Oregon has sued Donald Trump to stop him from deploying military members to the streets of Portland.Given that a federal judge in California has already ruled that Trump violated federal law when he did virtually the same thing in Los Angeles, this makes it clear that Trump's decision to do it again, this time in Portland, is a knowing, intentional, flagrant, and unapologetic violation of federal law. Donald Trump is pitting American citizen against American citizen, soldiers against civilians, military members against members of the Portland community. It seems beyond dispute that he is trying to orchestrate a civil war, where there is no cause for one, no reason for one, and no exigency that needs to be addressed. In a four-page court order that is one for the ages, Judge Steven Merryday "struck" for the record Donald Trump's complaint that he filed in his absurd $15 billion defamation suit against The New York Times.Judge Merryday, appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush. eviscerates Trump's legal filing, saying it does not comport with the Rules of Civil Procedure. The judge notes: "The reader must endure an allegation of 'the desperate need to defame with a partisan spear rather than report with an authentic looking glass' and an allegation that 'the false narrative about 'The Apprentice' was just the tip of Defendants' melting iceberg of falsehoods.' A Trump-appointed Judge, Thomas Cullen, has thrown out the lawsuit Trump had his DOJ officials file against ALL federal trial court judges in Maryland when the Chief Judge instituted a two-day pause on deportations to give the judges enough time to see if the Trump administration was violating the legal or Constitutional rights of undocumented immigrants that were being detained pending deportation. A third federal judge has denied Pam Bondi's motion to unseal the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell grand jury transcripts. Immigrants being detained by ICE at a facility in Manhattan had been complaining for weeks about unsanitary and inhumane conditions. A New York federal court judge has rejected the motion filed by DOJ/Pam Bondi/Todd Blanche to release the grand jury transcripts in the Ghislaine Maxwell case.According the ABC News, Judge Paul Engelmayer issued a lengthy opinion, criticizing the "Department of Justice for using 'demonstrably false' reasoning to justify the release of grand jury testimony."
