Somehow thanks to Laura we end up with toilet talk. I blame her with her bathroom angst. “Mud hen”And from that somehow we get on the subject of wild hogs in Texas and on our property which is problematic for sure.

We felt like we needed to close the story of the trip to California to see my mom. Seniors are something we are all dealing with, or soon will be, and the struggle is real, it’s a personal podcast but our relationship with our listeners is personal as well. The story is now complete and I live with no regrets.

We sit down in this podcast to talk about keeping our dogs clean, brushed out, working on noses with buildup, dirty ears and what are hotspots. Grooming dogs is a big topic so we just tried to tackle it this time in general.

We had Dr. Reno join us again and this time we discussed at length the topic of overheating dogs, there is more to it than your dog just gets too warm, it is a lengthy discussion on all aspects, traveling with your dog, what to look for with your dog, what do do if this happens to you, and what are the signs to look for. Many times the issue is behavioral and not just temp related. We felt it was best to turn this podcast into a two part podcast due to the length of the conversation, Part one we will share with you tonight.

Tonights podcast gets a little personal but that’s our life and many times its what the conversation just heads toward. The topic is aging parents, the difficulties, the decisions, the worry on how to handle their care, I am positive many if not all of you can relate to this subject in one way or another.

This weeks podcast is a subject that affects so many people, we get emails and phone calls about this subject constantly. The subject is having a dog in your home that is hurting people and what do you do. We had a client who had a devastating situation occur that we discuss at length. It’s truly a huge subject and one that is hard to cover all the nuances in one podcast but we give it our best.

Tonight's podcast we welcome Liz Ross the rescues groomer and foster mom also known as Fake Mama. Liz is tons of fun and she shares with us her history starting out as a groomer and we touch on a few subjects about dogs that need to be groomed with hair cuts and what that means to you as a pet owner.

I dreaded this podcast but I knew it had to be done, I tried hard to keep it from being a cry fest and I think we did pretty good. Saying goodbye to Bea was very traumatic for me, the shock of it is what did me in, as I said before trying to find my rational mind in the midst of the crisis was very hard, thankfully I had Laura, Dr. Reno and the ER doctor all there to help lead me the right way.It wasn’t all tears we did laugh and enjoy our memories of the Queen, her huge personality and her years of running the yard at the ranch. She most certainly made an ever lasting imprint on so many of us.I will talk about it some more and we touched on it a bit in this podcast but we will be implementing a water fountain outside of the office at the ranch in honor of her, I will work to find someone who can make a concrete statue of the queen to sit next to it, I think she would like that to be forever known as the Queen of Lone Star Dog Ranch.

We tried to answer a few questions from the page and hit on dog food but also the twist of discussing how we all feed our dogs, the process, the decisions on who eats where, and why, who needs a crate, who doesn’t and why. We also discuss how to find a good brand of kibble if raw or fresh isn’t a good option for you.

This is the podcast to help our rescues find their forever homes. Periodically we like to sit down with all of us and talk about each dog in the rescue to give as many details as we can about them. It truly helps our listeners who are interested in adopting but need more info. Laura will ask any potential adopter to listen in and make sure they feel like the dog is a good fit for them and if not maybe a different dog would be.

This is just one of those good ol chitty chatty Sunday night podcasts where many things are discussed, sometimes it just naturally goes that way, and we enjoy them just as much as a serious conversation.

We recorded this podcast a few weeks ago, this would be the last podcast where the baby boy bears could fit on the table. We discuss the subject of microchips, I was a little astonished at how confusing this subject is for so many pet owners. The statistic I found was that 40% of dogs in the country that have microchips are in fact not registered which means they have a chip that will lead to nowhere because no info is attached to it. We try and clarify this subject for so many to help you understand how to make sure your dog not only has a chip but to make sure you get it properly registered to you. I’m going to include this link for all of you that fall into this category, your dog has a chip and you are unsure if it’s registered. First we apologize for the delay in this weeks podcast. Wes is feeling better and now has it finished. We spent the majority of this podcast discussing bad behavior in dogs and why it needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. Primarily we discuss Bibble and her vaccuum issues but it goes beyond that.

Tonight we touch on many topics but primarily we discuss these little tiny Poodle pups staying with Jenn, this was recorded prior to Olivia passing away, it leads us into the topic of adopting dogs in need and what that entails from the standpoint of our hearts.

Lady Galloway comes again this week to soak up some more bear pups, we enjoy them on the table for however long that will last.😆 We discuss at length allergies in dogs, food allergies, testing, etc etc…

Tonights podcast we spend some time discussing littermate syndrome, with Travis getting two brother pups there is still some confusion on exactly what littermate syndrome means, why does it happen, what to look for, how to work on the issue if you have it. Littermate syndrome does not always happen with littermates, dogs don’t even have to be related, and they don’t even have to have lived together their whole life. We discuss all aspects to try and clarify the topic.

We catch up on a few things before saying good bye to Daryl. Travis could not join this podcast he said he would only cry and did not want to do that. A quick update on trying to solve the constipation of the 🐝We celebrate the auction and its success and all of our donors and shoppers, it was an amazing event. A few details on the passing of the velvet tiger and of course the heartbreak it has brought.

It’s a packed podcast of a recap of the week of surprises with lady Galloway, Eva and Stevie Polina makes her appearance on the podcast. Just in case Laura forgot who the better friend was Wes took care of that permanently.

Tonight's podcast we spend a little time talking about geriatric dogs, concert going with my experience seeing Adele, and of course we talked about me being the better friend by surprising Laura in Florida…..She will never hear the end of that.

We welcomed back Lady Galloway tonight and she fills all of you in on why she’s been absent and the issues she has had at her home. We missed her terribly and we’re happy to have her back with us. Wes revealed to us that he has turned into a chef at home and now cooks, obviously that was hilarious. Wes inserts photos of his completed meals so enjoy those 😂

Periodically we like to take the time and actually discuss the dogs in the rescue that need a home. It’s hard to convey details about them in just a post on Facebook. When we discuss them in the podcast we can have everyone chime in on the dogs and the details about them, medically and socially. Tonight is that podcast.

We discuss a few things in tonight’s podcast. Updates on poop because poop is important. Silly things like sugar cereal and what is your favorite. But seriously we discuss that we have finally, finally purchased and installed our huge walk-in freezer which means that launching our dog food business where we will finally ship it around the country is very near. Once we get on the subject of dog food, a subject we are very passionate about we share why it’s important and it takes us right back to loop full circle. Tonight’s podcast is all about Caboose, the story about her and what occurred was just too big of a story to cover in a Facebook post, I wrote on but it was very synopsized. The beauty of a podcast is it gives us the opportunity to discuss a subject in far more detail with all of us discussing the topic.

One of those light and hopefully funny podcasts, toes, fingers, pasta, a serious splinter and rescuing dogs. Just a day in the life for all of us at the ranch.

Tonights podcast we discuss the day to day of the Lone Star Dog Ranch trying to let people understand how the ranch operates. We also spend time discussing the hard realities of the flu epidemic that we went through. A delicate subject that we didn’t discuss at the time because it was very painful and very personal was the loss of one of our beloved clients dogs Rip the Bordeaux pup who you might recall was hospitalized at the same time as Bubbles for the flu and they actually shared an oxygen tank. Rip didn’t survive the flu, it crushed his family, it crushed all of us and it changed the Lone Star Dog Ranch forever. Wes has put together a tribute to Rip at the end of this podcast, we will never forget him, his photo hangs in the ranch lobby and is a reminder to us every day as we inform people that the flu vaccine will ALWAYS be a requirement for any dog to step foot in the ranch.

We discuss all the information that people should understand about what to do if you find a stray dog. You might be amazed at how many calls and emails we get with this question and its important to know the law and how to go about trying to help the dog you found find its way home. We also discuss bots on the Facebook page, why they are there, how prolific it has become, what is the goal of the bot. So many people think that it’s actually a person that is harassing them personally or us on our page and we try and give details explaining what is happening there.

We touch on a few things tonight. As I mentioned earlier, Bea and her decline. The subject of empathy in rescue what does it mean?. The ever ridiculousness of Tater, and the never had to deal with before constipation, of Vivian.
