In this episode we have an open discussion about our attendance at the March for Life in Washington DC on January 20, 2023. We discuss the many aspects of the pro-life movement displayed on the signs we saw, and how Judaism fits into the tapestry of biblical, secular, and moral fabric of pro-life activism. We share our group member's many interactions with Christian and Catholic attendees, comment on the many signs we saw people carrying at the March, and express our gratitude for the opportunities to teach and demonstrate authentic Jewish respect for life. Rabbi Alan Betsalel Friedlander is our guest on episode 4 of our show hosted by the Root & Branch Society from Jerusalem. To point out that we must oppose tyranny and expect to be heeded by tyrannical governments, the show opens with a short video about the Aktion T4 Euthanasia Program secretly implemented by the Nazi regime to murder mentally and physically disabled people by gassing, starvation and injection. On March 25, 2022, the Connecticut Government Administration and Elections Committee heard public testimony regarding SJ 30 RESOLUTION PROPOSING A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO RECOGNIZE A RIGHT OF PERSONAL REPRODUCTIVE AUTONOMY AND FREEDOM. Rabbi Leiter was given the opportunity to share a three minute testimonial opposing the resolution. Rabbi Leiter is the Executive Director of Help Rescue our Children. His prepared remarks: (25 March,'22) BS"D Thank you for this opportunity. My name is Rabbi Noson Shmuel Leiter, Executive Director of Help Rescue Our Children, which opposes child molestation and human trafficking, among other things. I respectfully urge the legislators to oppose SJR30, which would ensconce what's described as "personal reproductive freedom and autonomy" into the Connecticut constitution. In addition to other crucial concerns aforementioned, legislators ought consider how this proposed constitutional amendment could eventually be employed by judges to STYMIE laws that help reduce teen pregnancy, and even child exploitation, & human trafficking. For instance, a Judge could rule that Age-Of-Consent or anti-trafficking laws unduly limit "reproductive freedom or autonomy." The same could be said about parental consent laws. Such a provision could even potentially result in closing Crisis Pregnancy Centers, thereby disproportionately punishing the poor and disadvantaged. Furthermore, to the extent that this amendment would facilitate recreational abortion, it would imbed state-mandated mass-killing of babies into the constitution. As such, it would (1) constitute the ultimate betrayal of the most innocent and defenseless citizens; (2) it would contravene the most foundational mandate of government, namely safeguarding innocent life; and (3) it would constitute rebellion against G-d and His Law, as it applies to all Mankind. Abortion-on-demand is unquestionably, absolutely prohibited, EVEN according to THE most lenient or permissive views within the corpus of authentic Judaism. The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) has been attacking common sense life protections for unborn children and their moms in a pro-life bill in the Kentucky house. We share an opinion piece written by a NCJW state lobbyist published in the Courier Journal. The distorted lies and propaganda in this opinion piece were repeated in house debate, so we reached out to the sponsor of the bill and the director of Kentucky Right to Life to offer our educational materials to help them respond to Jewish pro-abortion attacks on life and state representatives in the house. On 12.16.21, Rabbi Yehuda Levin invited us to be his guest on Levin@11 to discuss the rising number of abortions in the Orthodox communities and the proposed legislation in Israel to make abortion more accessible. In this episode, we note that on this day in Jewish history three of the ten martyrs who are commemorated in special Yom Kippur prayers were killed. We explore the idea of righteous martyrdom in the context of Jewish law, which usually forbids destroying human life and preserving it at all costs. However, Jewish law finds that a Jew must sacrifice his or her life rather than succumb to idolatry, sexual sin or murder. So, it seems that Jewish abortionists who commit murder in the form of abortion have a reckoning to face at some point. Events in Jewish history lists include the most impactful happenings in the chronicled development of Judaism. The absence of legal abortion legislation in Israel on these lists needs to be rectified because the Jewish lives lost to legal abortion in Israel has and continues to have a huge impact on the demographic, social, financial and spiritual evolution of Jewish culture and religion. This episode explores the moral blindness that allows Hadassah Medical Center to benefit financially from pregnancy termination and human embryonic stem cell research. Despite chronic failures of human embryonic research to provide therapeutic applications, the Medical Center continues to accept research funding that destroys human embryos derived from their very busy IVF clinic. The holiday of Shavuos is when Jews celebrate the anniversary of receiving the Torah at Mt. Sinai. To prepare for this holy day, we follow up on a suggestion from yesterday's chat to highlight the miracle of life, given by the Almighty Creator who gave us the holy book of life, the Torah. Also, from yesterday's show, a story we shared about the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) providing 1000 free abortions last year. If the Israeli government only offers killing Jewish children as the solution to unplanned pregnancy, we need to provide outreach for adoption and pregnancy care to these parents. Adoption is life saving, and needs to be offered immediately to vulnerable parents, whether they are IDF soldiers or financially distressed couples or homeless women. We share a heartwarming story about a woman dying of cancer whose twin sons, whom she had placed for adoption as infants, reunite with her at her bedside. The Jewish community has two long established adoption agencies, Embrace a Jewish Child and the Jewish Children's Adoption Network. Also, the Jewish Pro-Life Foundation maintains a list of couples who have reached out to us looking to adopt Jewish infants. We pray to reach abortion minded Jewish women and to save their children from a painful, unnecessary death - and save their Mothers from a broken heart.
