Ep 167S7 E36: Luton v Arsenal preview: It’s Gunner be the hard but is this the man for Town to target?

Kev is once again joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe and Luton fan Dan Barratt-Davis to look ahead to a clash with the league leaders for the second time this season when this time Arsenal head to Kenilworth Road – on James’ birthday! The historical nature of this fixture isn’t lost on anyone and the boys reflect on the most memorable meeting of the two to date, back in 1988, before looking at some of the threats that will be posed by the Gunners on the night. The lads think they have found a man within the visiting team to target and explain who it is and why before they look into who might and might not line up for the Hatters on the night. The chat then looks to which Luton players could be the most important on the evening before the podcast concludes as ever with the score predictions. All of this and lots more besides on the only podcast to go from League 2 to the Premier League! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Thanks to the Hightown Club in Luton for hosting our video podcasts. Ep 152S7 E21: The deep dive - Doughty for England? | Ogbene’s introduction | How to solve VAR

Kev and James are joined by Trust board member and Luton fan Helen Gatward for her debut on the podcast in our monthly episode for October. They are the left-sided pair of Alfie Doughty and Chiedozie Ogbene. Once they finish waxing lyrical over those two men the thoughts turn to VAR and how it can be improved. Ep 145S7 E14: Everton preview: ”I think they want to get relegated” | Mis-match made in heaven? | Ross Barkley’s return

The sixth match of the Premier League season sees the Hatters travelling to Goodison Park on Saturday for the first time since a League Cup tie in 2006. With the Town now off the mark for the campaign, Kev, James and Dan get together to discuss what feels like another big game with the Toffees one of those sides Luton are expected to be in a relegation mini-league with. Listen or watch as the boys break the game down from what they expect to see in terms of personnel and shape from Rob Edwards and his men and what they would like to see regarding the style of play. The lads then pick out a few threats in the opposition which will need to be kept quiet but they also uncover an area where Luton might have a fair bit of joy throughout the contest. All this and plenty more, not to mention a controversial take from Dan and the colours to the mast score predictions! Please note that due to the Exeter game on Tuesday night, this preview was recorded prior to the announcement of the injury to Albert Sambi Lokonga. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust Podcast is now available as a video on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhdF2BFAzS0&list=PLIcugAMPu8Th979mlx7cC-5QTg9wS7oji Find all the latest news and features about Luton Town at The Lutonian: https://thelutonian.com/ Thanks to the Hightown Club in Luton for hosting our video podcasts. Ep 144S7 E13: Luton 1 Wolves 1: Luton off the mark, Match of the Day madness and Chie-OH WOW!

The Town are off the mark! Luton Town earned their first-ever Premier League point with a 1-1 draw against Wolves at Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon. Listen in as Kev, James and Dan reflect on the performance and the result. They discuss the match itself, the fast start and how unlucky the Hatters were not to take the lead in the first half, before reflecting on the comeback in the second period. The attention then turns to the big decisions in the game beginning with the sending-off and then the definitive look at the all-important penalty decision and why Match of the Day had it all wrong. The podcast then concludes with a look at the standout performer of the day (spoiler alert it wasn’t the sponsors’ player of the match!) and a brief preview of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash at Exeter. Ep 142S7 E11: Luton v Wolves preview - is this now a must-win? How the Town will triumph and is it Chieo time?

Here we go again! The Town back at home in front of a sold-out Kenny in a 3pm Saturday kick-off for the first time in six months as they look to get off the mark in the Premier League! Listen to our Wolves preview podcast as Kev and James discuss how Rob Edwards’ men should tackle the opening period of the game, getting the crowd up for it and that famous Kenilworth Road atmosphere at its most intimidating best. The boys assess the main threats which Wolves will provide and then their attention turns to the selection questions that Edwards has ahead of the game. Does Ryan Giles play? Do the Town play four at the back or five? If it is the former which defender should miss out in order for the formation tweak? After his performances for Ireland and cameo at Fulham is it Chieo time? All this and as ever the boys put themselves under pressure with their score prediction for this hugely important clash! Ep 139S7 E8: Barkey and Giles focus, what we’ve learned so far, transfer round-up and formation change needed?

Kev and James return for the first of our monthly podcasts. Yes, in this inaugural Premier League season, we now release pre and post-match episodes every week but, as the longest-running Luton Town podcast, we have always delivered a bumper episode and we're not going to stop now. So, we hope you're enjoying our new content, including our video podcasts which you can find on YouTube, but as we're in the boring international break, the boys got together to offer our usual focus on two Hatters. In this episode, we look at two players that are already dividing opinions on social media after their summer switches. They are club record signing Ryan Giles and England international Ross Barkley. And with the transfer window shutting and those two additions just two of 12 new recruits, the boys discuss the deadline day signings of Teden Mengi from Manchester United and Albert Sambi Lakonga on loan from Arsenal. The move for the latter could hint at a change in the way Luton play and with one listener question asking us about a formation change, the boys drill down into what we can expect to see in the not too distant future. Having seen Premier League rivals up close, Kev and James also discuss what we've learned so far in the top-flight, plus the departure of fan favourite midfielder Glen Rea while also giving a shout-out to the Bury Park community for their patience as the Hatters spent 13 weeks over the summer upgrading their Kenilworth Road stadium to make it Premier League ready. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust Podcast is now available as a video on YouTube and as an audio podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Soundcloud, Google Podcasts, Podbean, Podtail, Castbox, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ep 138S7 E7: Luton 1 West Ham 2 - Don’t mention the VAR! Barkley vs the “cesspit of nonsense” & chant rant

It wasn’t quite the result anyone wanted but Premier League football has finally taken place at the Kenny! Under the new, very bright lights of the enhanced Kenilworth Road with the Bobbers Stand open to supporters for the first time in more than 35 years, Luton Town took on West Ham United but unfortunately fell to a 2-1 defeat. Despite the loss, there were signs of progress in what was the best performance of the season so far. What did we make of the match? Kev and James are together to chew the fat on the whole evening from the first whistle to last, including a groan-up about the perils of VAR, disgraceful chants and what's with the Barkley backlash already? Make sure you watch or listen to get the boys’ thoughts on the good, the bad and the indifferent from the historic evening! Ep 137S7 E6: THE SEASON STARTS HERE! Premier League football comes to Kenilworth Rd - Luton v West Ham preview

This is it, Hatters! The moment we’ve all been waiting for is nearly upon us. The Amex Stadium and Stamford Bridge are fine, but we’ve all dreamed of watching Premier League football at Kenilworth Road and soon we will. The old girl has had a revamp over the summer and we can’t wait to be there for a cauldron atmosphere, the like of which few of us have seen before. And there’s the not-insignificant matter of trying to win our first points of the campaign against an unbeaten West Ham United side that sits second in the Premier League and has already seen off Brighton and Chelsea, the two teams Luton has already played. So, how on earth can Luton start this new era with a positive result? Well, we’ve got the full podcast gang of Kev, Tony, James and Dan to discuss just that. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust Podcast is now available as a video on: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lutontownsupporterstrust/podcasts Please like and subscribe. Ep 136S7 E5: Chelsea 3 Luton 0 - Pride at ”amazing” fan reaction and where Hatters must strengthen in the transfer market

Has there ever been a more glorious fan reaction to a Premier League defeat like we saw at Stamford Bridge? So, a Raheem Sterling-inspired Blues beat Luton 3-0 to ensure Town remain pointless after two top-flight games, but the real story is what happened after the game. More than 3,000 Luton supporters that packed into the west London stadium stayed in their seats until well after the final whistle to cheer and chant for their Hatters heroes, in a show of support and solidarity that will be alien to most Premier League fans. It led manager Rob Edwards and chief executive to both comment on how emotional it made them feel and here in our Chelsea review podcast, Kev, Tony, James and Dan discuss the events of that evening, both on and off the field. And with days remaining on the 2023 summer transfer window, the boys look ahead to where Luton might need to strengthen as well as a possible exit for one of the fan favourite stars that helped the Hatters win promotion to the big time. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust Podcast is now available as a video on: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lutontownsupporterstrust/podcasts Thanks to the Hightown Club in Luton for hosting us. The day that we've all been waiting is almost upon us as Luton Town prepare to make their Premier League bow with a big test at Brighton and Hove Albion. And, of course, we predict what the score will be. Ep 132S7 E1: Premier League - here we come, summer signings, sunstroke and Ross Barkley

We've made it! We started covering Luton Town in the fourth tier of English football back in 2017/18 and now, as the longest-running Hatters podcast, we begin season 7 as the only one-club football show to have gone from League Two to the Premier League. On this episode we preview our first-ever season in the Premier League, talk transfers after a summer in which Town had signed, broken their transfer record three times and added eight new recruits (at the time of recording, but it's now nine) with Ross Barkley of ex Everton, Chelsea and England international fame added to the squad a few hours before we recorded. We discuss the new rules that will be brought in this season, including the introduction of World Cup time-keeping and players approaching referees. And we touch on the first game, the Premier League curtain-raiser away to Brighton and Hove Albion, but more on that in our next match preview podcast. To celebrate our town, our club and our pod's own little piece of history, and a return to the big time after 31 years away we've had a Premier League glow-up, with brand-new retro style Panini sticker-inspired artwork, a new podcast logo (thanks to Ed Smith) and a new, old-school theme tune (courtesy of Seán Grant and the Wolfgang).... and that's just the start. We've got a few more tricks up our sleeves and we can't wait to reveal them to you. But for the first time, this term, WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE! **************************************************************** Check out Ed Smith Creative at: www.edsmithcreative.co.uk Check out Seán Grant and the Wolfgang at: https://linktr.ee/sgwolfgang
