Ep 321Emergency Pod: The Bucks stun the Heat with a Jrue Holiday game-winner

Despite giving up a torrent of threes, the Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the Miami Heat and stunned them in Milwaukee, winning on a Jrue Holiday last-second layup despite going down by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter. The comeback win was so energizing that Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step hopped on an emergency pod to celebrate and break down several aspects of Milwaukee's matchup with the Heat, including Miami's limited offense and Giannis Antetokounmpo's best game in a while against that defense.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 320Should we be concerned about the Milwaukee Bucks? | Gyro Step

E

The Milwaukee Bucks put up a pair of stinkers in their last two games, losing in truly disheartening fashion against the Philadelphia 76ers before the All-Star Break and to the Brooklyn Nets right after it. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step podcast tackled a tough question as a result: should Bucks fans be concerned about the team's middling level of play this season? Injuries are the biggest concern for both hosts still, but the inconsistent play, poor third quarters, and having to work in so many new players are worrisome factors as well. After discussing the issues, Rohan and Ti dove into reasons to be positive about the Bucks, including their star depth and one big reason they'll always have a shot to win it all: Giannis Antetokounmpo.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 319The Bucks miss on Dragic but sign Jevon Carter, and we look ahead to the rest of Milwaukee's season

The Milwaukee Bucks lost out on Goran Dragic, who signed with the Brooklyn Nets, and all four of the Gyro Step Podcast Network hosts sat down to discuss what that means for Milwaukee and look ahead to the rest of the season and the playoffs. But first, three of them (Adam McGee, Jordan Treske, and Ti Windisch) analyzed Milwaukee's signing of Jevon Carter, which broke just after Rohan Katti jumped off their call. So the episode starts with Carter signing analysis, but there's also a portion on the idea of signing him before anybody knew he was signed. There's some Inception stuff happening here. Also there's a big argument about which Eastern Conference opponent is scarier, the Miami Heat or Philadelphia 76ers, plus the crew shared their thoughts on seeing Giannis Antetokounmpo with the rest of the NBA 75 guys who attended All-Star weekend. Buckle up, this is quite the super GSPN pod.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 318Addressing Khris Middleton's uneven season and recapping the Bucks at All-Star Weekend

Even an NBA championship can't stop Milwaukee Bucks fans from getting heated over Khris Middleton, so Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step podcast discussed the highs, lows, and discourse of Khris Middleton after a particularly bad game against the Philadelphia 76ers before the break. Given that Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 30 points in the NBA All-Star game the night before, the guys also discussed the game itself (including more Khris discussion!), the Skills Challenge that saw Team Antetokounmpo miss a lot of shots but still nearly make the final round, and shared Goran Dragic updates up front too. Ep 316Ranking the best Bucks buyout options

E

The Milwaukee Bucks need to find impact players to fill their open roster spots, so Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step podcast ranked the best available (and semi-available) options. Players discussed include Goran Dragic, DeAndre' Bembry, Gary Harris, Dennis Schroder, Tristan Thompson, Kent Bazemore, John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, and more. The guys also explored some Wisconsin Herd players who would be good options to get a shot with the Bucks as Milwaukee waits for the buyout market to fully materialize, and talked briefly about whether or not Milwaukee will actually use its 2022 first round pick. Ti got to watch the G League Ignite team with draft prospects take on the Herd on Saturday, so he shared thoughts on a pair of players from that team who could be fun Bucks draft picks.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 315Donte gets traded for Serge Ibaka and flexibility, plus the Bucks perspective of a wild NBA trade deadline

The Milwaukee Bucks, after trying and failing previously, finally succeeded in trading Donte DiVincenzo to the Sacramento Kings in a four-team deal that netted Serge Ibaka, two second round picks, and two roster spots, as Rodney Hood and Semi Ojeleye were sent out as well. The entire Gyro Step Podcast Network crew analyzed the deal and covered the biggest stories across the NBA at the trade deadline, including the James Harden for Ben Simmons swap, plus looked at Bucks buyout options.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Happy NBA trade deadline Monday! The NBA trade deadline is a week away, so the Gyro Step Podcast Network shows sat down to preview the Milwaukee Bucks deadline and share their thoughts on what the Bucks need, who they could actually acquire without having many assets at their disposal, and what huge deals outside of Milwaukee could shake up the league at the deadline. Ep 311The Bucks get beat down in a battle of MVPs | Gyro Step

Giannis Antetokounmpo versus Nikola Jokic should've made the Milwaukee Bucks game against the Denver Nuggets an awesome spectacle, but unfortunately the Bucks couldn't even compete with the Nuggets and got blown out on their home court despite Giannis posting nearly 30 points on strong shooting numbers. Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch recorded a Gyro Step episode right after the bad loss and reflected on how mid the Bucks have been in January before taking a broader view of the season at large through the lens of the Bucks Stock Market, and making predictions about some future stock trends.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 309The official Packer Backer primer to the 2021-22 Milwaukee Bucks season

We here at the Gyro Step podcast understand many Green Bay Packers fans were pretty wrapped up in their playoff run, and were genuinely sorry to see it end over the weekend. If you're just now turning your attention to the Milwaukee Bucks for that or any reason, Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch summed up the first 49 games of the season in this handy primer pod to catch up anyone who missed the first part of the season and get everybody prepared for the next couple months as we get closer to the playoffs.*NOTE* Some technical difficulties resulted in Ti's audio having an echo sort of effect for the last few minutes -- sorry about that, it shouldn't happen again and hopefully doesn't ruin the tail end of the podcast for anybody.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step covered the game and shared their thoughts on the action and their interviews with Nwora and Mamu after the game. If you've followed the Milwaukee Bucks since before they snapped their 50-year championship drought, you're probably well aware of former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel beat reporter Matt Velazquez. Matt closely covered the team from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton's rookie year through 2020, and generously took some time away from his new gig at Bleacher Report to talk to Ti WIndisch and Rohan Katti on the Gyro Step about his memories from covering the Bucks, what it was like to watch the team win a championship from afar, Milwaukee's veil of secrecy around injury news and more, and the current Bucks' chances of repeating as champions.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 304The Bucks are ditching every class but passing all their tests | Gyro Step

E

We're getting some truly ugly losses from the Milwaukee Bucks in the past few weeks, but Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step sat down to discuss how despite the Ls it's clear the Bucks still have a high enough ceiling to beat any given team on any given night, which is good! Topics covered within that discussion include the bench being the real reason Milwaukee keeps losing, how the team will perform against a fairly tough upcoming schedule, the red flags surrounding Jordan Nwora recently, and Ti's heartless take on DJ Wilson finding a new NBA home in Toronto. Ep 302Breaking down the Bucks bench after a bummer in Charlotte | Gyro Step

The Milwaukee Bucks had to rely on some deep bench players for their game against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night, and while they'll usually have more juice than they did in that loss Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step podcast decided to do a deep dive on Milwaukee's entire bench after that unit came up with just 5 points against the Hornets. They went in order of minutes played and discussed every player, so the discussion starts with Pat Connaughton and ends with Sandro Mamukelashvili and covers everybody on the roster in between outside of the five usual starters. After the individual player breakdowns, Rohan and Ti summed up their thoughts on the state of the bench, and what, if anything, may be missing.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 301Learning how to really evaluate Mike Budenholzer from a coach's perspective ft Brad Fischer

We have criticized Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer plenty on the Gyro Step podcast, but how much of that criticism is actually valid? We brought on UW Oshkosh Women's Basketball head coach Brad Fischer to find out! Brad is a longtime Bucks fan and a decorated coach with individual honors and tons of team success on his resume, so he brought a completely different perspective to watching Bud and the Bucks -- Rohan and Ti learned a ton about how coaching actually works. Topics include the long-term focus of an NBA coach, calling plays vs a flowing offense, why coaches get mad late in blowouts, and Brad deciding if Bucks Twitter's Budenholzer gripes are valid or not.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 300The Bucks waived Boogie Cousins and we're upset about it

E

Literally a minute after the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, Shams Charania reported the team would be waiving DeMarcus Cousins ahead of his contract becoming fully guaranteed, cutting him to open a roster spot and save some luxury tax dollars in the meantime. Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Jordan Treske sat down soon after the news broke to try and make sense about it, theorize what waiving Boogie could mean in the short- and long-term, but mostly to vent about how bad of a move this seems given how productive Cousins has been in his Bucks tenure.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 299Giannis is obviously an All-Star, but will Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday make the cut? | Gyro Step

The only NBA All-Star question for Giannis Antetokounmpo is if he or Kevin Durant will be voted captain, but on the latest episode of the Gyro Step podcast Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti dug into Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton's chances of making the All-Star squad in the East this year, plus Bobby Portis, since he is campaigning for himself (and having an awesome season!).The guys also shared their full All-Star teams for both conferences, although the Western Conference All-Star convo was mostly them complaining about the field. Finally, near the end of the episode Ti shared a wild lineup statistic he and Rohan had fun discussing for a few minutes.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 298A Milwaukee Bucks and Gyro Step year in review, plus the current state of the rotation

While far from perfect, 2021 contained some substantial highs for the Milwaukee Bucks, including that whole first title in 50 years thing. Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch took an extended look back at the wild year that was 2021 for both the Bucks and for the Gyro Step, and got a little emotional doing so. After that, the guys dug into the current state of Milwaukee's rotation, both marveling at how deep it is and discussing how the emergence of Donte DiVincenzo and Wes Matthews may be putting Grayson Allen on somewhat of a hot seat considering his recent slump. Ep 297Airing Milwaukee Bucks grievances to celebrate Festivus

E

There's only one way for Milwaukee Bucks podcasters to celebrate Festivus: the airing of Bucks (and NBA) grievances. That's exactly what the GSPN crew did, as Adam McGee, Jordan Treske, Rohan Katti, and Ti Windisch all got together early on Festivus to air their various grievances with the NBA's handling of COVID, the Bucks' handling of injuries, annoying losses to the Miami Heat, the current state of NBA media, and more. Ep 296Escaping reality to take a big picture look at the 2021-22 Milwaukee Bucks | Gyro Step

The current state of the Milwaukee Bucks is a mess, so Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti decided to zoom out far away from two-way players in the starting lineup to think about the big picture for this Bucks team on the latest Gyro Step podcast. Ep 295Jrue Holiday shines as the Bucks are plagued with injuries and a literal plague | Gyro Step

The Milwaukee Bucks are once again down several rotation players for a stretch of multiple games, as injuries and COVID protocols held out seven players on Wednesday including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Thankfully Jrue Holiday stepped up and showed why he's a deserving max player, leading the Bucks to a nice win over the Indiana Pacers. On the latest Gyro Step podcast, Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch broke down all that the Bucks are dealing with, Jrue's strong play and chance to be an All-Star this year after all, plus answered a listener question on Donte DiVincenzo potentially signing a Bucks-friendly contract.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! The mysterious Brook Lopez injury saga that has been a story throughout the 2021-22 Milwaukee Bucks season took a disheartening turn on Thursday, when the team announced Lopez had successfully undergone back surgery that would keep him out indefinitely. Jordan Treske and Ti Windisch sat down soon after the news broke to discuss what it means for Brook and for the Bucks, how the signing of DeMarcus Cousins is now in a totally different light, the various players on the team that will have to step up to collectively fill some very big shoes, and the potential of another roster move as well.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 288The Bucks sign Boogie! and extend their winning streak to seven games feat Jake Reetz | Gyro Step

The Milwaukee Bucks finally answered our prayers and signed a big man! Granted now that the team has won seven straight games the need felt less pressing, but still reportedly bringing in DeMarcus Cousins should be a nice move to bolster regular season depth over the next few months at the very least. Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch talked all about the Boogie addition with special guest Jake Reetz, and they also covered a bit of the Bucks big win over the Indiana Pacers. Mostly the talk was on this 2021-22 Bucks team in general though: what we've taken away from the first quarter of the season, how we feel about their ceiling, and how they got here with this core and where they're going from here. The Milwaukee Bucks managed to beat the somehow even more depleted Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, but it was quite the struggle to take down a team without Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, and of course Ben Simmons. Still, Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step podcast insist it's time to R-E-L-A-X and, well, trust the Bucks' process this season. Ep 279Do the Bucks need another big? Plus thoughts on Giannis dominating and the Wisconsin Herd roster

The Milwaukee Bucks have been getting bullied on the boards with Brook Lopez out after their epic win night victory -- is it time for the organization to suck it up and pay more tax for a true backup big man in case Brook misses more time? That was the big question on our minds for a full house Gyro Step Podcast Network collab podcast but we also covered Giannis Antetokounmpo continuing to dominate even in less-than-ideal conditions and honestly looking better than ever, plus we broke down the Wisconsin Herd's announced training camp roster.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 278The Bucks power through a slew of injuries to start the season 3-1

The Milwaukee Bucks have been without several rotation players for all of their first four games, but it'd be hard to tell that based on record alone as Milwaukee stands near the top of the Eastern Conference at 3-1. On the latest Gyro Step Podcast Network recap, Adam McGee of the Win in 6 podcast and Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch of the Gyro Step dove into their overall reactions to the first four games, gave their thoughts on the severity of the current injuries the team is facing, argued a LOT about Semi Ojeleye, and also recapped the new to the rotation players and how've they've looked in extended run with so many players out.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 277Giannis makes his best in the world case as the Bucks beat down the Nets on ring night

The Milwaukee Bucks made a dominant statement right after donning their NBA championship rings for the first time on Tuesday, beating the Brooklyn Nets 127-104 behind Giannis Antetokounmpo's 32 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 combined steals and blocks. It wasn't just the Giannis show though, as brightly as he shined, as most everyone who played for the injury depleted Bucks looked good.Win in 6 host Jordan Treske joined Gyro Step hosts Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch to break down the game, and they covered pretty much every Buck who played. Topics include how the Nets got bigger but not big enough, Giannis' dazzling performance, Jordan Nwora stepping up big time, the debut of Grayson Allen, and Pat Connaughton adding to his bag. They also covered Jrue Holiday's unfortunate injury, and his strong play before going out.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 276Previewing Opening Night's Bucks vs Brooklyn matchup with Matt Brooks | Gyro Step

E

The Milwaukee Bucks are back in action on Tuesday night as they take on Kevin Durant, James Harden, and the Brooklyn Nets to kick off the NBA season, and after the highly anticipated ring night ceremonies there's going to be some epic basketball played between these two teams. To that end, Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch collaborated with Matt Brooks, host of The Clear Out podcast covering all things Nets on the Blue Wire podcast network and a writer covering the team for Nets Daily, to break down how Milwaukee and Brooklyn have changed since their intense seven-game series, how the teams match up against each other now, and how they think the game will go. The ever-fun "does anything matter if Giannis Antetokounmpo's jumper turns out to be real" conversation snuck its way in there, as did some slight conversation about the Net-who-shall-not-be-named. It's an enjoyable listen ahead of another clash between these two rivals.Check out Matt on Twitter and subscribe to The Clear Out wherever you listen to the Gyro Step and Win in 6!Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 274Giannis Antetokounmpo! Plus other reasons to be excited about the 2021-22 Milwaukee Bucks | Gyro Step

The Milwaukee Bucks are poised to have a fantastic 2021-22 NBA season for a lot of reasons, but none more important or exciting than Giannis Antetokounmpo. So when Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti decided to list off what they're most excited about, they agreed to co-sign Giannis' seemingly improved jumper and overall dominance as item number one and the best place to start. After gushing over Giannis, Ti and Rohan moved on to their individual lists of exciting Bucks things, including everything from seeing more of Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday functioning together, to a revamped approach on offense, to Semi Ojeleye and Jordan Nwora finding their way into the rotation. The word is being used a ton right now, but it's hard to be anything but excited!Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack! Ep 273Tier listing and ranking the Milwaukee Bucks preseason roster | Gyro Step

There is less than one week left until the 2021-22 NBA season starts, which means there is less than one week left in the Bucks title defense preseason. Before the remaining non-guaranteed guys get waived (as Gyro Step podcast hero Johnny O’Bryant sadly did) Rohan Katti and Ti Windisch decided to go through all 20 rostered Bucks and sort them into tiers. The guys also ranked them within those tiers, for a bit of extra debate.Shockingly, after Ti sorted a dozen or so teams into seven tiers before the playoffs last year, Rohan ended up with one more tier than in this exercise. The top three players on both of their lists is the most boring part, but it’s always fun to talk about Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday, so at least there’s that.Get the earliest heads up on ALL GSPN content, including podcasts, YouTube videos, and even new written articles on the GSPN Substack!
