Character, story, once upon a time. These words are commonly used as descriptors whenever a work of fiction is either being crafted or told. As Pastor JD suggests in his message today, we as believers would do well to refrain from such words when referring to God's Word. The earth is groaning and tired. It was created to be beautiful and good, but it has bore the brunt of man’s wickedness for thousands of years, and as Pastor JD warns in today’s message, the earthquakes that California just experienced, as well as many others around the world, are increasing in frequency and intensity just as Scripture warns they will as the day of Christ’s return approaches.

Day in and day out, you hear rumors and threats of war, news of earth quakes, fires, floods, and atrocities committed at the hands of men. It’s not a time to be complacent. It’s time to be actively seeking God and spreading His Truth.

If the Lord is all knowing, why then do we need to make our requests known to Him? As Pastor JD points out in today's message, the answer is because of what it does to you! Of course, the Lord knows what you will say before you say it, but when you present your requests to the Lord through prayer, it changes you.

You were not created for this life but eternal life with the Lord Almighty. Remember this when you face trials and tribulation, this life is not the end, there is so much more to come, which in turn will make today's struggles bearable.

Just as David was known as someone who was after God’s own heart, can others say this of you? The more you get to know God, the more you’ll love what He loves and hate what He hates. Getting stuck in the here and now is such an easy trap to fall into. Limiting God can become a reality in your life if you’re not focusing on God and the bigger picture.
