City Gate Network is an association that provides training and educational resources to people who lead rescue missions, urban missions or similar ministries. Pastor Ray has long since become Omar's stepfather and was the one who brought Omar to the mission (twice). Omar is now a staff member at The Caring Place.

They also created the New Horizon Scholarship Fund to help people graduating from The Caring Place program get back on their feet by funding their education in barbering or cosmetology school. Dr. Vera M. Stevens, of the Stevens Health and Nutritional Center, is organizing an event to help women who have been abused by domestic violence.

These children are placed in foster care until they can be reunited with their parents, who have to follow rules to be better parents, or until they are adopted into what they call an "ever home." Today “People pay more attention to a homeless dog and cat than to a child”
