Ep 135Red White and Blind - with Tony Brasunas

TONY BRASUNAS, independent journalist and author of the forthcoming RED, WHITE & BLIND: The Truth About Censorship in America and the Rise of Independent Media, which aims to explore media distortion and disinformation in the U.S. as well as the upswell of independent media that has risen up to combat it.An independent journalist, Tony Brasunas was censored and sacked by Huffington Post in 2016 for covering the Democratic Primary from the wrong perspective. He's been researching censorship, media distortion, and disinformation in America for five years now, with the distinct hope that the underlying facts about "fake news" in America -- and the disinformation that is peddled every day in our corporate media -- will inspire Americans to exercise and defend our rights to Free Speech and a Free Press. He grew up in an intentional community in West Virginia, spent an adventurous year in China being lied to by their media, and lives now with his wife and son in Sebastopol, California. Websites and Social Media Coordinates:www.tonybrasunas.com www.redwhiteandblind.comLinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/tonybrasunasFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/tonybrasunasTwitter: https://twitter.com/TonyBrasunasYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TonyBrasunasHere's a few ways you can support the show:Share the show with a friendLeave us a 5-star review: Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, PodchaserUnderstand yourself and others a little better, learn the why and how behind the things people do, with a personality assessment Listen on a podcast 2.0 app like FountainBuy me a book from my Amazon wish listDonate some Auponic credits to the show

Ep 132Where did you come, from where did you go?

This episode is a look back at 2022, the goals I set and accomplished (or didn't), and a look forward to the things I want to do, be, and have for 2023.“Perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything, it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing.” ― sylvia plath“Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments of someone’s life. Be the light that helps others see; it is what gives life its deepest significance.” ― Roy T. Bennett“Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.” ― Roy T. Bennett“Anyone whose goal is 'something higher' must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.” ― Milan KunderaResources mentioned in show:LevelUP membershipSet Your Compass review/preview worksheetFollow the Constructive Liberty podcast and join in the conversation:Telegram channelTelegram groupMeweFB pageYT channelOdysee channelRumbleIMPACT Driven website Here's a few ways you can support the show:Share the show with a friendLeave us a 5-star review: Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, PodchaserUnderstand yourself and others a little better, learn the why and how behind the things people do, with a personality assessment Listen on a podcast 2.0 app like FountainBuy me a book from my...

Ep 121Goal Pyramid

When you're the "everything" person, as so many of us are, as solo-preneurs, it can be super difficult to think of only having ONE goal. What works well for me is to think of it as a pyramid, with the ONE BIG GOAL of the impact you want to have, or life you want to live, at the top. That goal needs to rest on a solid foundation, with each level below it slightly larger and expanding outward. There may be layers and levels that don't seem to be DIRECTLY tied into the goal, but as an element of what you want in life it can still be pertinent to what you're building. I know it can be hard to FOCUS on one single aspect or element of the pyramid you're building, and ultimately only you can decide what you want in your life. Just remember, you'll move faster if you focus on one foundational block at a time, rather than building multiple blocks at once. That's not to say you need to drop everything to focus on your food systems, or podcast, etc. But to give the appropriate time to what's necessary, and then to laser focus on the one building block until it's running smoothly, then add the next block.I hope that helps you out as you decipher what to focus your attention on.

Ep 118Loving the little things through the big storms of life - Lexi Miller

Lexi says:By focusing our attention on what nurtures and sustains us in life. On everything that brings you even the smallest amount of pleasure. It also means practicing gratitude by noticing these everyday things that you take for granted so easily. And it makes the storm small and easier to find your way out. I have had my share of big storms that just seemed to come in waves. And it felt like I was being dragged out to sea further and further. And when I would find something as small as a verse or a smile from a strange. I was able to find my way back. I’ve have a lot of trauma and abuse that would happened repeatedly and it wasn’t until it got bad one time to the point where my counselor said, “ Lexi you have to choose Life or death.” And find the little things to keep going. That I final was able to see some of the good life could offer. Follow her on Insta.

Ep 117Haw Can Discomfort FUEL Your SUCCESS??

Consistent intentional action towards a definite goal will create progress and allow you to achieve a life and career you LOVE! ~ Ken EashSegments: Product of the day: CryptoLabs passive income membershipMake life fun againWhat I'm doing to grow my income portfolioUpcoming events and memberships (email [email protected] to join)30 day debt freedom courseLevelUp membershipMonday evening livestreams on Empowering Forward Momentum YouTubeMain topic: Being Uncomfortable Is a Part of Achieving Your DreamsMany aspects of pushing forward towards success involve getting out of your comfort zone. Your whole life, you may have very well been somewhat sheltered, or have gotten used to just rolling with the punches as they came to you. This kind of mindset doesn’t work so well for being successful, and changing the things that you’ve known your whole life can be a scary jump to make. However, everyone goes through it at some point. Being uncomfortable may seem like a bad thing, but there are positive aspects to it. When you’re nervous, it means that you know you’re doing something that you wouldn’t normally do. This is a step forward - you doing something out of character - and knowing this means progress is being made. You’re no longer stuck in that same rut - you’re changing things up. You should know that going into your journey to success, you’ll face a lot of adversity and struggles. There will be times when you’re upset, feeling stuck, feeling uncertain, and all kinds of things. However, those negative feelings are greatly outweighed by the feeling of accomplishment you get when you start to reach your goals. Eventually, you can learn to embrace the nervousness and the worries that come with taking on something unfamiliar. Even if you have to put on a smile at first, you’ll soon find yourself loving being in new situations with tons of opportunities to do something that will help you succeed. You’ll finally be breaking up the monotony of everyday life with new, refreshing experiences. There are many people that claim that nothing worth having comes easily, and the same can be said for your path to success. You’re trying to retake your life and change it all up for the better. This is a daunting task, because you’ve spent so much time in your old, unfulfilling life that you don’t know whether or not you’ll succeed in this new mindset and lifestyle. However, it’s much better to have at least tried. Even if you were to fail to become successful with a new strategy, you’ll be able to sleep easily knowing that you did give it your all. If not, you’ll end up with regrets later in life about not having tried. On the other hand, you might end up successful after all, and you’ll finally be able to live that life you’ve always dreamed of. Ep 116Simplify Your Life, and Off Grid Tiny House Living with Ariel from Fy Nyth

Ariel, along with her husband Clay, their dogs, cats, bees, and poultry, lives in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and they are working on setting up their own new little homestead. She's been living this lifestyle since 2014 and her wonderful partner has joined her more recently. They collect and split wood for heat, source water from a gravity feed out of a natural spring, use a composting toilet, have a small solar setup, and attempt to grow, hunt, or forage as much of their own food as possible between the weather and wildlife. Living a little over 6000 feet above sea level tucked into the mountains means it's a somewhat harsh and cold climate with snow on the ground 8+ months a year and potential frost, freezes, and even snow flurries all summer long. Ariel loves to garden, cook, can/freeze/ferment/dehydrate food, hike and backpack in the mountains, and photograph the tame and wild animals she is surrounded by. And share the skills she has learned with others.Follow and connect with Ariel:https://odysee.com/@FyNyth:dyoutube.com/fynythmewe.com/i/fynythmewe.com/join/arielcelestephotographyarielcelestephotography.zenfolio.comfynyth.blogspot.comhttps://flote.app/user/FyNyth

Ep 102Anxiety Overload

We all get anxious from time to time. It's natural. However, sometimes anxiousthoughts take over, leaving us paralyzed with doubt and worry. Using these ninetips can help you quiet your anxious mind.1. Stop and Pay Attention to Your BodyWhen you feel those familiar feelings arise within you, stop and listen to yourbody. Where does the stress show up? Where do you feel the tension? Do youfeel ill in your stomach or chest? Make a conscious effort to breathe slowly.2. Challenge Your Anxious ThoughtsIt is common to have angry, anxious, or irrational thoughts. Most of thesethoughts often center on what you perceive as worst-case scenarios. Counterthese thoughts with questions such as 'how likely is this to happen?' or 'is thisa rational thought?'3. BreatheNotice how your breath grows shallow when you are anxious. The shallowbreaths trigger the fight-or-flight mechanism in your brain. It's a good idea topractice breathing techniques regularly, so you will be in the habit when youreally need them.4. Decide on One Action You Can Do Right NowTaking action is the best way to combat anxious thoughts that paralyze you. What specific action can you take toward solving the issue that worries you?Now do it.5. Tidy Up Your Home or DeskClutter causes anxiety to increase in us all. Why not combat it one pile at atime? For example, while waiting for your coffee to brew, sort through a stackof papers on your desk. Spending 5-10 a day results in 35-50 minutes a week—and a cleaner house or desk.6. Schedule Time to Think about What Makes You AnxiousLet yourself have 15 minutes each week to let your mind unleash its worry. Ifanxious thoughts arise outside of this time, tell yourself you will listen to thosethoughts at the scheduled time. This gives you back control.7. Make Relaxing a PriorityAnxious minds need rest and relaxation. Make relaxation a priority. Read agood book. Take a nap. Meditate. Binge-watch your favorite sitcom series.Take a hike. Do what makes you feel relaxed. Your body's central nervoussystem will enjoy the reboot and better prepare you for future anxious times.8. Get the Right Amount of SleepGiving your body the right amount of sleep cannot be understated. Sleepdeprivation will cause you to focus on negative thoughts. It will affect yourphysical and mental health. Determine the best amount of sleep for your bodyand do everything possible to get it. Make your bedroom a haven.9. Break Out the Crayons and Coloring BooksIt sounds childish, but coloring can work wonders to relax your mind andchange your focus. Choose your favorite coloring book, and get started nexttime you feel a little anxious.Join in on the Success: 30 Day Challenge.Listen to The Strangest Secret every day for 30 days. Take notes, write out your thoughts, your dreams, your goals, and your feelings that come up.Come back at the end of the month and see how your life has changed.

Ep 100How to have more HAPPINESS in Life

‎“The world is moving so fast these days that the man who says it can’t be done is generally interrupted by someone doing it.” Elbert Hubbard“In my experience, there’s no secret to accomplishing almost any goal worth pursuing.” Lauren GrahamMy answer to last week's question: What are you laser focused on accomplishing in life? creating a lifestyle of freedom continuing to grow my personal brand impacting people through my coaching/consulting biz developing at least 5 sources of income financial independenceMain topic:How to have MORE happiness in life.9 tips:1. Wake Up with a Purpose for the DayStart the day before you leave bed by focusing on the good things you areabout to achieve. An excellent practice to implement is to think that you “get”to go to work, not “have” to. The simple change can be monumental for yourattitude.2. Make Your BedWhen you make your bed first thing in the morning, you set the course for therest of your day. This task takes about three minutes, but it signals that youcan keep the momentum up and accomplish much more. You'll also be muchhappier when it is finally time to go to bed, and it is tidy and ready for you.3. Declutter Your HomeA little declutter can be very cathartic and put a smile on your face when youare done. Stacks of books, papers, and even dirty dishes send messages toyour gloomy psyche and raise stress levels. Taking 15 minutes to declutteryour table, kitchen counter, or desk will bring a quick smile.4. Display Sentimental ItemsSome items bring back fond memories of family and friends. Why not putthem on display to remind yourself of some good times? It can be the cheesybobblehead from a trip to see the world’s most giant ball of yarn, but everytime you see it, you remember your laughs during that trip.5. Take a Walk in NatureMother Nature has much to offer, including bringing you a ray of happiness.Grab your walking shoes and get outside when you feel the blues coming. Yourmind and body will enjoy the fresh air from the outdoors.6. Make Exercise a Daily ActivityWe were made for movement. When you exercise, you give your muscles andbrain what they need to keep you healthy. The hormones you release duringexercise will lower stress and help make you happier.7. Get More SleepPoor sleep can lead to a poor attitude. Why not take a chance on science andmake your sleep a priority. You may need to go to bed earlier, but your bodyand mind will reward you the next day. You will feel more calm and capable ofcarrying out your daily tasks.8. Stop Comparing Yourself to OthersPeople often show only their best selves on social media. Looking at thosefalse impressions will leave you feeling discontented. Taking a technology fastis one way to keep from comparing yourself to others. Instead, you can focuson building relationships that bring lasting happiness.9. Have a Weekly Family (Or Friends) DinnerEngaging with your family (or friends) keeps the relationships strong. Having aweekly dinner

Ep 94Positivity: Isn't it all just BS?

Quotes of the day:“Dreams don't work unless you take action. The surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them.” ― Roy T. Bennett“It will never rain roses: when we want to have more roses, we must plant more roses.” ― George Eliot“The true measure of success is how many times you can bounce back from failure.” ― Stephen Richards“When you are joyful, when you say yes to life and have fun and project positivity all around you, you become a sun in the center of every constellation, and people want to be near you.” ― Shannon L. AlderForgot to talk about some of the most important events last week:Thank you to the Sparks for opening your home to me.Enjoyed the visit from Brian and Kori AleksivichMain Topic:Five Steps to a More Positive AttitudeWhat do you want most? What do you feel is holding you back? Do you desire more happiness in your life? How about success? Would you like to be able to achieve your goals and see your dreams come true? How about abundance? Would you like to get more of the good things that life offers and that make living worthwhile? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then your next step is simple – you need to begin removing negativity from your life.Negativity kills more dreams and creates more self-generated unhappiness than any other factor. Negative thoughts stop people from moving forward. They stop people from taking steps that they need to take to get to their goals and achieve real success. Negative thoughts keep people in a never ending cycle of negativity that prevents growth and change from occurring. In short, negativity is a force that keeps you from being who you want to be and living life under your own terms and conditions. So, how does this happen? Let’s take a closer look. You see, there is a direct connection between how you think and how you feel and act. Remember that your brain is a part of your body and your mind is a construct that is made possible by the physical make-up of the brain. This means that the thoughts you have effect your emotions, as well as you actions. To look at it another way, actions are nothing more than a physical manifestation of thought. Rene Descartes’s famous quote “I think, therefore I am” is a fairly accurate description of the process that connects internal thoughts with external actions. Now that you know this, think about how powerful negative thoughts can be. Think about how those thoughts can infiltrate every aspect of your life, essentially infecting and destroying any positive forward momentum. The process looks something like this – you thoughts are converted to words. Those thoughts and words then work to influence your actions. Your actions, over time and with repetition, become ingrained habits. These habitual actions are the basis of how the rest of the world sees you and relates with you. In this way, your actions shape your character and your reputation. That character and that reputation essentially become the motive forces that shape your destiny.Think about it. You could be going through life desperately wishing for one result and all the while you are actively working, through ingrained negative behavior, to achieve the exact opposite of what you want! No wonder so many people trapped in the whirlpool of

Ep 91Your Self Image Is Holding You Back

“It's like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.” ― Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the WindMy answer to last week's question: If you HAD to teach something, what would you teach? What problem do you want to solve?I would say that the thing I want to teach is that it IS possible to create a life and work you LOVE, no matter your stage in life. You can make the change. The method I would use to teach is through entrepreneurship. I believe every single person has what it takes to create a business or even side-hustle of their own. This puts so many things into perspective for you, opens doors for you that otherwise you would never even see, and opens up your mind to SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.My goal through my coaching is to help people, especially young adults, to start a business, or at least a side hustle, and get it profitable. Stories from real life:Stayed alive while my wife was gone for a weekHomestead updates:All the berries are ready5 more baby chicksCut path through the woods to install new pig fenceWe are coming up on episode 100, it should land around the end of July, depending on how many interview shows I have in there. Ep 90Is Your Life FULFILLING??

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” ― Friedrich NietzscheMy wife wife thinks I'm practically perfect, except when I accidentally combine "needle" and "knotter" into knoddle. All these baler parts got me confused. Speaking of baling, that how we spent our Memorial Day weekend, in the field baling hay.Spoke with a tax lawyer to develop a plan to mitigate our tax burden as much as possible.Main topic: Is your life FULFILLING!Pursuing a Fulfilling LifeThe most familiar path to you is the one that many people will stay on. Doing what you know -even if it doesn’t feel like your life fits - is often preferable to some people than making changes, even if it could mean a better life. Contentment in life comes from embracing who you are and what it is that gives you happiness. Sadly, there are scores of people who don’t make changes because they’re afraid it might be uncomfortable or hard. HaveYou Chosen the Wrong Path? The path that a person is on in life often gets put in place when they’re still in high school. At eighteen years old and younger, people are making big decisions that are going to impact their futures. Sometimes these choices bring happiness - but often, they end up leaving the person feeling unfulfilled. Some people are older when they decide on a career course and they stick to it year after year - some for as long as multiple decades. They know after a few years that it’s not where they want to be. But they stick to it for several reasons. Sometimes they don’t make any life changes even if they’re unhappy because the path is familiar. Other times, it’s because they put a lot of effort and money into the education to reach where they are. No one wants to feel like they’ve wasted thousands upon thousands of dollars or year after year of their time. No one wants to feel like their investment was all for nothing. So they stick it out because leaving it behind would feel like a waste. That’s backward thinking. Staying on the wrong path is a waste. Doing that makes it all for nothing. Because you only have one life and you can spend it going after what truly gives you pleasure or staying on what’s familiar for no good reason other than it’s what you know. It’s time to look yourself in the mirror and face the reality you’ve been trying to avoid. The life that you have is not the one that you want. This takes honesty and courage, but once you admit that truth to yourself, you’ll be amazed at how much lighter you’ll feel. There are symptoms that will show up when you’ve chosen the wrong path in life. The first symptoms that usually appear are physical or emotional. You can start to have body aches or feel sick whenever you have to go to work or do something associated with your career. You know that you don’t even want to go to work. Some people start to experience feelings of depression or anxiety. Another sign is that your work performance slacks off. You find that doing a good job just doesn’t matter anymore. This happens because your heart isn’t in it. You can’t be enthusiastic about something that doesn’t give you pleasure. Finally, you feel a longing in your heart toward something that you want to do that does give you pleasure. Sometimes this can be the thing that you like to do in your spare time or it can be something that you’ve always longed to do but for whatever reason, didn’t. It’s time to make a...
