Maritiem archeoloog dr. Yftinus van Popta is te gast. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op de geschiedenis van de Noordoostpolder. Wim, Arjen en Tina spreken met hem over o.a. de verdronken dorpen Marcnesse, Nagele, Fenehuysen I en Fenehuysen II en het gevonden scheepwrak van de Queen Anne.

Onze gast is hoogleraar Psychosomatiek Judith Rosmalen. Met haar hebben we het over Somatisch Onvoldoende verklaarde Lichamelijke Klachten (SOLK). Wim en Nanna interviewen Caspar van den Berg, hoogleraar Global and Local Governance aan de Campus Fryslân in Leeuwarden. Hij vertelt over zijn onderzoek naar de groeiende sociale en economische ongelijkheid tussen bruisregio's en krimpregio's. Hij legt hierbij de relatie met o.a. de recente boerenprotesten en de invloed die het heeft op het stemgedrag van mensen en noemt dit ook wel "de wraak van de vergeten regio's". Daarnaast vertelt Arjen Dijkstra over de rol van de universiteit in Friesland door de jaren heen.

Te gast is prof. dr. Louwrens Hacquebord. Veertig jaar geleden organiseerde hij met het Arctisch Centrum van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen de eerste archeologische expeditie van de RUG naar Spitsbergen. Nu opent 7 december de tentoonstelling "Spitsbergen 79" in het Universiteitsmuseum die een beeld geeft van de werkomstandigheden van de onderzoekers op Spitsbergen destijds. Wim, Nanna en Arjen interviewen hem over zijn ervaringen tijdens de expeditie.

Amina Helmi is hoogleraar Dynamica, Structuur en Vorming van de Melkweg aan de RUG. Eind 2018 publiceerde ze in Nature over haar onderzoek naar de vorming van onze Melkweg en de ontdekking dat de Melkweg ongeveer 10 miljard jaar geleden is samengesmolten met een ander sterrenstelsel. Vrijdag 21 juni is bekendgemaakt dat zij de Spinoza Premie 2019 zal ontvangen, de hoogste Nederlandse wetenschappelijke onderscheiding. Wim en Arjen interviewen haar over haar onderzoek en wat deze onderscheiding voor haar betekent.

Dieren worden steeds vaker ingezet in therapie met kinderen. Maar werkt het ook en zo ja, hoe werkt het dan? Dr. Steffie van der Steen onderzoekt dit en wordt door Wim Brons en Arjen Dijkstra geïnterviewd over haar onderzoek naar de werking van dierondersteunde interventies (diertherapie). Arjen heeft het laatste wetenschapsnieuws en in het kader van Intellectual Property (IP) week spreken we met de mensen van het Oceangrazer project en het IP-team.

Wim en Nanna praten met hem o.a. over zijn oratie: "Toegepaste statistiek: van ontwikkeling tot communicatie", factchecken, statistiek in de media en de onderwijsstaking. In gesprek met Wim Brons en Nanna Hilton vertellen zij over hun onderzoek naar de effecten van de aardbevingen in Groningen op de gezondheid en de veiligheid die mensen ervaren.
