take your business to the next level. Take time to recap your year. When you really think about it, you probably have done more than you realize. When I did this, it allowed me to realize everything I accomplished this year, instead of only focusing on the negatives. I define personal growth as when you are challenged and you keep going. One of the things my mentor taught me is, success is not built on success. Success is built on problems, frustration, and failure. Personal Accomplishments One of the personal lessons was back in January when I went to men’s retreat. I realized I wasn’t playing big and bold enough in my faith. Whatever you believe in, be more bold in it. Another important thing I practiced this year was to stop comparing myself to other people. It’s easy to see top income earners, people crushing it, and you tend to get a sense of inspiration and also jealousy and envy. Everyone looks good on social media. We’re all dealt different cards. It’s all about what you make with those cards. And finally, I learned to make a commitment to what is important, and that it is crucial to be able to adapt. This year I made a commitment to spending time with kids, especially when it comes to sports. And in regards to adaptation, my three sons now attend different schools. So I had to adjust to make the most of my day. Professional Accomplishments One of the biggest professional accomplishments was No BS No Hype, our big event held in Brisbane, Australia. The event was attended by 500-700 people, and we are very much looking forward to next year’s event, which takes place August 24th and 25th. For more information, go to mlmnation.com/nobs2019. An important exercise to create your vision: Write down a list of 100 benefits and reasons of building a business that serves yourself. What are you going to get out of it? How’s it going to make your life better? How can you live a better life? Then list another 100 reasons why you get to be able to make an impact on others. Looking at that list to see what you can create is compelling, and it will make you dream bigger and do more every single day. Who are Anthony and Kate Golle? Anthony and Kate Golle are high school sweethearts and have 3 kids, 6, 8 & 10 years old. Anthony is a Chiropractor and they owned 5 Wellness Centres. They’ve produced a health documentary called Overfed & Undernourished and also authored the book, Raising Healthy Families in Unhealthy Times. They said “No” to network marketing for over 6 years before they finally got started. Once they committed to the profession, they were able to sell 4 of their traditional businesses. Anthony and Kate reached the top positions in their company and live on the beach with our 3 kids between the Gold Coast & Byron Bay. One Habit Kate: Working on our vision has really been a huge thing. Anthony: Zero lag time. When we are at an event or seminar, we are half listening. We are already starting to apply what they say. Sarah Zammit left the corporate world to have kids. She has two boys, ages 10 and 11 and though she loved to be a mom, like many, she felt unfulfilled just being at home. She found herself starting to lose self-confidence and self-belief and needed something to do other than being a stay at home mom. She was looking for a purpose. Sarah tried many things such as being a makeup artist, personal training, real estate, working in a pizza shop, etc but nothing really clicked for her. She also couldn’t go back to work full time since her husband worked 12-hour rotating shifts and someone needed to be home to take home of the kids. Then one day a friend introduced her to some products that she really liked and she decided to do network marketing as a hobby. Before she knew it, not only has Sarah got a great source of extra income but she’s finally found her purpose and passion. Best Advice I would just say stop overthinking it. I used to be the biggest overthinker and I think the biggest thing for me now is I don’t overthink it. I just get it done and I’m having fun with it.
