In our world today, we are so quick to dismiss certain skills/interests as not being valuable. In today’s episode, I want to talk about the fundamental decision that every one of you must make and that’s figuring out which business model is the best option for you. What I’ve noticed is that a lot of times clients have been trying a number of different routes to make money online only to find themselves frustrated after a few years of trying all sorts of options. The mistake so many women make is that they are bouncing from idea to idea simply looking for “the way” to make money online that will let them quit the job or have the freedom they want. The one that will “work”. But what I’ve come to realize is: They all work. Every one of these business models will work. It’s just a matter of consistency, sticking with it for at least a year, and not pivoting on your niche along the way. But if every business model works, then how do you choose? There’s a spiritual battle going on when it comes to money and wealth. Possessions, territory, and wealth are either part of God’s Kingdom or part of the world. I think this is one of the biggest lies that the enemy has all of us believing as Christians and especially entrepreneurs - that if we want to build wealth, own land, etc, that we are “bad”. If the enemy can get us to ignore that desire to build wealth, then he is keeping believers from a big asset that can be used to make a Kingdom impact. So often we turn away from building wealth for fear of being greedy, but what if the desire to build wealth is placed in our heart from God to do the good works He’s got planned for us? Are you struggling to figure out what your business should be? Do you have ideas, but you just aren’t sure because you don’t have peace about any of them? On today’s episode, I’m going to share with you how to get unstuck when you find yourself paralyzed in your business. We think that humility means that we need to stay out of the limelight and the attention doesn’t need to be on us. We feel uncomfortable being promoted, elevated or praised for our accomplishments. But is this really humility? What if in the attempt to be humble and not boast, you’re actually preventing God from exalting you? When you’re called to business, then that means you will have authority in a space. If you’re preventing God from exalting you, then you could be preventing Him from giving you the provision, business and success you’ve been praying for. Because I was just out of hell and into heaven, I made a lot of bad decisions based on what I wanted, how they made me feel, or what I got from them. This led me down the road to selfish ambition and insecurity. People who knew me at the time probably had no idea that the weight of comparison was crippling me. The way I coped at the time was to be more of all the things....have nicer clothes, better shoes, be louder, dance better, win more. I was very driven by what others thought. I remember praying that something had to change. I knew the road I was going down would lead to terrible things, possibly even death, but I didn't know how to get off it. After that prayer, little by little, God began to show me that His opinion mattered more than everybody else's. Once He started showing me who He was, and in turn showing me who I am in Him, my life turned upside down. The insecurity started melting away. I started to realize that all the things didn't sustain me, He did. Do you find yourself questioning if you’re doing the right business? One thing that comes up a lot with clients is that they are confused about their business. What should their niche be? Really, as Christian entrepreneurs, this means who should their business be serving? Do you ever find yourself asking permission from an online business coach/teacher/mentor? Asking if you’re “allowed” to do something in your business? Or maybe you felt God was leading you in one direction, but you heard an online teacher say the opposite, so you started to doubt what you heard from God. I think what started as seeking wisdom subtly leads into seeking permission and listening to an online teacher over what God has said. But I don’t think this is intentional, so I want to talk to you today about why this happens, how to recognize it and how to fix it (or prevent it in the first place). There are three main lines of thinking that contribute to this happening. What’s wild is that you often won't even recognize you have these thoughts and you’ll just kind of find yourself in that position without even realizing it. Good news is that it really is something you can fix because it starts with thoughts and beliefs and we know those can be changed. This revival that’s happening in the United States that started at Ashbury University shows us what revival looks like. I believe a revival is happening in the online business space for moms. God is calling women back to Him. To see Him in all that they do, to follow Him, to have a yearning to know Him and be used by Him. I know you all can feel it. Let’s be real for a minute: You don’t have to have a business and you don’t have to do it this way. But you are. And there’s a reason. You’re listening to this podcast because there’s something in you that’s saying “I want to do this the right way. Pivoting and changing direction with your business can bring with it a lot of shame. Why can’t you just get it together? When your husband gets frustrated that you’re changing business directions (again), it can be hard. But at the same time, you’re trying to figure this out. You care about your business and following where God is leading so what’s the deal? Making a big business decision is the number one thing clients come to me with. It can be anything from deciding which business they should start to deciding which course or product they should create next. Sometimes you can pray and think on the decision, and then you’ll know what you should do. But sometimes, you are faced with a decision that you just can’t seem to figure out what you should do. Do you feel guilty for working on your business?
