We had been navigating the home buying process for a while, and after looking at this house, it went contingent, leaving us wondering if it was still meant to be. As first time home buyers, we were learning about the closing process, home sale contingency, and the intricacies of the house buying process. But we held on to our faith, believing in the miraculous provision that had brought us this far. Our story is one of miracles, a real estate miracle that showcases how God's provision can work in our lives. From the initial search to the final closing, our home buying journey was filled with moments of wonder and awe, reminding us of the power of faith and trust in the process. Are you stuck waiting? Feeling like you are stuck in a waiting season can be frustrating & understandably discouraging as well. Being stuck waiting is something that has a way of etching away at you like water etching away at a rock. The longer you wait, the more excruciating it becomes. That pain pushes you to feeling like you aren't going to make it, that you are going to break beyond recovery, & that you are in it all alone. I am very familiar with these feelings & this sort of isolation, & if you made it this far into this description, then I know you can relate to these feelings & experiences too. But, I am here to let you know that waiting doesn't have to feel this way. There is a positive side to the waiting, even if you can't see it now. Do you ever feel like your life is on hold but you don't know why? Do you feel like you are waiting to do the things you love, but you find yourself waiting for everything to be 'just right' first? You aren't alone in the waiting or in these feelings. I've spent a lot of my life doing this sort of 'waiting' & I regret how much time has been lost. In the midst of waiting, I deprived myself of doing the things I love & care about. As well as missing out on precious time with loved ones. I don't quite know when the waiting began for me, or why I even began waiting in the first place. But I do know I was about two years old when it all began. Now, as an adult, I've realized that I don't want to wait anymore. That there are things currently in my life that I've already waited so long for that are finally here, but I'm not fully enjoying it because I find myself waiting for something else in its place. I've found, the waiting never ends. So, I've decided that I no longer want to wait. I want to live. Do you want to start living your life now too? In my life, highs & lows have always been drastic. They have felt as though they could destroy me & that it was only a matter of time. But in those experiences, I have gotten a different view of Jesus & who He is to the lost, hurting, & the broken. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed and lost in the process of healing & asking yourself, "why am I self-isolating?" I know how it is to feel like you are doing all of the right things, yet somehow you still end up in the dark & hard places that you know all too well. The Meaning Behind The Name "Honestly Because": "Honestly" starts the conversion with the premise that it will be transparent & authentic. "Because" is the willingness to have the conversation despite any difficulty. "Honestly Because" is taking a look at life experiences with the desire to improve & grow. There is always something to learn & heal from in our experiences that not only help us as individuals, but helps those around us if we are willing to be vulnerable & share our experiences with others so that they can also experience healing. The Why Behind "Honestly Because": When I felt the idea of creating a podcast come to mind, so did the understanding that it had to be kept simple, minimal, & manageable. But more than that, I knew that it had to be a place where I could share things I've experienced & things I am currently experiencing in a head on, relatable, & helpful way. I also knew I had to share it all authentically & honestly in a way that is not diluting, hiding, or minimizing the experiences of change & healing I've had with Jesus, no matter how difficult, hard, or uncomfortable those things may be. I knew I’d have to do it in hopes of helping others see that they have the same opportunity available to them to receive the same change & healing I've experienced. The hardest thing of all, is to not turn away from the storm in hopes of running away from it, but instead turning to it to face it head on with the understanding that it is the quickest & most efficient way to get through the hard things of life. In the pursuit of wholeness, I have been in a constant season of turning my head to the storm, even when I felt I couldn't take another second of pain & chaos. Knowing that one day I would end up on the other end, finally able to breathe a breath of relief because I made it through the thickest & heaviest storms of my past. I have pushed myself to face the hard things so that one day my past would no longer prevent me from being exactly who I was created to be & doing the things I was created to do. I've done this so that I could be best equipped to live a life of freedom from my past experiences & pain. The biggest thing from it all is having a stronger & more personal relationship with Jesus because I am able to see & understand His goodness in my life now more than ever before. Now I feel that I am able to help others that feel their storm has never ended, & only brewed, to also turn their heads directly into it with knowing that they too can get through it all with the healing power of Jesus.
