In this second part of meeting with Trinity (David Artman) we dive deep into how we think about God. As David says, "I never really had a problem with Jesus. It was his father." Can we find a God we can start to believe in? Can we find a way to work through all of the pain that comes from our life to make sense of our God image. David shares some amazing stories of working through his own fear of being how good God can be, and if he believed it, would it make him a heretic. We dive into some really deep theological concepts of how our image of God can create incredibly destructive outcomes like Sally Yates who killed her children to save the from hell. We discuss how most people never see a God that loves more than they can image, and instead get stuck in earning God's love. We take on the goodness of God to redeem everyone and restore everything, how we confront fear of a vengeful God. And we finally dive deep into how universalism allows us to live outside of fear. This was a powerful episode. If you've ever looked at Christian Universalism, this is the Interview is something to listen to. Grace is ultimately restorative, not retributive.https://www.davidartman.net/David's Podcast: https://www.davidartman.net/podcast

S1 Ep 12E12: Trinity - Pt 1 (ft David Artman)

In the first part of this two part episode, we interview David Artman, author of Grace Saves All. David's book is an elegant treatise on the nature of grace, and it's power to restore everything. This is called Hopeful Christian Universalism. He effectively challenges the status quo that has existed for centuries. But in doing so, he gives every human being a renewed sense of who God is and what is the response to humanity's issues.Part 1 dives into the heart of the book, the nature of Grace, reconstructing our image of God based on grace, hell, the depth of God's forgiveness, how hard it is to accept God's grace, and historical perspectives, We touch on the mental health crisis and how hell has played a massive role in our mental health.David's argument is that in grace, everyone is restored (compassion) but no one gets away with it (restorative justice). This episode is meant to challenge your theological perceptions and give our listeners something to chew on, that we think is deeply restorative. David is both humble and ridiculously smart, and we chew on some of the hardest parts of the book.FYI: We asked David what character he was in The Matrix, and he chose Trinity, which we all thought was perfect. Trinity was the one who believed in love when everything was lost. That fit David's journey perfectly.Website: https://www.davidartman.net/David's Podcast: https://www.davidartman.net/podcast

S1 Ep 2Episode 2 - A Theory of Chaos

In this episode, Jonathan shares his emerging theory on how the brain acts like AI to create an understanding of intention and ultimately chaos to manage life.
