HS 134 - Balance Your pH with Dr. Robert Young

Dr. Robert Young, co-author with his wife, Shelley, of The pH Miracle: Balance Your Diet, Reclaim Your Health, joins Jason Hartman to discuss the biology of the human body at the cellular level. Dr. Young explains the importance of alkaline balance and provides examples ofenvironmental and manmade situations that shift this balance. One example is a comparison of an alkaline battery and the human body –the human body is an electrical being that runs on electrical energy, which we derive from our environment and foods. When the acid in thebody is out of balance, we become sick, depressed, or tired. A buildup of acid causes the body to shut down. Dr. Young offers answers to correcting the pH level in the body that will help neutralize the acids that are continually produced, such as lactic acid and uric acid. For more information, listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Over the past two and a half decades, Robert O. Young has been widely recognized as one of the top research scientists in the world. Throughout his career, his research has been focused at the cellular level. Having a specialty in cellular nutrition, Dr. Young has devoted his life to researching the true causes of "disease," subsequently developing "The New Biology™" to help people balance their life. His research has been published in several noted journals, and he is the author and co-author of many books, including The pH Miracle and Back to the House of Health. In addition, Dr. Young has been honored with an invitation to sit on the Vegetarian and Fasting Committee for NASA's earth and space missions. He also currently works with a team of research scientists at the University of Puerto Rico, as well as the Center of Diabetes in Puerto Rico, on a potential cure for Type I and Type II diabetes. HS 130 - Changing Your Life Quickly Through Hypnosis with Dr. Errol Gluck

Jason Hartman is joined by psychotherapist and clinical hypnotist, Dr. Errol Gluck, to talk about the benefits of hypnosis and rational cognitive coaching. The main benefit is it allows people to change their lives in hours rather than over a lifetime. Dr. Gluck explains why some people can deal with their issues and others seem to be unable to do so. Some people simply don’t know or don’t possess the mechanics to make positive changes and just need coaching. Others have emotional blocks that don’t allow them to make those necessary changes, which is where clinical hypnosis can relieve those blocks when coaching isn’t enough. Dr. Gluck also reviews the many things that hypnosis treats, such as phobias, addictions, weight issues, and more. He also delves into the science and reputation of hypnosis. For details, listen at: www.HolsiticSurvival.com. Dr. Errol Gluck, D. Min, Ct. H, began his career in Rational Cognitive Coaching in 1980. HS 128 - War & the Mark of the Beast with Rev Irvin Baxter

The book of Revelations has been interpreted as the end of times, with many variations on the “how,” “when,” and “who.” Because this book of the Bible is written in metaphors, it is impossible to determine the actual end of time as we know it, but it may be possible to connect the dots of the different prophesied events. Reverend Irvin Baxter believes that most of the events have already happened and that a catastrophic war in the very near future is eminent. Revelations predicts this war will begin at the Euphrates River, an area currently riddled with tension and of concern to the world. The countries along the river are Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq. Rev. Baxter shares his research and thoughts on historic and current political, economic and health world events and how they may relate to the prophecies of the Bible. He feels the next prophecy to be fulfilled will be a war that will kill one-third of mankind. For more details, visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Irvin Baxter is the founder and president of Endtime Ministries. He is a television and radio host, author, publisher, and international prophecy teacher. Irvin felt God call him to start traveling as an evangelist at the age of 19. He began pastoring when he was 27, and continued for 33 years until he made the decision to devote all of his time to Endtime Ministries, which focuses on explaining world events from a biblical perspective. Irvin authored A Message for the President in 1986. In the book, he identified for the first time the United States, Great Britain, Russia, and other modern nations in the Bible. He also stated that the Berlin Wall would be torn down; East and West Germany would be reunited; and that these events would be the catalyst that would propel the world into the New World Order. The Wall did come down in 1989, and we have continually heard about the New World Order ever since. In 1998 Irvin Baxter launched a daily radio talk show called Politics and Religion. He regularly conducts prophecy conferences throughout the United States. In March 2006, IrvinBaxter launched the “No National ID” campaign to make people aware of the dangers of “The Real ID Act” which President Bush signed on May 11, 2005. This topic was discussed in detail in the May/June 2006 edition of Endtime magazine. As a result of these and other efforts, the full implementation of the “Real ID Act” has been postponed for the third time, until January 15, 2013. His website is http://www.endtime.com/.

HS 127 - "Silver Circle" Movie with Pasha Roberts

Jason Hartman is joined on this episode by Pasha Roberts, creator of the upcoming movie, “Silver Circle.” Pasha Roberts is the founder of an animation studio outside of Boston, Lineplot Productions. He is currently Director of its major production underway, Silver Circle. Lineplot began as an animation studio that provided 3D graphics to explain complicated economic situations to their corporate clients. Then they decided to take the creative route, creating an animated movie set in the future of hyperinflation and the collapse of the Central Banks. Pasha and Jason discuss several of the facets of the movie, including government seizure of commodities, such as precious metals and property, and freezing accounts. Pasha explains that once trust in the system is lost, there is no regaining it, and one likely scenario is a rebellion, with citizens taking matters into their own hands. Silver Circle is a film set in 2019 after a severe economic collapse. A group of Rebels are devising a plan to take down the culprit of this economic calamity, the Federal Reserve. One way they fight the Fed is through competition...they mint their own silver underground to disperse in the community in hopes to make the dollar obsolete. It is all wrapped into a love story that unfolds as an investigator from the Fed meets a Rebel and has to choose which side he is on. Their mission is to entertain and educate, and no, you don't have to be well-versed in economics to enjoy the film. Pasha holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Russian Studies from The College of William and Mary, and a Masters of Science in Financial Engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Management. In addition to his MIT degree, his background includes twenty years of software development and successful entrepreneurship experience. As a person who loves mathematics, graphic design, and liberty, Pasha’s corporate experience has molded him into a creative machine who believes using media and art to convey messages of social change can succeed.

HS 126 - Fortified Homes and Hardened Structures with Brian Camden

Economic tensions, nuclear and EMP threats, and acts of terrorism, both domestic and abroad, have people concerned about their safety and survival. During the Cold War, bomb shelters or fallout shelters became very popular. Today, your own home can provide the protection you need from whatever threats about which you are most concerned. Jason Hartman is joined by Brian Camden, Principal of Hardened Structures Hardened Shelters LLC, to talk about fortified homes, underground bunkers, protection and action plans, and how many shelters are designed. Brian explains the construction designs and the level of security available. These hardened structures can be built as a nice-looking home or second home or as an addition to an existing home, most often with underground shelters, that are fully sustainable off the grid. Brian shares some of the most important reasons that more and more homeowners are requesting fortified homes or shelters. For more details, listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Hardened Structures Hardened Shelters LLC is a Construction Program Management firm (http://www.hardenedstructures.com/). The Team consists of a core group of independent, specially trained shelter design firms for structural engineering, blast engineering, EMP/HEMP shielding, CBRN, HVAC, electrical and alternative energy designs. There has been a lot of concern about how unprotected our nation is from EMP/HEMP blasts, whether from natural means like solar flares or from warring nations, and the company has been involved in a lot of military projects to protect from these threats. All construction is performed by a special group of geographically specific licensed general contractors. These independent design firms and general contractors have had specialized shelter design and build training before they can become part of the “Hardened Structures Team”. The company provides a “one-stop shop,” including arms, alarm systems, training, security threat assessments and more.

HS 125 - Energy and Space with Sir Charles Shults III

Jason Hartman interviews scientist and inventor, Sir Charles Shults III, regarding the world’s energy technology and his research on Mars and why it is important. Sir Charles explains the problems with some energy technologies, including the environmental issues and financial costs. He points out that the companies producing these technologies are not scientists, only really understanding the price side of things. Jason and Sir Charles talk about solar, nuclear, wind energy and more. Nuclear energy is thought of as a dangerous alternative due to disasters around the world, but the designs and the answers exist to make this energy source safe. The problem is that the government has made recycling of nuclear waste illegal, except by the military, for fear of the creation of nuclear weapons by anyone in the private sector. Our biggest problem with solar and wind industry is a lack of storage. Sir Charles explains that we can harness more than enough power for the world, but we don’t have the storage capacity. He encourages more research in the energy field. The second half of the interview moves from our planet to space. Sir Charles states that we have answers to every problem. People don’t understand the importance of learning to survive in space, which would bring us the means to survive far more efficiently on the ground. He and Jason also explore weather control and advanced weaponry and defense systems already invented and in use. For more about alternative power systems, personal automation and sustainability, please visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. We could easily support 50 billion people on this planet through technical advances, many of which already exist, without threatening the environment or the biological diversity we are losing presently. Sir Charles Shults III worked at Martin Marietta Aerospace for 10 years on weapons systems and computer based automated test equipment. He wrote the nuclear EMP test software for the Pershing II missile system, worked on Patriot, the Copperhead tank killer, and Advanced Attack Helicopter systems. Charles has performed research under grant on nuclear fusion, was knighted and received a long term grant for his present research in robotics and artificial intelligence. He has written many technical publications and magazine articles on space, astronomy, the atmosphere, and space resource development. In addition, Charles has also appeared on several TV and radio programs.

HS 124 - Scripting for Humanity with Duane Elgin

Humanity faces many challenges, such as climate disruptions, species extinction, shortage of cheap oil, overpopulation, limited resources – a list that could go on and on. But Jason Hartman’s guest on this episode, internationally recognized author Duane Elgin says the biggest concern is how urgent we see our situation. What Duane sees developing are these trends converging into the “perfect storm,” a crisis of all of the world’s systems. This means political systems, economic systems, social systems, spiritual and religious systems that have overextended themselves, requiring humanity to pull together. He feels this will happen around the 2020s. Duane explains humanity’s separation from nature and from one another, stating we have succeeded so well that we’ve run into our limits and undermined our future success. His stories suggest ways for the human race to pull together, to create sustainability, stressing that system breakdown is actually good news in order to move into a new relationship with one another and the Earth. Please visit www.HolisticSurvival.com for more on Duane and Great Transition Stories. DUANE ELGIN is an internationally recognized speaker, author, and media activist. His books include: The Living Universe, Promise Ahead, Voluntary Simplicity, and Awakening Earth. With Joseph Campbell and other scholars, he co-authored Changing Images of Man. HS 123 - Imperfect Passage with Michael Cosgrove

It’s a fact – many people suffer a mid-life crisis between the ages of 40 and 60. It is a transition period during which one realizes their life may be half over and they reflect on their accomplishments in life, their regrets, and what they would still like to do. Jason Hartman interviews author, Michael Cosgrove, who endured what he called a three-quarter life crisis at the age of 60 that led to his book, Imperfect Passage. Michael had a great life that he had worked hard to achieve – a beautiful family, a successful career, and a lovely home in southern California with views of the Pacific Ocean. But Michael was not taking to the idea of old age well. He wanted to establish a legacy for his family and decided to “shake things up” by embarking on a long and dangerous adventure to attempt to sail around the world. Michael was not prepared for the rigors of such an adventure and suffered many hardships and mental and emotional stress, including a dangerous crew member with a personality disorder. Michael talks about the biggest surprise that came from this attempt, the psychological impact. On the ocean, he noted, you lose all of your control, which required him to adapt to the environmental conditions and get a grip on his attitude. As Michael says, “You can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails.” Another lesson he learned was to recognize the difference between a temporary inconvenience and a real problem. Listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com for more about Michael’s rough voyage that ultimately led to some of the best lessons about life. Michael Cosgrove earned his BS from Michigan State University and his Masters in psychology from Western Michigan University. He has been a teacher, a coach, a psychologist (MA), a model and an actor. For the past 32 years, he has been masquerading as an insurance agent. The writing process for his book was an emotional experience for him because he has always battled debilitating Dyslexia. First, he hears the words in his head, then feels them in his heart, and they come out of his fingertips onto the keys of his computer. His hope is that his message in Imperfect Passage will add value to the lives of his readers. He realized it’s not about him, or the book, but what he can offer the audience as a result of his experience. He hopes the readers will find meaning in the power of success, as well as the lessons of defeat.

HS 122 - How to Spot a Liar with Greg Hartley

Think about the times you have lied about something. Were they little white lies to save face or to protect someone? Was there a big lie that led to another lie or that, once learned, hurt someone deeply or caused a serious trust issue? On this episode, Jason Hartman interviews expert interrogator, Greg Hartley, author of How to Spot a Liar: Why People Don’t Tell the Truth…and How You Can Catch Them. Greg explains that on the continuum of normal, there are three reasons people lie: Love, hate and greed. HS 121 - Why Planes Crash with David Soucie

Airplane safety has improved significantly, but there are improvements that can still be made to remove the fear that many people feel when boarding a plane. Author Dave Soucie joins Jason Hartman on this episode to talk about advances in safety and what still needs to be done. The biggest concern today is complacency, while the biggest improvement has been the implementation of Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing (ASIAS), which allows for the exchange of information on precursors that may cause accidents down the road. David’s take on this is that there is a lot of room for improvement yet. He states that even the passengers are part of the safety system, stressing they need to be aware and if they see something concerning, be bold and speak up. David describes the FAA’s responsibilities and the standard regulations around the world. He also talks about the importance of the TSA, not disregarding blatant overstepping by some TSA agents, but the necessity of keeping airspace safe. There have been many horrific airline crashes and David tells the stories behind those crashes. The way accidents are most often looked at is pilot error. But David asks the question, what caused the problem in the first place that resulted in a pilot needing to troubleshoot? The initial cause can be critical, such as faulty equipment that the airline companies know need to be replaced, but choose not to do immediately. David and Jason close with general aviation tips and advice. Airplane crashes may be rare, but they do happen, and they’re usually fatal. David Soucie insists that most of these deaths could be prevented. Soucie’s worked in the cockpit, on the hanger floor, within the aviation boardroom, and inside the Washington D.C. beltway. He’s seen death up close and personal ─ deaths of colleagues and friends that might have been prevented if he had approved certain safety measures in the aircraft they were handling. This memoir is a gripping description of what Soucie saw and experienced as he worked in the aviation industry. He’s now focused on understanding the hazards and risks of air travel. As such, he is a regular consultant on the topic, from advising the Obama administration on airline safety management systems to taking a leading role as industry representative in the congressionally funded NextGen interdepartmental initiative to examine the challenges of aviation in the near future, not only for the Department of Transportation, but also for the departments of defense and Homeland Security, NASA, and the Office of National Intelligence. Since leaving the FAA in 2006, Soucie has analyzed nearly every major air disaster. From January 2007 to June 2010, there were 240 commercial airplane accidents, 28 crashes on scheduled airlines that resulted in 1,795 deaths.

HS 118 - Marijuana Gateway to Health with Clint Werner

It is commonly known that cannabis (marijuana) helps with glaucoma and the side effects of chemotherapy. What isn’t widely known is that our bodies possess an endocannabinoid system, which regulates almost every system of our health. The phytocannabinoids produced in marijuana are very similar in molecular structure to the cannabinoids that our bodies produce. Author Clint Werner joins Jason Hartman to discuss studies that have proven the health benefits of marijuana, including for the treatment of Alzheimers, protecting the health of diabetics and fight the spread of breast cancer cells. Clint talks about the demonizing of marijuana that started in the ‘30s by Federal agents and a journalist spreading “reefer madness” throughout the country. He also discusses needed reforms. Other facts about marijuana include protecting the brain by reducing inflammation and by stimulating the production of healthy new brain cells and reducing the risk of chronic, long-term smokers for developing lung cancer. Additionally, Clint talks about the differences between strains of marijuana grown in various climates and conditions, including indoors in artificial light versus outdoors in sunlight; the health benefits of THC; smoking versus vaporization; and the numerous forms in which it is available, such as tinctures and salves. Clint Werner has degrees in journalism and library science and has worked in the field of preventive health care for over 25 years. He studied macrobiotic cooking and practice in Boston in 1985, relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he co-authored the San Francisco Police Department’s health and fitness plan in 1987 and worked teaching AIDS, cancer and heart disease patients how to improve their health with diet and lifestyle changes. His writing has appeared in the book Cannabis Therapeutics in HIV/AIDS, the Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics, Macrobiotics Today, Canine Chronicle, the San Francisco Sentinel and other publications. Clint has been named “Activist of the Month” for June by NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

HS 117 - "Secession Madness" in All 50 States with Drew Zahn

In light of the recent election results, thousands of people across the United States started petitions to the government requesting that their state secede from the Union. Drew Zahn, news editor at WND, joins Jason Hartman for a discussion about this movement that immediately followed on the heels of Obama’s re-election. Drew and Jason talk about states’ rights, pointing out that many citizens feel our individual rights are also being infringed upon through some of President Obama’s mandates, such as healthcare reform. The movement began with one gentleman in Louisiana asking for a peaceful secession from the Union for his state and very quickly snowballed. Drew explains the legality involved in secession, noting that there are three ways that a state can leave the Union. For details on this issue, please visit www.HolisticSurvival.com. Citizens in all 50 states have petitioned the White House, with many states having acquired more than enough signatures to meet the requirement of the government’s policy for petitions. Jason and Drew discuss the ramifications, good, bad and difficult, of a state actually legally seceding. Drew Zahn is a reporter, movie critic and one of the news editors at WND.com, the nation’s oldest, largest independent online news source. A graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, Drew Zahn is a former pastor, who cut his editing teeth as a member of the award-winning staff of Leadership, Christianity Today’s professional journal for church leaders. HS 116 - Orchestrated Dollar Collapse with Lindsey Williams

Jason Hartman is joined by Pastor Lindsey Williams to share his experiences from members of the Elite, a group of very wealthy people around the world that are said to be behind the orchestration of the global financial crisis for the inception of a one-world currency. He describes the “ethical” code of the Elite and ways that they attempt to get the word out to people before situations happen, particularly through the use of media. Signals that Pastor Williams was to watch for were a crack in the derivative market, which goes unregulated and in May 2012, J.P. Morgan lost $5 billion on derivative trading and $25 billion in share losses; currency wars that began with China saying they will allow a 0.5% – 1% increase in their currency; trade wars in which countries bypass the American dollar; and an increase in interest rates. For more of Pastor Williams’ claims, visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Pastor Williams emphasizes the need to secure assets now and be aware of all that is going on around the world. One step is to trade our worthless paper money for gold and silver. Lindsey Williams was invited to be the Chaplain to the Elite of the world for three years during the construction of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline. Because of his position as Chaplain, he was offered executive status with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company in an advisory capacity and sat in the board meetings with the Elite, listening to people who tell the President of the United States what to do, tell Congress what bills to pass, dictate the price of oil on any given day, and control the currencies of the world, talk of their plans. Pastor Lindsey Williams is the author of six books, two of which became best sellers. He has been a Baptist minister for 55 years.

HS 115 - The Holographic Canvas & the Business of Disease with Sonia Barrett

On this show, we have talked about food, medication and just about everything that makes us sick. For this episode, Jason Hartman is joined by Sonia Barrett to talk about her forthcoming documentary, The Business of Disease. Sonia is an author and the host/producer and founder of Sovereign Mind Radio. She wrote an article in 2010 entitled “The Marketing of Breast Cancer, the pink ribbon agenda, and received staggering positive feedback. It led to the production of The Business of Disease. Sonia takes a look at how marketing and media, such as the pink ribbons, drive a huge business for the awareness and treatment of breast cancer. She points out that various businesses make tons of money from different events and fundraisers, and hospitals make more money from mammograms. In the documentary, Sonia took a look at how all of the awareness efforts for breast cancer affect the brain, not just for women, but for their spouses and children. This is a segue into talking about Sonia’s book, The Holographic Canvas: The Fusing of Mind and Matter. She explains that our belief system is shaped by society, family, and upbringing, and without asking questions, those belief systems establish what reality is going to look like for each of us. This can make our reality less than authentic and more of “going with the flow.” Reality is what we focus on and whatever each person focuses on at any given moment in their life is what is real to them. Sonia encourages examining belief systems. For more information, visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Sonia Barrett’s book was published in 2008, providing cutting edge insights supported by quantum physics, that addresses programming, beliefs and concepts by which we have lived our lives both individually and collectively. These insights provide clarity in understanding the paradox of both the real and the unreal; the visible and the invisible components of reality; the holographic experience. Known for her mind-bending concepts, she stretches the mind even further by going beyond the common view of time. Sonia Barrett has appeared on panels with such noted speakers/scientists as Dr. Amit Goswami, Dr. Bruce Lipton and a number of others. She has been a Key Note speaker at a number of conferences to name a few; the ISSSEEM Conference, Conscious Life Expo and the Alchemy Conference. Sonia Barrett is a popular radio guest and has appeared on television as well. She appeared in the 2010 film Ghetto Physics, produced by Will Arntz (producer of What the Bleep do We Know) and E Raymond Brown. She also appears in the upcoming docudrama (2012) Openings, The Search for Harry. She is currently producing her first documentary, The Business of Disease, a 90-minute feature, and is also publishing a companion book for the film filled with chapters from everyone in the film. In addition to Sovereign Mind Radio (www.sovereignmindradio.com), she is the founder and publisher of Sovereign Mind Magazine (www.sovereignmindmagazine.com).

HS 114 - Dirty Electricity with Dr. Samuel Milham, M.D., M.P.H.

For some time, there has been a debate about the safety of cell phones and smart meters due to high frequencies produced by these devices. Dr. Sam Milham speaks with Jason Hartman about his book, Dirty Electricity, and how anything that interrupts the flow of electricity causes dirty electricity. Dr. Milham contends that, based on his research, mortality rates increased as more and more residents of urban areas were joined to the electrical grid, including risks of cancer and diabetes. He shares some research, including an increase in cancer in a school, dairy cows not producing milk, and more that led to the discovery of high frequency electrical pollution that was causing an increase in a variety of problems and diseases. Not all electricity is dirty, but anything that produces high frequency waves, such as smart meters, certain appliances, cell phones, digital handheld phones, compact fluorescent lights, solar energy, WiFi, and more, contributes to higher rates of cancer and even obesity. Dr. Milham suggests ways to eliminate dirty electricity in the home. For more details, visit: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Dr. Milham is a specialist in occupational epidemiology and is known as the scientist who first alerted the world about the frightening link between occupational exposure to electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic pollution, and human disease. Dr. Milham is a graduate of Union College and Albany Medical College. He became a Senior Resident in Epidemiology at the New York State Department of Health in 1961 and then was a development consultant for the department. His experience includes Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Albany Medical College; Associate Professor, University of Hawaii School of Public Health and Medical School; Section Head, Epidemiology Section, Washington; Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, Washington State Department of Health, and more. He has received many awards and has written numerous articles on various medical issues. His mortality rate studies led to the writing of his book, Dirty Electricity, to alert people to the possibility of a looming epidemic of morbidity and mortality due to high frequency radiation, and what steps to take to reduce our exposure to dirty electricity.

HS 113 - Wetiko: The Greatest Epidemic Sickness Known to Humanity with Paul Levy

Jason Hartman interviews author and artist, Paul Levy, regarding his intense experience with what was deemed bi-polar mental illness, his spiritual awakening, and the journey to free himself from the psychiatric world. Wetiko is an indigenous term used by Native Americans to describe spiritual evil. Due to an intense personal trauma suffered a few years before, Paul had a life-changing spiritual awakening in 1981 that was misdiagnosed as a chemical imbalance and manic-depressive (bi-polar) illness. He was hospitalized numerous times and told he was having a severe psychotic breakdown and would have to live with his illness for the rest of his life. Paul explains how he became aware that, indeed, he was not suffering from a mental illness, but a spiritual awakening (Wetiko) and found spiritual teachers that helped him through his spiritual breakthrough. For more about his amazing story, listen at: www.HolisticSurvival.com. Paul talks about one of the chapters in his book, “Vampire Squid Economics,” which he describes as a perfect symbol of what happens when Wetiko gets into business. An artist, after the trauma of his shamanic break-down/through, he became a certified art teacher. Due to his intense interest in the work of C. G. Jung, by the end of the decade he found himself the manager of the C. G. Jung Foundation Book Service in New York, as well as the advertising manager for the Jungian journal Quadrant. In the fall of 1990, he moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1993, after many years of struggling to contain and integrate his non-ordinary experiences, Paul started to openly share his insights about the dream-like nature of reality. He began giving talks and facilitating groups based on how life is a shared waking dream that we are all co-creating and co-dreaming together. He is the founder of the ‘Awakening in the Dream’ Community in Portland, Oregon. He facilitates a number of ‘Awakening in the Dream Groups’ every week, which are groups of people who are awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality who are realizing that they can come together in a way that helps everyone deepen and stabilize their lucidity even further. A wounded healer in private practice, he assists others who are also awakening to the dream-like nature of reality. Paul is a pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence. A Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over 30 years, he has intimately studied with some of the greatest spiritual masters of Tibet and Burma. He is the author of The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis. Paul’s website is www.awakeninthedream.com.

HS 112 - Brushfire Plague with RP Ruggiero

Many scenarios exist of a potential societal collapse in our world, such as nuclear war, biological warfare, plagues and disease, global financial collapse, political strife or a natural catastrophe. Regardless of how it could come about, survival is the name of the game. Jason Hartman interviews R.P. Ruggiero, author of Brushfire Plague, to talk about the book, about preparation, survival and the importance of community. Brushfire Plague is an action novel about a virulent plague that quickly spreads around the world. The main character faces a daily battle for survival, which leads to uncovering a horrible secret about the Brushfire Plague and having to make incredibly difficult choices. In the interview, R.P. talks about group dynamics, how issues are discussed and worked out under duress. We have to be able to deal with and communicate with other people, including others’ egos and fears. He further explains that in crisis situations, people tend to be slow to realize the rules have changed, and discusses preparation and security. His goal is stressing the basic responsibility of being prepared so as not to be a burden on others and being able to protect yourself and your family should a crisis occur.R.P. Ruggiero lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two sons. He spends as much time as he can in the outdoors and strives to live by Robert Heinlein’s credo that, “Specialization is for insects.” When he is not outdoors, writing, or learning a new skill, he works coordinating people to achieve their common goals. He brings his almost two decades of experience in group dynamics—particularly when people are under stress—to good use in writing The Brushfire Plague; a novel grounded in neighborhood defense during a devastating plague.
