He(swt) has written upon Himself to be merciful, and His mercy encompasses all of creation. Imagine standing before Allah, trying to offer everything—wealth, status, even the entire world—to escape the punishment of Hellfire, only to realize that no ransom will be accepted. The Power of Contemplation and Supplication The last ten verses of Surah Al-Imran are deeply profound and recommended by the Prophet ﷺ as part of our morning remembrance (adhkar). These ayat transition seamlessly from reflecting on Allah’s creation to invoking du’a and then witnessing Allah’s direct response. “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of the night and day, are signs for those of understanding.” (Surah Al-Imran 3:190) The Qur’an repeatedly calls us to reflect on the natural world, using it as evidence of Allah’s existence. Taraweeh Teachings Day 4- Understanding the Role of Men & Women in Islam In Surah An-Nisa, Allah lays down the framework for the relationship between men and women, particularly within marriage. This surah addresses responsibilities, rights, and the divine balance that Allah has created between the two genders. "Men are the protectors and maintainers (qawwamoon) of women, because Allah has made one excel over the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their wealth." (Surah An-Nisa 4:34) This does not imply superiority or control, but rather a responsibility of care, provision, and protection. Taraweeh Teachings Day 3- Holding Fast to the Rope of Allah One of the most powerful ayat in the Quran that defines the unity of the Muslim Ummah is: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you—when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make His signs clear to you, so that you may be guided.” (Surah Aal Imran 3:103) This verse is a reminder to all Muslims that our unity is not based on nationality, race, or ethnicity, but on our adherence to Islam and the Quran. Last night during Taraweeh, a simple yet profound moment unfolded. The imam recited a short passage from Surah Al-Baqarah, including the ayah: “Establish the Salah, give the Zakah, and bow down with those who bow.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:43) Immediately upon reaching this command, he made takbir and went into ruku, and we all followed. This incident made Dr. Wahid reflect: Isn’t this how we should treat all of Allah’s commands? 🔹 When we hear “Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High”, we say Subhana Rabbiyal A‘la. 🔹 When we hear “Send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ”, we say Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad. 🔹 But why don’t we apply the same principle to the rest of the Quran’s commands?
