Lauren Agee was a 21-year-old college student whose death in July 2015 remains a mystery. She was attending WakeFest, a wakeboarding festival at Center Hill Lake in Tennessee, with friends. Her body was discovered in the lake by fishermen after she had been camping on a cliff near the festival. David Emery Misch started getting into trouble at just 16 years old and was in and out of prison in California for various crimes throughout his 20s. In 1989, he was caught and convicted for the murder of Margaret Ball. Little did investigators know, Misch had committed at least 3 other murders prior to this between jail sentences - but it took decades before he was connected to those cases with DNA evidence. In 2024, he was convicted of the double murder of Michelle Xavier and Jennifer Duey from 1986. And now, Misch is awaiting trial for the 1988 abduction and murder of Michaela Garecht. Audrey May Herron was a 31-year-old nurse and mother of three who disappeared on August 29, 2002, in Catskill, New York. She was last seen leaving her workplace, the Columbia-Greene Long Term Care Facility, after her evening shift. Audrey was driving her black 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which also vanished without a trace. Despite extensive searches and investigations, her case remains unsolved. Michaela Garecht was enjoying the start to her Thanksgiving break in November 1988 when she and her best friend rode their scooters to the market in Hayward, California. As they left, the 9 year old girls noticed that Michaela’s scooter was not at the entrance, but had been moved to the parking lot. As she went to grab her scooter, a man jumped out of the van next to her and in one fell swoop, threw her into the van and drove off. Unfortunately, Michaela has never been found, but after over three decades as a cold case, in 2020 a man was charged with her murder. Gage Jackson was a 19-year-old from Punta Gorda, Florida, who was reported missing in March 2019. Eleven days later, his body was discovered in Prairie Creek by fishermen. Despite years of investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with his death. Authorities believe that individuals close to Gage may have critical information but have not come forward. A reward for information leading to an arrest has grown significantly over the years, reflecting the community's determination to seek justice. Jody Fern Howard disappeared on October 7, 1991, from a gas station in Wolf Point, Montana, located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. She was 28 years old at the time and a member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. Her case remains unsolved, and she was not reported missing until November 10, 1991, over a month later. Jody’s disappearance is one of many unresolved missing person cases in Montana, highlighting the broader issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the United States. Something has to change…. She went missing on January 27, 2025, from a group home in Mesa, Arizona. Emily's case has drawn some attention to the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), highlighting the systemic issues that disproportionately affect Indigenous communities. Rachel Hurley’s friends remember her spinning on her heel, flipping her hair, and sprinting down the path away from them to go meet her mother on March 17th, 1990. But she never made it to the park less than a mile away. That night, Rachel’s body was found, but what happened to her remains a mystery 35 years later. On July 1st, 2013, on a residential street in Saginaw, Texas, the body of a young girl was discovered under a tarp. The body belonged to 6-year-old Alanna Gallagher, who had been missing for just hours. Just over two weeks later, the car belonging to Alanna’s parents was set on fire, as was a memorial for Alanna. Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott was just starting to pursue her dream of studying marine biology at the University of New Hampshire in October 2012 when she went over to watch a movie with a friend, Kat McDonough, and was never seen again. Kat lived with her boyfriend who was over a decade older than her. Upon questioning, Seth Mazzaglia admitted that Lizzi had died by accident and they had disposed of her body… but at his trial, the truth came out. Lizzi was “like a ray of sunshine” and cared deeply for animals and others. Jean Spangler, an aspiring actress in Hollywood, vanished on the evening of October 7, 1949. She was last seen leaving her home in Los Angeles, telling her sister-in-law she was going to meet her ex-husband, Dexter Benner, to discuss a child support payment before heading to a film set. However, she never returned home. Despite extensive investigations, no conclusive evidence was found, and Jean's fate remains a mystery. Various theories have been proposed, including a botched abortion, involvement with gangsters, and connections to the infamous Black Dahlia case, but none have been substantiated and to this day, her case remains unsolved. When his parents returned home from work, they found a note from Christopher saying he had something important to do and would be back by 6 p.m. Christopher took the family's blue 1988 Dodge Caravan, which was found abandoned two days later near Grand Rapids, Minnesota. 25 year old Taylour Young disappeared from Houston, Texas on December 9th, 2021. Other than surveillance video of his car driving near a bank in Houston on the 9th, his whereabouts remained unknown until nearly a month later when his car was found 250 miles away in Dallas. Unfortunately, Taylour’s body was found in the trunk of his car. Officially, his cause of death remains “undetermined”, but his family is sure he met with foul play. Today, 3 years later, his murder remains unsolved with the case classified as ongoing - with no motive or suspects identified. When Rebecca Coriam was 24-years-old, she disappeared from the Disney Wonder cruise ship, where she was working as a crew member. She was last seen on March 22, 2011 around 5:45 am on CCTV footage in the crew lounge, appearing visibly distressed during a phone call. Amber Tuccaro disappeared in Edmonton, Canada in August 2010. Despite her family being worried, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were reluctant to call her a missing person. Unfortunately, the investigation was botched from the beginning with several missteps by the RCMP leading to Amber’s case going cold. 2 years later, Amber’s body was found in Leduc County, and her case became a homicide investigation. An audio recording from a phone call Amber made while she was in the car with the suspect was released, but the man could not be identified. Amber’s family is sure that the fact that she was an Indigenous Canadian woman was a part of why the RCMP mishandled the investigation into her case. Amber’s case remains unsolved to this day. His disappearance received nationwide attention and led to a scandal involving the Los Angeles Police Department. Walter's mother, Christine Collins, gave him money to go to the cinema, but he never returned home. Five months later, a boy claiming to be Walter was found in Illinois, but Christine insisted that he was not her son. The case took a darker turn when it was later revealed that Walter had likely been murdered by a serial killer in Wineville, California. On December 8th, 2013, a fire broke out at the home of the Klaus family in Castor, Alberta, Canada. The remains of three members of the Klaus Family - Gordon, Sandra, and Monica - were discovered once the fire was put out. While at first, the fire was believed to be a tragic accident, investigators uncovered evidence pointing to something more sinister. Melissa Brannen was a five-year-old girl who disappeared on December 3, 1989, from a Christmas party at her apartment complex in Lorton, Virginia. On the evening of April 4, 1991, Angela Hammond, was abducted from a phonebooth in Clinton, Missouri. She was calling her fiancé, Rob Shafer, from a pay phone when she mentioned seeing a suspicious green Ford truck. Shortly after, she screamed, and Rob heard the call being cut off. Despite extensive search efforts, Angela has never been found, and her case remains one of the most notorious cold cases in the United States. 23 year old Mackenzie Lueck went missing after returning to Utah in June 2019. Her Lyft driver saw her get into another person’s car, and using digital analysis, investigators were able to identify who that person was. When searching his home, they made a horrible discovery. On May 30, 1992, 19-year-old Scottish student Amanda Duffy was brutally murdered in a violent act that shocked her community. The main suspect in this heinous crime, Francis Auld, faced trial for murder in the High Court of Justiciary in Glasgow. However, he was acquitted when the jury returned a majority verdict of "not proven," leaving many questions unanswered. After years and years of tireless efforts by Amanda's family, who persistently sought to have Auld retried in their quest for justice for their daughter, the case seemed to come to a sudden and unfortunate halt in 2017 due to some very challenging circumstances. Anna Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, gained notoriety for posing as a wealthy German heiress to infiltrate herself in New York’s social elite. For years, she used her self-proclaimed wealth to scam and defraud some of the city’s biggest socialites, prominent banks and high-end hotels in New York City. She was arrested in 2017 and convicted of grand larceny in the first, second third degree as well as theft of services. After serving her time and being released from prison, she was detained by ICE for violating the terms of her VISA. She remains on house arrest today while she fights her deportation, but you would never know - she has a large social media following, a podcast, is filming a reality show, and recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars (wearing her ankle monitor). Amber-Lee Cruickshank was 2.5 years old when she disappeared on October 17, 1992, from Kingston, New Zealand, located on the southern shores of Lake Wakatipu. She was last seen at the home of her stepfathers friends where her family had stopped for the evening. Around 5:30 pm she was last seen by their friend Belinda and then she was never seen again. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow went on a 21-month long crime spree along with the “Barrow Gang” in the 1930s, committing 12 murders and many robberies, car thefts, and kidnappings. On May 23rd, 1934, the couple was ambushed with over 100 bullet holes marking their car, which is on display in Nevada to this day. After their deaths, a movie was released about the couple, romanticizing their lives and crimes - but they were bandits and serial killers that are still referenced to this day. On January 4th, 2008, a clerk at a gas station in DeKalb County, Georgia watched a man vacuuming out his van. Just hours earlier, the clerk had seen that same man in news reports – he was identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of a woman from three days prior. This man was Gary Hilton, and while he was initially only a person of interest in the disappearance and murder of Meredith Emerson, he ended up being charged with 4 murders in total (and suspected of many more) and became known as the “National Forest Serial Killer” who killed Meredith Emerson, Cheryl Dunlap, and Irene and John Bryant in 2007 and 2008. On March 14, 1960, 47-year-old Frances Murphy, 50-year-old Mildred Lindquist, and 50-year-old Lillian Oetting took a four-day trip to Starved Rock State Park, in LaSalle County, Illinois. After checking into the Starved Rock Lodge, the three women decided to take an afternoon hike to the St. Louis Canyon. Unfortunately, they were never seen alive again. Two days later, Frances, Mildred and Lillian were found inside a cave in the canyon. All 3 women were partially nude, bound with twine and their faces had been bludgeoned beyond recognition. Whitney Cerak and Laura van Ryn were involved in a tragic accident in April of 2006. In June 1979, a fire broke out on the Ghost Train ride at Luna Park, an amusement park in New South Wales, Australia. The fatal fire that took 7 lives was blamed on electrical faults, but arson is suspected with questions about a connection to notorious Sydney underworld figure Abe Saffron. On September 23rd, 2019, Stephanie Parze filed an assault domestic violence complaint against her boyfriend, John Ozbilgen. By October, weird things were occurring at Stephanie’s house in Freehold Township, New Jersey, and she told her family she believed someone was breaking in and messing with her. The Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, a public hospital in New Jersey operated for 67 years providing long-term treatment for adults and children, has been riddled with allegations of abuse, neglect and hospital escapees. The hospital was demolished in 2015, but to this day, some say the land the hospital once sat on remains haunted and legend of a murderous farmer occupying the slaughterhouse is still told among those who visit.
