Today I’m going to talk about the importance of skeletal muscle, and the relatively recent discovery of a class of proteins released by muscle that drive communication at a celluar level, called myokines. It’s the time for New Year’s resolutions and my aim is to convince you that building and using muscle regularly should be very high up your list of resolutions.

The world health Organisation has called physical inactivity the 4th most serious global health risk, behind only tobacco use, high blood pressure and high blood glucose and this podcast will explain why that is.
