82: MotoNobodies Meetup and the Wheels Through Time Museum
Rich and Rico grill Jon about his mountain trip with the MotoNobodies. The weekend trip for Jon was about 850 miles. The group was made up of the following moto vloggers:Cruiser BrewserAmp'd MotoRouge MogulMatthew WilliamsWolfSPDFNTK (Jon) - Jon has done a video about the Loud Pipes Podcast. Jon has fixed the video as it was pointed out at the 6 minute mark the spyder engine was louder than Jon.The group had a hard time getting all connected with Senas and figured out after the trip that the Sena BackPack that was used to capture audio to GoPro cameras maxes out at 3-4 riders. Another lesson learned from trip is that the night before, sit down (generally while drinking) and pair the units. Looks like the sena 30k will be using 2.4 GHz Adaptive Mesh-Networking Technology. The reviews said it will be easier to pair up units and we'll update if we get a chance to test it. Check out the Wheels Through Time Museum and Dales Channel for some great video on restoration and all the bikes at the museumEVENTS:OBX bike week - April 22 - 30. Joining Rico in studio this week, we have a great conversation to share with everyone.Devah WalkemRides a 1939 80ci Harley Flathead and a 1980 Sturgis Harley (only 1400 of these ever created)Learned on a Yamaha ViragoFlathead upgraded from 45 to 80 cubic inch by her husband Wymand. The bike had low center of gravity and was a great bike being short of 5'4".Main reason Devah rides is the freedom and seeing new sights, and the feeling of different windsBeen riding for 35 years and has gone from Toronto to New Orleans as well as Toronto to SturgisOnce ran out of gas in Oregon and once off the highway, a gas truck pulled in behind and filled them up!Tips for riding vintage bikes is to be mechanically inclined, have a good back, and be prepared to be looked at.Tip for women is to carry a scarf that can be used for to keep you warm and cool.Best state to ride in the USA is Utah in Devah's opinion.Salt river canyon in particular is a great place.Having ridden on the back for many years, she enjoys the different feeling of being a passenger, which allows for looking around more at the scenery and Nagigation (new term for us) EVENTS:American Flat Track Race - Charlotte, NC April 1, 2017Moto Vlogger Spring Mountain Ride - April 7, 2017 - Going to be staying in Pigeon Forge, TN.Barber Vintage Festival - October 6th-8th, 2017 - Leeds, AlabamaRunning time: 53 minutesQuestions or comments: [email protected] or the Feedback page

50: Biker Roundtable - Road Hogs III - Moto Vloggers in Tellico Plains - JR Cigar
We celebrated a little by recording episode 50 live at JR Cigar in Mooresville, NC and hosted our second Biker Roundtable. Thanks to those that joined us on the live stream and chat. We plan to do more live streaming on a regular basis, so check out LouPipes.net/live for more details. Bikers RoundtableA group of Moto-Vloggers (listed below) made a return trip to Tellico Plains, TN. Check out the guys below for all the video from the adventure.Cruiser BrewserAmp'd MotoBacon's Broken BitsNC StoneyWolf's WorldMatthew WilliamsSome great roads were ridden while on this trip including; Tail of The Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, and The Hellbender 28 (Part of Moonshiner). These roads are ranked in top 4 of best routes in North Carolina per motorcycleroads.com. The crew again stayed in Tellico Plains, TN at Hunts Lodge which is a great place for motorcycle rider. The owner of the campground had a Manga V-65 so Matthew Williams had a nice chat with her. On the way back from the mountains Matthew and Jon made a pit stop at JR Cigar to be part of the live show. This was so far Jon's longest ride on the spyder and did little over 900 miles for the weekend. He really enjoyed getting out and riding and found that traveling the interstates is not very exciting. Now he see why Rich and Rico like the back roads so much. <img class="thumb-image" alt=" Jon getting it done on the Tail of the Dragon! 49: Loud Pipes Mountain Ride and News Roundup
The boys are back... After wrapping up our interviews from Atlanta we are back to our normal show format. The guys talk about the Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge, the first Loud Pipes Ride, Road Hogs III ride, Atlanta trip recap, and some news.Motorcycle Podcasters Challenge: We are going to have a little challenge between the Motorcycle Men, Throttled, and Loud Pipes. The goal of this challenge is to encourage riding on a consistent bases and will award the podcast team that averages the most points over the month of August. To help with the challenge the team at EatSleepRIDE will provide ride data and we'll be posting our progress on the ESR platform. You can follow via the challenge web site or EastSleepRIDE.First Loud Pipes Ride: The guys joined up on June 24th and took a little ride from Blacksburg, SC to Little Switzerland, NA and back to Charlotte, NC. This was a nice 300 mile trip that included the Diamonback (NC 226a). Plan was to do the Devil's Whip, but thanks to Apple Maps we ended up riding the Diamondback a second time. Road Hogs III Ride: Rico was the only member of the Loud Pipes team to make the trip. The riding was a great time, but the weather sucked as it rained on and off most of the day. The group went to Bald River Falls via River Road and traveled the Cherohala Skyway. Around mid afternoon the Loud Pipes Crew split from the MotoVloggers due to a long weekend from the Atlanta trip. On the trip back to Charlotte the guys made a pit stop at Sierra Nevada Brewing.Check out the MotoVloggers from the meetup:Cruiser BrewserWolf's WorldRouge MogulAmp'd MotoBacon's Broken BitsSam SmithMatthew Williams - was planing on making it but had motorcycle break down on ride out.News:Harley announces an all new bike for flat track racing, first all new design in 44 yearsIndian announces plans to take on Harley in flat track racingVictory and S&S Cycle announce new performance camsHarley confirmed the LiveWire in the next 5 years.
