Part Two is about development. The seven-day sequence is God's blueprint for our lives, and it applies to everything that matters in life such as love, work, school, time, finances, and relationships. God created humans to work, serve, and worship Him, and to work together with Him in creating and improving things. To achieve this, we must know where we are in terms of financial, spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical aspects of life to create a structure that will support our vision. Rylee also emphasizes the importance of striving versus contending and being willing rather than willful in achieving success. The goal of this section is to help you think about your business, research the competition, get outside opinions, and create a flexible structure that can adapt to market changes. Part 1: Discover The first part of Genesis describes God creating the world. The seven day method involves two steps: discover and develop/deploy. The discover phase involves taking time to understand God's call and how to best respond before undertaking any large task. Days one and two are part of the discover phase. How does the Bible tell us to pray? In this episode Rylee breaks down the framework for prayer, the Lord's Prayer, which Jesus taught to his disciples. The Lord's Prayer consists of seven petitions that address God's authority, provision, forgiveness, protection, guidance, and glory. It is found in the Bible in the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verse 9-13. This framework should be incorporated for all prayers. Express a desire for God's rule to be established on Earth, and for his will to be followed by all. Ask for God's provision and sustenance for the day. God doesn’t want you to be lukewarm, make a decision. Today’s episode Rylee and Christian talk about the difference between making choices and actually deciding. They share why it’s important that every choice is rooted in a decision you already made. Both discuss why deciding fatigue is a real issue not only in business but also at a personal and familiar level. Rylee continues his new series breaking down lessons we can learn as entrepreneurs by reading the creation story in Genesis. In this episode Rylee discusses order. God gave us the most basic tracking system that everyone on planet earth utilizes on Day 4 of Creation and that was the sun, moon, and stars. They allow us to track time, days, seasons, and even location. In business, tracking and analyzing metrics are critical to long term success. I said last week that on Day 3 of Creation (Structure), God gave us the playbook, and now we have Day 4 (Order), and how we run that playbook with measurables in place to determine whether or not those plays are working. I think of how metrics and analytics in the world of sports now dominate coaches' gameplans. You might think metrics are greatly emphasized more now because of newer technology, but it’s remarkable to think that metrics and measurables were on God’s mind all the way back in the beginning of time. Most of us in the King’s Council wear Whoop Bands. These bands track HRV, strain, recovery, and many measurables when it comes to sleep. They collect data, measure the data, then based on that data we can alter one or more of our controllables like sleep, diet, hydration, environment, etc. to attain desired results. Whether it’s operational or financial metrics in business, data that tells a baseball manager to take out his ace even though he only threw 80 pitches, or information on a Whoop Band that says you best get to sleep a bit earlier than normal based on last night’s numbers, remember God created these systems of tracking and measurables a long time ago for life on earth to be as efficient as it is! — The King’s Council’s mission is to help you discover and deploy your God-given talents. Rylee continues his new series breaking down lessons we can learn as entrepreneurs by reading the creation story in Genesis. A prerequisite is a thing that is required as a prior condition for something else to happen or exist. It’s anything that must be accomplished or acquired before something else can be done. We often associate prerequisites with school. In high school, a prerequisite for calculus might be algebra. In college, a prerequisite for a degree in, well almost anything, might include a math, science, and a language. A prerequisite to be president of the United States would be you have to be at least 35 years of age. For King David, the thing that may have had to be accomplished before battling Goliath could have been killing a lion with his bare hands. As God was raising up a leader for Israel who was a man after God’s own heart, maybe fending off a lion was the requirement to be able to not only stand up to a giant, but defeat him. When David engaged with that lion, he could’ve thought to himself he was just having a rough day. But for him, it was part of the process to become King and lead a nation! Our God is a God of processes and structure. Day 3 of creation reminds us that God doesn’t do anything haphazardly. He never has and He never will. There’s reason and intent for everything He’s ever done. When He created the atmosphere in Day 2, He didn’t say “it was good,” like He did after the other days, but it wasn’t because it was bad. Rylee continues his new series breaking down lessons we can learn as entrepreneurs by reading the creation story in Genesis. There’s not too many things in life more important than who or what we surround ourselves with. God knew this (of course) and it’s no wonder why in Day 2 of Creation, He created the atmosphere for all of what would come next in creation. God created the perfect atmosphere here on earth to sustain life. The air we breath is made up of mainly nitrogen, some oxygen, and a tiny amount of other gasses such as carbon dioxide. These gasses are in just the right amounts to sustain life. If there were more oxygen, a single spark could set the world on fire. If there were a more nitrogen, we would suffocate. Carbon dioxide is essential for plants to live, but is deadly to humans in large quantities. Earth’s atmosphere has only a tiny amount of carbon dioxide, which is plenty for all the plants, because they use it very efficiently, and is yet small enough to be harmless for us. It’s as if God knew the exact formula for life to be sustained! Scripture says, “Bad company corrupts good character,” which means we, as humans, can be easily influenced by those around us. If that’s the case, I’m going to do everything in my power to put myself in proximity with those who will push me, teach me, and sharpen me rather than be in a group of soothsayers or “yes men” who tell me only what I want to hear. Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.” Think about how you’ve been influenced by people closest to you in life. If you spend most of your day around people who curse a lot, chances are your mouth will get a little more foul. If you spend your day with people who are motivated, dedicated, and disciplined, chances are you will bear those traits and quickly have the fruit in your life that says so. Your environment matters! A seed will or will not take root based upon it’s atmosphere. A newborn baby shark placed into a small fish tank may only grow to be 8-10 inches long, but place that same baby shark into the ocean and it would grow to be 10-20 feet long! Think about that! Place yourself in atmosphere’s that will produce fruit. And if you find yourself in an already established negative atmosphere, be a thermostat and set a new temperature, rather than a thermometer that simply conforms and indicates the room’s temperature. -- The King’s Council’s mission is to help you discover and deploy your God-given talents. Isn’t it interesting how two different people can look at the same painting and have two completely different perspectives of it? Isn’t it crazy how two people can be in the same crummy situation, yet one moves and acts based on what they physically see while the other is unfazed by that crummy situation? Perspective can be dictated by what you see, or perspective can be established before you ever physically even see anything. Oftentimes we make decisions based on what we see and we move based on what’s in front of us. Our sight dictates our thoughts and our thoughts dictate our actions. This isn’t always bad, but what if what you see actually becomes a hindrance to your vision? I see this happen constantly and watch dreams, goals, and aspirations fall by the wayside for those who had a vision, but let their sight hinder it. What would’ve happened if David acted based on what he saw? Everyone saw this 9 foot giant named Goliath wreaking havoc amongst the people of God and were petrified. Their perspectives were, “He’s too big to be defeated!” David saw Goliath and his perspective was, “He’s too big for me to miss!” How incredible is that?! David acted not based on his sight, but rather on vision. David’s vision came from a faith in God, a confidence in God’s plan, a trust that God would lead the way in victory, and the calling God placed on his life! Now that we understand success, what is our purpose? In part three of this series, Rylee and Christian review biblical success, knowing that we all run the race to win, but are we doing what God called us to do? The key here is knowing that as Christians, we will never feel fulfillment until we have a relationship with Christ.
