Show Notes

Our episode today is about the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine for researchers and scholars. We focus on initiatives and actions within the Dutch and Groningen academic community and what can be done to help refugees and people at risk. Wim and Tina interview Marie-Jose van Tol, professor of Mood and Cognition. As chair of De Jonge Akademie of the KNAW, she is very involved in coordinating activities and initiatives for Ukrainian researchers and scholars. Our second guest is Hedderik van Rijn, professor at our Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. He is using his SlimStampen adaptive learning tool to help refugees learn the language of the country they're currently staying in.
