Hello!

Today, I speak to former professional athlete, reality TV star & now one of the most unexpected & recognisable faces of BookTok, Luke Bateman. What began as a love for reading in his tractor on his farm in rural QLD quickly evolved into Luke building one of the most engaged reading communities online.

In this conversation, Luke speaks candidly about his gambling addiction & the moment he realised he needed support when he decided to make the call to head to rehab. He opens up about the lessons he learnt through his time in rehabilitation & how, at the end of the day, family relationships really are the most important thing. We dive deep into books, BookTok and how reading transformed from an escape into a passion that rewrote his entire future.

This conversation explores themes of addiction, recovery & mental health. If you or someone you know is struggling and needs support, please head to the National Gambling Helpline website here or contact the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858.
