The Avs made due with the toughest back to back of the season, taking a point against Tampa Bay and getting the biggest win of the season on the road against Minnesota. The Avs road trip out of the all star break finishes at 1-1-1, could've been worse, could've been better. The Avalanche rattle off two overtime wins to head into the Christmas break on a positive break, but some more injuries put a damper over the holiday mood. The Avalanche are back in the win column at last with two straight wins over the St. Louis Blues and Philadelphia Flyers. It's impossible deny that Alex Georgiev is in the running for the Vezina at this point, as he posts yet another brilliant performance against the Dallas Stars by making 41 saves, and helping the Avalanche to an important divisional 4-1 win. The Avalanche simply continue to win, injuries be damned, and we shouldn't be surprised anymore.
