It would behoove me to first say that the identifier “sovereign citizen” is an oxymoron, a contradiction in terms, if you will. A “sovereign” is above all else; a “citizen” is “a legally recognized subject of a state,” thereby subordinate to a larger body. Although, we will use that identifier throughout this episode, simply due to its notoriety and for purposes of clarity, because the tactics pursued by folks with ‘different’ labels (i.e. American State National, Freemen-on-the-land, etc.) are almost identical. That said, in the past few months, I’ve witnessed a growing number of anarchists adopting and promoting falsehoods such as the CORPORATE UNITED STATES MYTH (all caps intentional), legal remedies within the Uniform Commercial Code, courts being under admiralty law, approved for value, and customizing “private,” non-commercial license plates, among other things. Souirées at Starschmucks: A Dialogue Between Hackers & Bloggers (Audio Production) The following is an audio version of an original work of fiction by Kyle Rearden. It is a dialogue between a hacker and a blogger regarding their particular, specialized functions. I play the hacker and Melissa Rajkovich plays the blogger. Huge thanks to Melissa for lending us her voice! Expect many more of these in the future and please follow along with Kyle’s original dialogue below. [BEGIN DIALOGUE] Weekday, mid-afternoon. A blogger is furiously typing away on her laptop when a cloaked figure hovers into the coffeehouse, orders a quadruple shot expresso, and then squints in her direction. He grabs his coffee when it is served by the barista, and then he heads to the very table where she’s sitting; she glances her eyes up momentarily from her laptop screen towards him as he approaches her. Blogger: Haven’t seen you around in a while. Hacker: I figured I’d stop by and say hello. Blogger: Why? It’s not like the last time we talked it was exactly…pleasant. Hacker: If I sit down, maybe we can resolve our differences? Blogger: Whatever. I just want to finish this article really quickly first. Hacker: Fine by me. I’ll wait. A few minutes go by while the blogger types furiously, and then spends a few minutes proofreading while the hacker lazily sips his coffee, gazing out the window occasionally. Suddenly, the blogger slams her laptop screen closed. Blogger: There! I’m finally done! Hacker: Good for you. Would you like a cookie? Blogger: Don’t be a smartass. Hacker: Too late. Blogger: You’ve always been like that! Why can’t you take anything seriously? Hacker: Oh, but I do. Remember the DDoS against the FBI? Blogger: Of course, I… Hacker: …blogged about it. Yeah, I know. Blogger: That only proves your frivolity. It didn’t actually change anything for the better. And now the Bureau has a more convincing pretext for harassing individuals due to whatever they’re labeling “cybercrime” this week! Hacker: Au contraire, my dear English major (who can’t add numbers together to save her life). It showed that the FBI, as well as the State, is not the omnipotent God or almighty Oz they falsely imagine themselves to be. They can be hurt. Blogger: Perhaps, but all I’m saying is that your DDoS may have more caused more harm than good, in the endgame. Besides, you’re an engineer who can’t write anything worth a damn to communicate ideas, even if it was just a habeas corpus to get your sorry butt out of jail. Hacker: Touché! Then again, I always thought programming languages were more important than, *ugh* human languages, simply because they weren’t executable. Blogger: Not everything worthwhile must perform some function you’ve designed it to do. Don’t you have any appreciation for art? Hacker: Well, I did appreciate the sleekness of the MacBook Air’s hardware casing. Does that count? Blogger: I give up. You’re hopeless. Hacker: How so? Blogger: I always got the impression that all that mattered to you was your ability to bend reality to your will, even if was just for the lulz, as you’ve put it. Hacker: Lulz are the icing on the cake, no doubt, but what I do is more than simply just culture jamming. Blogger: Then what is it that you do, exactly? Hacker: I demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design; I am the literal embodiment of spontaneous order. Blogger: Look, I don’t like central planning either, but I fail to see your productive capabilities. It’s always seemed to me that you enjoyed screwing things up for people, yet for some reason, you’ve mostly limited yourself to targeting those who falsely imagine themselves to be our rulers. Hacker: Maybe you shouldn’t be reading the mainstream news cycle quite as much. Don’t you use Bitcoin? Blogger: Fair enough; I do accept it as donations from my readers. Hacker: Doesn’t the coding of crypto-currencies qualify as a “productive capability,” as you’ve put it? And you’re welcome, by the way. Blogger: I don’t doubt that Bitcoin is the best competitor we’ve got right now to Federal Reserve Notes, I just wish that it was anonymous enough so assassination markets could work effectively. Hacker: Ah, isn’t that destructive? Blogger: Actually, no. It’s already been shown that the assassination of specific individuals within government is less costly and more effective than a typically protracted war in the long run. The only real problem with making that practically happen is the lack of financial incentives to do so, which is perfectly understandable given the abnormally high risk involved. Commonly, people are doing everything they can just to survive, never mind pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, and certainly not revolutions of any kind. Hacker: Seriously, are you suggesting people don’t want freedom? Blogger: What I’m saying is that they’re so demoralized that they’d preferred to be carried from despotism to liberty on a feather-bed, as old man J

Land has been the preferred living headquarters by human beings for thousands of years, but let’s face it: for human beings inflicted with the “condition” of eleutheromania (a mania or frantic zeal for freedom), it has served its course, barring the abolition of the State. Thanks to the various governments’ jurisdictional claims to over 99.9% of the land on earth, it is impossible to legally live in peace–in other words, to simply be left alone–just consider taxation, harassment by the bludgies (government agents) in general, nuisance abatement, eminent domain, and all of the other grievances against private property owners that seem to be never ending. So, what’s the solution? As Rayo said, “apply your free market principles by setting sail for sunnier waters.” Literally. On this episode of Liberty Under Attack Radio, we examine one promising possibility–that is, a village at sea in international waters–it’s called Marinea. To learn more about it, I am joined by Bob LLewellyn, the project manager. We discuss the chosen location for this village at sea, the various phases, how it will be funded, some potential dangers and concerns, and why the heck they decided that a government would be necessary, among other things. Bob also alludes to my role in the project–communications specialist. I will be launching their podcast in July and will be the public relations face as the project gains in popularity; so, it’s safe to say that you’re going to hear a lot more about this project. Many folks have begun to see the value and potential of crypto-currencies, whether it’s in the pursuance of financial independence, personal freedom, or decentralization. Similarly, due to projects such as Dot-Bip, smart contracts, and more, people are beginning to see that blockchain technology could decentralize a lot of services used today and make them immune to government censorship. All of that is great, but too often throughout history, governments seize technologies such as crypto-currencies and the blockchain and use them for their own nefarious ends. What does that mean for the future of these developments in crypto-anarchism? Are we to see a decentralized, freer future, or a future unfathomably authoritarian? How can you build pathways of knowledge and understanding with others, rather than confrontations leading to tragedies? On this episode of Liberty Under Attack Radio, I am pleased to welcome back Darrell Becker from Voluntary Visions to attempt to answer that question. You post a status on Facistbook, just as you typically do. This one is hardly different than any of others–it’s simply another one pointing out the blatant contrast between the political and economic means–in other words, the parasites vs. the producers. This couldn’t possibly land you in a jail cell, right? Through a series of unfortunate events, yes it can certainly lead to that. In this bonus episode of Liberty Under Attack Radio, Shane and Jason briefly summarize the events leading up to Jeremy Henggeler’s arrest and release, discuss the seemingly non-existent options available to him, and reaffirm that it is truly dangerous to be an anarchist in a statist world. One of the main things that has always bothered me about the anarchist/libertarian community is the lack of focus on actionable solutions to find freedom now–the focus is improving, but there’s still plenty of work to be done. And, sure, the philosophy is important and I’m not discounting that, but anarchism is a radical ideology–and radical action necessarily follows. One individual who has been partaking in said radical action is Derrick Broze. Not only is he an open agorist, but he has been building local alternatives to statist institutions since he helped found the Houston Free Thinkers in 2010; some of his successes include a bustling counter-economy in Houston, community gardens, workshops teaching others how to partake in direct action, organizing freedom cells, and much more. Derrick and his co-author, John Vibes, recently released the capstone book in their trilogy called Manifesto of the Free Humans. In this book, they lay out the over-arching strategy in how to bring about personal freedom, as well as a free society, and I’ll tell you what, I absolutely love it. Building off of the foundation Samuel Edward Konkin III left, the goal is to create their own intentional community in Texas sometime in the year 2020. Following that, they hope others will emulate their example to create a wide counter-economic network of these communities. But, if the intentional community is not for you, other solutions are offered within and can be based upon the same framework. When I first became politically aware at the mere age of 18, the innocence of my past disappeared completely. My time was dominated by conspiracy theories, investigating secret societies, and trying to uncover who was trying subjugate the masses of the world behind the scenes. From that perspective, any effort but education seemed quite futile, and even then, these were the theories of “conspiracy kooks.” And, understandably, most folks didn’t give them the time of day. Desperate to find a solution to the problem that I perceived, I got involved with the highly dangerous “sovereign citizens”–these are the folks who notoriously get tossed in prison for using already debunked (and illegal) methods, such as filing commercial liens on properties of government agents. Luckily, I escaped unscathed, except for the exorbitant amount of time I wasted in yet another failed strategy. At that time, I was still a Constitutionalist, but I saw a number of glaring issues with that magic piece of parchment; I didn’t know what to do; I didn’t know what action I would recommend my readers and listeners to partake in, other than to “wake up the sheeple.” In a word, I was completely and utterly lost. But, that all changed when I discovered direct action in late 2015. Listen, I obviously want to find more personal freedom utilizing direct action, but I want you too as well. That is why I’ve devoted most of my time and effort over the last 18 months to investigating the subject, and why I make all of my discoveries available FOR FREE. On this episode of Liberty Under Attack, we talk direct action once again. I start by laying out the issues with living on land, such as taxes/regulations, governments claiming ownership/jurisdiction over the large majority of it, more contact with the bludgies (aka government agents), and more. I then lay out some possibilities of subverting those issues, while still living on land. But, for those who are open to the idea finding freedom on the open ocean, I then lay out a number of ways to find freedom on the high seas, which include: minimalist sailboating, dropping anchor right into international waters, living on a deserted island, living on a submarine, and much more. What’s even more significant is the minimal sacrifice that is needed to pursue these options–advancements in technology allow you to still have many of the amenities you currently have.
