Ep 133Episode 101: Chris Pandolfi interview

This week we're excited to be talking with Chris Pandolfi of the Infamous Stringdusters. They just released an excellent album, Laws of Gravity, and they're on tour! Here are the dates, but over the next week they'll be in the Bay Area, Southern California, Vegas, and Colorado. In the next couple of months they'll be all over the Midwest and back on the West Coast. It's a great concert experience. You may not be surprised to find out that we also talk about Phish. Chris is a huge fan and talks about playing with Page and Fishman (and Phil Lesh and others). Fun conversation, and we play a little bit of a show that Chris and I saw together, which really brought him back into the Phish orbit in 2014. Ep 132Episode 100: We made it.

Thanks for tuning in this week! We made it to episode 100, so we decided to take this time to reflect back on the first 99 episodes and talk about some notable conversations, the lessons we've learned, and how much this podcast means to all 3 of us. We also want to reiterate how thankful we are to all of our listeners for your support, ideas, feedback and enthusiasm. We'll keep going as long as you keep listening. Of course, we also play some music. We each chose a track that we wanted to keep revisiting and share it with you (Brad, being Brad, chose 2. He's a lawyer, so we can't argue with him.) Ep 131Episode 99: Daniel Pinchbeck Interview

This week's guest is Daniel Pinchbeck, the author of How Soon Is Now?, which comes out on February 20. It's a fascinating and timely book that talks about how we can collectively get out of the ecological and environmental disasters we've gotten ourselves into. You can read more about Daniel here. This is a bit of a departure from our typical subject matter, but the overlap of consciousness, psychedelics, music and culture seemed appropriate to probe into, especially at this inflection point in American history. Really thought provoking conversation. Of course, there is some music. Went back to the archive for some early Phish, which we think was probably influenced by psychedelics. Enjoy! Ep 124Episode 92: Phish.Net Conversation

We had the privilege of interviewing Marco Walsh, Board President of The Mockingbird Foundation and a prominent member of the Phish.Net community who's given countless hours of his time over the years. This interview gave us the chance to talk in depth about the history of the site and the Foundation, while hearing about the incredible work that all the volunteers have done for 20+ years. We of course also touch on the Phish Companion. Hey, it's the holidays! Pick one up for a friend or loved one. Also, there's a contest! The Mockingbird Foundation donated one copy of the book as well as a really cool poster. All you have to do is share this post with your friends on Facebook and/or Twitter using #MbirdHFPod and we'll pick two random winners (one for the book and one for the poster) on Monday, December 5. Marco also shares memories from his first show, 4.17.92 at the Warfield in San Francisco. We talk a bit about that tour and that show, and we play a few tracks from that night. Ep 121An Issue We Can't Overlook

Today we bring you a different kind of conversation. Over the past several weeks, there has been a lot of conversation online about harassment and abuse of women at Phish shows and in the community more broadly. We invited three ladies on to talk about this, Felicia, Shelly and Jen. This episode was informed by the work of Brian Colligan, who wrote a piece about this topic. We borrowed the episode title from his piece. We hope this conversation sheds a bit of light on the issues and allows us to work together to make sure this kind of shit does not happen. We'll be back with our Fall Tour recap episode later this week. In the meantime, please subscribe and review us on iTunes and follow us on Twitter. Also like us on Facebook.
