We've got a series folks. The Avalanche lose Game 4 against the Seattle Kraken 3-2 in overtime, and once again don't put out their best performance as the series is tied heading back to Denver for Game 5. The Avalanche's star players showed up big time and led the Avs to a huge 6-4 win over the Seattle Kraken in Game 3, giving them a 2-1 series lead and ruining Seattle's first playoff game in over 100 years. There is truly nothing like the emotional roller coaster of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Avalanche won all three games of California road trip, and hit a ton of milestones on the way, even if it wasn't all smooth sailing. The Avalanche took care of the Arizona Coyotes two games in a row, in the usual slog fest that ended up a little closer than it needed to be. Cale Makar and Erik Johnson made their return to the lineup in Friday's matchup, and Makar once again showed himself to be the best defenseman in the NHL, and dominated Arizona en route to a 3-1 win. The Avalanche six game winning streak was snapped against the Pittsburgh Penguins with a 5-2 loss, in an uncharacteristically sloppy game, complete with the perfect mix of poor officiating and poor discipline that cost them big time. The Avalanche have had a tough last few days.
