Esther opens up about her experience with sexual assault at ages 13, 17, and 28—assaults that she kept hidden for years out of shame and fear. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she found the courage to seek therapy, write about her trauma, and take legal action against her abuser. Although the case ended in a not-guilty verdict, Esther found strength, not defeat.
Through surfing, storytelling, and advocacy, she transformed her pain into purpose. Now, Esther is working to change the conversation around sexual assault by creating a platform that includes men in the healing journey—because she believes men will listen to other men, and that’s how culture begins to shift.
