Les applications mobiles et sites de paris en ligne sont en plein essor au Sénégal, constituant un danger pour la santé mentale des jeunes. Des milliers de jeunes qui s'adonnent aux jeux d'argent dans l'espoir de s'en sortir financièrement, finissent par être ruinés. Certains psychologiquement atteints, d'autres passent des mois en prison pour des faits liés aux jeux d'argent. Dans ce reportage, nous avons essayé de trouver des réponses aux différentes questions liées à ce phénomène qui détruit la jeunesse senegalaise.

Senegal's president Bassirou Diomaye Faye visited on Thursday neighbouring Mauritania on his first official trip abroad since his inauguration.Both countries share offshore oil and gas wells and their exploitation is expected at the end of this year. After Mauritania, president Faye is due to visit another neighboring country, Gambia, on next Saturday. What are the main reasons leading to these two destinations ? Channel Africa's Amadou Barry reports from Dakar.

C'est l'une des décisions du deuxième conseil des ministres sous le nouveau président : la publication des rapports des 5 dernières années de l'Office national de lutte contre la fraude et la corruption, l'Inspection générale d'État et la Cour des comptes. Une promesse de rupture qui séduit au Sénégal. Dans la presse ce matin, les rapports ont commencé à fuiter et de nombreux ministres qui ont servi sous Macky Sall sont cités.La publication des rapports est une vielle doléance des organisations qui militent pour la transparence et la reddition des comptes comme l'ONG "publiez ce que vous payez ". Les militants mains propres se félicitent de cette mesure et attendent avec impatience des actes forts de rupture. À Dakar, la correspondance d'Amadou Barry.

Vainqueur dès le premier tour avec 54.28% des voix le 24 mars dernier, Bassirou Diomaye Faye a été investi ce matin président de la République du Sénégal. A 44 ans, le plus jeune président de l'Histoire du Sénégal a prêté serment dans la ville nouvelle de Diamniadio, à une trentaine de kilomètres de Dakar. Dans son allocution, il promet un Sénéga "d'espérance, un pays apaisé avec une justice indépendante", sous son règne. Il a rendu hommage aux victimes tombées avant l'organisation de l'élection.Amadou Barry revient sur les temps forts de l'investiture du cinquième président du Sénégal.

Ahead of the independence day celebrated on April 4th Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Senegal's new president, addressed the nation in a televised address on Wednesday evening. In his statement he promised several institutional reforms like the judiciary, he also promised to address the unemployment issue, to fight corruption and enhance good governance.  Amadou Barry reports from Dakar.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Human Rights watch have both issued an alarming report today on the tense situation in Senegal following elections delay.They are calling for urgent measures to respect human rights in the country.Amadou Barry reports from Dakar.

On Monday, Dakar Senegal's capital was calmer than usual. Clasheserupted in some neighborhoods of the capital. The police andgendarmerie deployed a heavy security patrol in the streets. OnSunday, the police cracked down on demonstrators who were protestingagainst the chief of State to delay elections. Amid political tensions Senegal's minister of Justice updated on Tuesday the media on the recent release of hundreds of detainees. According to Aissata Tall Sall this was done to relieve the prisons and end pretrial detention in the country. So far over 300 prisoners have been released since last Thursday and others are expected to follow, disclosed the minister. About the release of the top opposition figure Ousmane Sonko and Bassirou Diomaye Faye his deputy party leader, 'everything is possible' according to her. Amadou Barry, our correspondent in Dakar, attended the presser.
