Hello Groovers, CC:Disco is a DJ, radio host, curator, label head and party promoter. Playing disco, house and boogie cuts with her heart at the controls, CC triggers a joyous feedback loop that infects the dancefloor. There’s no pretension, only pure feeling. Recenlty we had the pleasure to be warming up the crowd at the hotspot Sideway, before she took over the CDJs and cranked on the boogie tunes until deep into the night. We also took our change to have a chat with her, and you can enjoy the interview in this special episode of Liquid Sunshine. Good times! Hello Groovers, This week we are excited to be visited by DJ Thomas Overly, from Washington DC, who is fresh back from a tour of the Antarctic. And, together with Fuzzy Logic, the science show on 2XX FM, we are going to take you on a ride over the ice, discuss melting glaciers, climate change and individual action we can take on climate change. Hello Groovers, During New Years Eve we were, like so many others in Australia, caught by terrible bushfires. By now, and after several months of burning, more than 10 million hectares of forest has been burned, much of which is in World Heritage areas and also important farm lands. Australia is the canary in the coal mine regarding the effects of worldwide climate change. Due to the inaction by the Australian government, we, the animals, the trees and the plants are suffering the consequences. As you have been listening to the Liquid Sunshine radio show for a while, you know that we acknowledge the existence of anthropogenic climate change. So, for a brief moment in the show we will display our anger at the Australian government's delusional denial of such, we are going to look at how we can take positive action and mitigate, reduce and prepare for a future on a hotter earth. Hello Groovers, Tonights program is dedicated to the divergent sounds from devout records and explores injections of profane funk into gospel music’s sacred beatitude. Completing the circular journey of a hallowed rhythm, these tracks carry sanctified messages as passed through the earthly delights of the bass and guitar groove. Mixing primitive harmonies, spacious breaks, jungle percussion, elderly rappers impersonating the devil, cast recordings, thumping bass, and James Brown impressionists, this is old time religion slathered in funk’s sinful gravy.
