Talkiesnetwork.com reports that Storm Reid will officially by join Elisabeth Moss as a co-star in the remake of “The Invisible Man” in the works. Director Leigh Whannell (Upgrade) will be weaving a tale centered on Moss’s Celia who, after hearing about the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide, attempts to rebuild her life for the better. But she begins to suspect he’s not really dead. Maybe he’s just… Invisible. We can’t wait to see how it compares to the original, but that’s all we know for now. https://talkiesnetwork.com/2019/05/10/a-wrinkle-in-time-star-storm-reid-joins-elisabeth-moss-in-the-invisible-man-remake/ Putting the grim back in the Brothers Grimm, a new translation of the classic fairy tales restores the glorious blood and horror of the originals. Such as in the charming tale “How the Children Played at Slaughtering” along with 155 other stories, with many illustrations. Full of murder, suicide, crime, mutilations, monsters, assault, and chaos, these might not be the best bedtime stories for the kids, but it sounds like just the thing for adult horror fans and folks to want to hear some storytelling from over 200 years ago. Haunted doll sellers and collectors say buyers should beware. Because possessed and haunted dolls aren’t just the realm of movies like Annabelle and Chucky. They’re real. “Etsy and eBay list thousands of dolls purportedly inhabited by everything from evil witches to judgmental spirits that might call you fat to young children and fairy spirits. Most haunted dolls sell for around $50 plus shipping, but the most highly prized ones are priced well into the four figures. There’s a formula, too, for how they’re sold: Each listing contains a detailed overview of the spirit’s life story, details of said spirit’s death, and a description of their personality. Dolls are labeled “active” or “highly active” if paranormal phenomena are said to occur frequently in their vicinity. Some are advertised as being able to move objects, make noises, or communicate via telepathy or Ouija board, while others are meant to act as creative muses, play matchmaker by revealing potential lovers in dreams, or emit positive energy.” You really should read the article to learn the stringent testing process that some dealers use to assure that the dolls are genuine. Johnny Lee Johns AKA Captain Spaulding AKA Cutter turned 101 as of his fictional birthday on April 13th, being born in 1918. Time flies when you’re making mayhem. Fans have put together a great chronology of the Rob Zombie movie anti-hero, starting with his birth in El Paso, Texas up to the events leading to his appearance in “House Of 1000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects.” Check out the link in the show notes for that. The good news is that actor Sid Haig is only 80 and still working, with a third appearance of The Captain in “3 From Hell” to be released later in 2019. https://devilsrejects.fandom.com/wiki/CaptainSpaulding(Cutter) Black Summer has arrived a little ahead of the actual summer. These aren’t the slow lurching type of zombies, but are the fast-moving type that will be on you in a flash with rage and teeth. While the premise sounds familiar, this take on the genre is getting fan and critical praise. And of course stirring debates over if it can possibly be better than The Walking Dead or any of the others we’ve seen so far. We’ve included a link to the trailer, and it looks really good. https://www.netflix.com/title/80198988 The first teaser of American Horror Story Season 9 has been released with only hints of what it might be about. She takes shelter in a wooden structure and a huge knife plunges through the door she is leaning against. Details are pretty scant at this point. Evan Peters is said to not be returning this season. Emma Roberts and Gus Kenworthy are sure things. We’ll keep an eye out for more information, and we’ll be sure to watch in this fall 2019. The only one appears to be A Quiet Place being a Best Sound Editing nominee. Popsugar reports that a film adaptation of the H. P. Lovecraft horror story The Colour Out of Space begins production in February and is aimed to be completed by the end of 2019. "The Colour Out of Space" is a short story written by Lovecraft in 1927. The story follows a family who moves to Massachusetts. Shortly thereafter, a meteorite of sorts crashes on their land, but it's not any ordinary rock. It begins to "infect" the town; the food that grows is inedible, animals and livestock unravel, and locals either go insane or die. We watch as the family, from the patriarch to the children, slowly crumbles to dust. The film will star the one and only Nicolas Cage and will costar Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard, and Q'Orianka Kilcher. The cast will team up with the producers from Cage's last major romp, Mandy, and Richard Stanley will take the helm as director. https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/What-Horror-Movie-Color-Out-Space-About-45705765 Drive-In Special: “Dr. Phibes Rises Again!
