'I survived the volcanic eruption, but my dad and sister didn't' with Stephanie Browitt
Hello! Today I’m joined by Stephanie Browitt. Stephanie is a survivor of a volcanic eruption that tragically claimed the lives of her sister and her father. She experienced severe burns to 70% of her body and has since shown incredible strength throughout her recovery, documenting her journey online. In this conversation, Stephanie reflects on her time recovering in hospital, the deeply emotional experience of saying goodbye to her dad, and the promise she made to find the strength to walk to the lectern and speak at her sister’s and father’s funeral. She also talks about the incredible support from her mum, Marie, who, even while grieving the loss of her husband and daughter, was always there for Stephanie. This is an incredible story of resilience and a powerful reminder of the importance of family. If you'd like to support Stephanie, you can purchase her book Out of the Ashes here! 3 Life Lessons with Rhiannon Joyce
Hello! A very exciting episode today! We’re joined by Rhiannon Joyce, Shameless Media’s Chief Commercial Officer. In this conversation, Rhi opens up about her relationship with accountability and how labels can sometimes become a convenient way to justify behaviour. We explore how she shows up as a leader, the balance between leading with facts versus feelings, and why being direct can be both a strength and a challenge. Rhi also reflects on her relationship with her husband, Lewis, why a house by the lake in Yarrawonga is her favourite place in the world, and the importance of recognising that it’s okay not just to want your partner, but to need them too.
