The Rays pick up one of their worst losses of the year, loosing to the White Sox 11-9. This was one of the craziest games of the season. They Rays got out to a 4-0 lead after a pair of 2 run home runs by Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero. The Rays immediately blew their first lead of the night as the White Sox came right back in the top of the 2nd to tie the game 4-4. The Rays would score 2 in the 5th highlighted by a Josh Lowe RBI single to make it 6-4. The Rays would blow that lead in the top of the 6th inning as the White Sox mounted a 6 run 8th inning. The Rays would add 2 more in the bottom of the 8th to make it 11-9 but it was to little to late. Taj Bradley and Kevin Kelly both struggled for the Rays pitching staff tonight. They combined to give up 9 of the 11 runs by the Rays tonight. The Rays will look to bounce back against the Reds Friday night. The Tampa Bay Rays hang on for a win vs the Chicago White Sox 4-3. The Rays got all their runs in one inning. After 3 walks by White Sox starter Davis Martin in the 2nd innings, Jose Caballero hit a 2 run RBI single to make it 3-0. He would score on a RBI ground out by Taylor Walls to make it 4-0. The offense would threaten throughout the game but could never get any more runs. Drew Rasmussen started for the Rays he was dominant for the first 3 innings but ran into some trouble in the 4th. He would only go 4 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 5. The Rays bullpen would be really good down the stretch let by Edwin Uceta who went 2 innings striking out 4. Pete Fairbanks would shut the door in the 9th for a much needed win. The Rays will be back tomorrow night looking for the series win. The Tampa Bay Rays lost the series finale to the Baltimore Orioles, 5-3. The Orioles jumped ahead on the very first pitch, as Jackson Holliday led off the game with a solo home run and they never looked back. Baltimore added three more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 4-0. The Rays responded with a Junior Caminero RBI single and a Danny Jansen home run, but that was all the offense they could generate. After the sixth inning, play was halted by a rain delay that lasted over two hours. When the game resumed, both offenses struggled to find momentum. Ian Seymour delivered quality innings for the Rays out of the bullpen after the delay, The Rays would threat in the 9th getting the tying run in scoring position but could not come through. Despite the loss, the Rays still took the series 2-1 and will look to carry that momentum into tomorrow night’s opener against the White Sox. The Tampa Bay Rays pick up a big time comeback win, beating the Baltimore Orioles 4-3. The Rays offense took awhile to get going against starter Dean Kremer. The Rays mustered just 1 run in the first 7 innings before Kremer departed. In the 8th the Rays would complete their comeback. Being down 2-0 for the first 6 innings then 2-1 after the 7th the Rays would put up 3 runs in the 8th. It started with a Chandler Simpson RBI single to score Ha-Seong Kim. Then with the bases loaded Jonathan Aranda hit a ground ball to the first basemen. O'Hearn the first baseman overthrew the catcher which allowed the Rays to score 2 more runs. Zack Littell was fantastic once again for the Rays. He picked up another quality start going 6 IP only giving up 2 runs and striking out 3. Edwin Uceta would come in and pitch 2 huge innings in the 7th and 8th striking out 3. Pete Fairbanks would shut the door in the 9th giving the Rays a huge win. The Rays come back from the All Star break beating the breaks off the Baltimore Orioles 11-1. The Rays wasted no time getting started. Junior Caminero fresh off finishing 2nd in the home run derby, launched a 3 run home run in the 1st inning. That home run went 439 ft which is the 2nd longest home run by a Rays player this year. The Home run party would continue in the 2nd inning with a solo blast by Danny Jansen. In the 3rd Josh Lowe doubled home a run to make it 5-0. The Rays would break it open in the 6th inning. Yandy Diaz hit an opposite field Grand Slam to give the Rays a 10-0 lead. Junior Caminero would hit his 2nd home run of the night to make it 11-0. Taj Bradley was Fantastic tonight for the Rays. He ended up going 6 IP only giving up 3 hits and striking out 6. The Rays will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow night. The Tampa Bay Rays blow another lead in a 4-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox. After the Red Sox got off to a 1-0 lead, Ha-Seong Kim would hit his first home run as a ray. He hit a 2 run home run in the 4th inning into the green monster to give the Rays a 2-1 lead. Junior Caminero would hit a no doubter over the green monster in the 6th. Then the bullpen would collapse again in the 7th. This time it was new Rays pitcher Bryan Baker. He gave up the lead before recording an out as the Red Sox took a 4-3 lead. The Rays bats went quietly into the night in the 8th and 9th as they pick up another loss. The bad bullpen performance overshadowed how good Taj Bradley was. Taj went 6 IP only giving up 2 hits and just 1 run. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night. The Tampa Bay Rays pick up a much needed win, beating the Twins 7-5. This was another wild game for the Rays. After the Rays took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 8th the bullpen would blow another lead. Harrison Bader would hit a 2 run home run to tie the game in the 8th. After each team went scoreless in the 9th the Rays offense would bounce back in a big way in the top of the 10th. They would score 3 runs highlighted by a Yandy Diaz RBI double. Eric Orze would come in the bottom of the 10th to shut the door for a big win. Joe Boyle pitched the bulk innings today for the Rays. The Tampa Bay Rays complete the sweep of the Royals, winning 4-0. The Rays pitching was spectacular again. Over the 3 games this series they held the Royals to just 1 run. Shane Baz had one of his best starts of his career. He went 8 IP striking out 9 and only allowing 3 hits and 0 runs. The Rays got the scoring started in the 4th inning. After a two out double by Jonathan Aranda, Jake Mangum hit a RBI triple to make it 1-0. Josh Lowe followed with a RBI single to make it 2-0. Brandon Lowe and Junior Caminero would hit back to back home runs in the 6th inning to make it 4-0 and that would be all the runs the Rays would need. The Tampa Bay Rays can't complete the sweep, loosing to the Tigers 9-3. The Rays offense sputtered a bit in this one. After a Junior Caminero home run in the 4th inning tied the game at 1 the Rays could not muster another run until the game was already out of hand. They got runners in scoring position in the 4th, 5th and 7th but could not come through. They would add a few runs in the 9th after the Tigers already had a big lead. They finished 1/8 with RISP. The Tigers would hit a big 2 run home run in the 7th inning. But they would put the game away in the 9th inning scoring 6 runs in the inning. The Rays still had a winning homestand going 4-3. The Rays will have an off day tomorrow and then head to Kansas City to start a 3 game series Tuesday.
