I don't have to tell you that the world we're living in is pretty crazy and chaotic. There's a lot of confusion, division, projection, anger, and fear out there. So, what do we do with that collective consciousness of fear, separation, and illusion that's so prevalent in the world today? What do we do with that, as lightworkers, as healers, as people who have a strong mission to be of service or to DO something to raise the level of consciousness on this planet? I know for many of us there's a deep sense of purpose and taking action, in one way or another, to change things, to dismantle the old paradigms, to contribute to the evolution, liberation, and enlightenment of humanity. This isn't an easy or quick task. As lightworkers, we hold sacred responsibilities to awaken the light in ourselves and others (and SEE the light in ourselves and others) during crazy times of upheaval and social or political unrest -- when we see so many egoic agendas running the show on many levels of society, government, corporations, and so on. Projection is a defense mechanism where someone displaces their own unresolved feelings or thoughts onto another person or group. It's a way for people to cope with emotional discomfort and conflict without acknowledging their own emotions. We've all projected our stuff unconsciously onto others at times... and we've also been the recipients of others' projections. In the world we're living in today, there's SO much projection going on. As lightworkers and spiritually awake people, we need a strategy to (1) protect ourselves from others' projections and (2) be conscious and mindful enough so WE don't project our stuff onto others, either. We're living through a time of collective awakening. Those of us on the spiritual path are being challenged to rise above and stay OUT of the confusion, fear, division, reactivity, and projection we often see and experience out in the world. How comfortable are you with uncertainty, like when you don't know how something is going to turn out? When you have to wait to find out the outcome of something in your life? Or when you set out on an unknown path, without being able to see where it's going to lead you? Many of us have a limited tolerance for uncertainty. We might experience uncertainty as a threat, as something we need to fix or avoid at all costs. For me, uncertainty and being in a state of not knowing have often felt deeply uncomfortable (along with some other anxiety patterns I've experienced in this lifetime). We're all on a continuum of how much uncertainty we can tolerate before we start experiencing inner tension, discomfort, and stress. (Along with a strong need to resolve the uncertainty.) If you're like me, you might have an inner part of you who we might call the "reassurance seeker." This is the part of us that doesn't know how to sit with uncertainty, that wants to know everything in advance, that might over-prepare for things and/or seek reassurance or validation from others.
