This is my last solo cast in my LA home studio. I'm sitting here surrounded by boxes, bags, and so many memories—taking time to reflect on my inner world. Because in this season of my life, I'm not running from anything. I'm simply listening to Spirit whisper: there's more, it's time. I've lived in LA on and off for the past seven years. My only desire at the time was to bring my period back, heal my body, and stop being in pain. I had gone through perimenopause at 21. I couldn't digest food. My body was shutting down. That desire to heal became the gateway. And that path took me into the mind-body connection, and eventually into the spiritual journey. And every one of those hardships became the exact fire I needed to walk through to become who I am today. So we ask ourselves—can we spiritually grow without going through such hard lessons and heartbreak? Is there a way to move through life not with constant resistance, but with a sense of ease? I've been on the yogic path since I was about 12 years old, when I first saw a sign in my town outside of Boston that simply read: YOGA. Something deep within me lit up. A lot of us learn our biggest spiritual lessons through love—through relationships, through heartbreak, through fantasies… and through the moment when it all crumbles down. We've been raised on fairytales. We walk into a room, scan the crowd, and wonder—is he here? We meet someone new and instantly ask, "is he the one?" Because we've been told that if we just find the right person, everything will magically fall into place. But what if love doesn't happen on our timeline? That's why today, I'm joined by my longtime friend Nadine Lee to explore the feminine spiritual path through love, heartbreak, and the transformation that follows. We met a decade ago in Bali, both in our early 20s, both navigating deep heartbreaks, lessons, and rebirths. After my marriage ended, I was grasping for something to hold onto. My friends were like, "Come to Bali, it's the perfect place to heal!" Waterfalls, ecstatic dance, sunshine—yes, please. So I packed my bags and flew across the world, thinking I'd be wrapped in adventure and good vibes. But Spirit had other plans. The very next day, my friends had to leave the country unexpectedly. And just like that, I was alone. In Bali. 🌊 The one thing I was most afraid of—I now had to face. No distractions, no one to lean on. Just me, my thoughts, and this wide-open unknown. And I'm not gonna lie to you guys… it got dark. 😶‍🌫️ On Christmas Eve, I knew I couldn't stay in the hotel room any longer. I needed to just be around people, even if they were strangers. So I pulled up Hotels.com, and—literally everything was booked. Except for one hotel. Brand new. Opened that very day. I was like, "Okay, Spirit, I see you." 👀 So I booked it. And when I arrived? I saw someone I knew. Someone I had loosely met years ago—turns out, he was the owner. 🤯 Suddenly, I was surrounded by the most beautiful, unexpected community. A group of people, all in Bali for different reasons, all navigating their own transformations. And just like that, I was part of something new. And then it hit me. Because I was surrounded by new people—people who knew nothing about my past—I had the opportunity to leave my old self behind. I didn't have to explain my story, my heartbreak, my identity. I could just… be. And that meant I could become whoever I wanted to be. For the first time, I wasn't confined by past expectations. I could experiment. I could grow. I could shift in ways I never allowed myself to before. And that realization opened up my entire world. Because if I could leave that version of myself behind… then I could live anywhere I wanted.
