Trump's Nonspeak Becomes Bragg's Wrongspeak IG12 - Instant Grace with Jim Babka

The law is specific. "Safe harbor words" define and determine what the Federal Election Commission regulates. No one is claiming Donald Trump used those words. It's hard to tell if Trump's lawyers understand the concept of "Express Advocacy," but if they do, and they use the argument found here, then D.A. Alvin Bragg lacks the felony he needs. S2 Ep 94EP94: Mimetic Mirror: Jerry Bowyer Explores Jesus's Eye Parable - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

A Bonus Jerry Bowyer Interview! *Profound insight awaits.* Former CNBC commentator, Jerry Bowyer, brings a fresh perspective to one of the most intriguing parables in the Bible — Jesus's Parable of the Eye. Documented in Matthew 7, this story is traditionally seen as a lesson on hypocrisy or forgiveness. Yet Jerry's interpretation reveals a deeper message about how we perceive ourselves and others, magnified through the lens of today's media-driven society. This episode not only unpacks the parable but also sheds additional light on Jim Babka's concept of the "Conflict Machine," describing how societal structures foster division. Jerry uses his CNBC background to shed light on how the media thrives on mimetic rivalry, negatively influencing public perception and personal values. And memorable metaphors like "Mirrors vs. Screens" and an episode of Star Trek (the original) will offer you actionable insights, instantly applicable to your daily life. Tune in to challenge your perspectives, understand the roots of societal conflicts, and transform how you engage with the world around you. S2 Ep 93EP93: Jesus Was NOT a Socialist, with Jerry Bowyer - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Was Jesus a Socialist? Jerry Bowyer joins us to dissect the misinterpretations of Jesus' teachings that have fueled such claims. Diving beyond the surface readings of Jesus advising a rich man to sell everything and aid the poor, or His righteous anger in the temple, Bowyer brings his economic expertise and thorough research in Biblical texts, history, and archeology to challenge the socialist narrative. In his book, "The Maker Versus the Takers: What Jesus Really Said About Social Justice and Economics," Bowyer highlights Jesus' encounters with the economic systems of His day -- systems rife with coercive taxation and exploitation of the poor by the elite. Jesus' "messianic" messages on debt forgiveness and His critiques of the economic status quo are explored, revealing a profound understanding of justice and economics that's far from socialism. This episode unpacks the true economic message of Jesus Christ, emphasizing freedom and the moral foundations of markets. Join us for a compelling correction of widespread misconceptions, and discover how Jesus' teachings resonate with principles of economic freedom and individual dignity. S2 Ep 92EP92: How Rene Girard Unclothes the State, with David Gornoski - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

How René Girard's 'Gospel Technology' Denudes the State, with Guest David Gornoski In a riveting intersection of philosophy, theology, and the heart of voluntaryism, David Gornoski unravels 'Gospel Technology' – a groundbreaking concept that lays bare the machinations of state power. Drawing from René Girard's insights, we uncover a revolution in personhood that challenges and dismantles the hierarchies of authority. Join us for a deep dive into reshaping social constructs for a liberated future, including… A Journey Into Superior Social Constructs Gospel Technology: "Dive into how 'Gospel Technology'—David Gornoski's innovative take on Girard—exposes the state's reliance on mimetic rivalry and violence. It's time to see beyond the facade of power structures and reclaim our narrative." The Personhood Revolution: "Embrace the radical power of recognizing each individual's sacredness. This bold acknowledgment strikes at the heart of the state's claim to violence and control. Are you ready to join the revolution?" From Myth to Reality: "Embark on a transformative journey from accepting pervasive myths to awakening to the stark 'unveiled truths.' Gospel technology doesn't just enlighten; it liberates." Once we have these insights... What Will You and I Do With This Knowledge? Discover the pivotal role of art and narrative in bringing gospel technology's truths to life. Art isn't just a mirror to society – it's a hammer with which to shape it. Learn how to wield this tool not only to challenge the status quo but to forge new visions of hope and transformation. We've described René Girard as the anthropological inspiration for Gracearchy. We just recently did our most important episode, "René Girard: The Founding of Religion and State." And now… Mr. Gornoski is the first commentator we've invited on the program to add color and depth to the subject. David shares his testimony as to how he discovered René Girard. He also unpacks Girardian insights such as... * The true definition of Apocalypse (it's not cataclysmic destruction). * Shakespeare's method of apocalyptic satire. * A discussion on the contagious nature of desire, including how societal movements can gain 'magic energy.' And David brings his own brand of Girardian analysis to other topics such as... * The insufficiency of Libertarianism. * The modern compartmentalization of faith, and its implications for personal and societal ethics. * The idea that modern ideologies and movements, even those seemingly secular, are deeply influenced by the narrative and ethos of Christ – a concept he calls "the Christ haunted world." On top of all that, we have two Gracepoints – ways to use and apply the information found in this rather unique presentation. Why It Matters This episode of Gracearchy is more than a mere conversation; it's a clarion call to dismantle the myths that shackle us and to pioneer governance rooted in dignity and respect. If hidden myths obstruct our path to true freedom, it's our duty to unveil them. Are you prepared to see the unseen and share this vision with the world? S2 Ep 91EP91: Don Lemon vs Elon Musk, Grace Lessons - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Masterclass in interview psychology & a fresh perspective on grace in journalism Don Lemon conducts an adversarial interview of Elon Musk. What did you see? https://youtu.be/hhsfjBpKiTw I, your moderator Bill Protzmann, recommend you watch this interview through Jim Babka's eyes. He'll show you things you'll likely miss, such as the use and power of these interview tactics... - The Awkward Pause - The Confidence Play, or how to "reset the guest" - Guilt by Association Jim also exposes the power and anti-grace of Shaming Your Subject. He presents a better alternative, showing how to graciously ask profoundly invasive questions. Plus, before you're done listening, you'll learn the right ways to check error with truth - and it's superior to censorship. After you watch this episode, you'll never see a hostile interview the same way again. You'll know what's really happening. This is our first-ever "reaction video." We include more than a dozen clips and analyze them. But... WHY DID WE CHOOSE TO DEVOTE AN EPISODE TO THIS EXCHANGE? ...especially given that it's straight out of the Conflict Machine? First, we uphold the First Amendment as more than a law. In its absolute form, it is an ethical statement. It is anti-relational to violate it. This intolerance overlooks the humanity of persons and reduces the chance of understanding. Harmony is much harder to achieve in the face of this intolerance. And there's a significant debate here about "content moderation" That caught Jim's attention. Then, once he watched the interview, something else leapt out. THERE'S A CNN IDEOLOGY Indeed, Don Lemon is such an adherent to it that he pulled off the most expensive prank in history. His zealousness also drove him to commit an act of "free press irony." You'll see both things during the show. There are two other bonuses in this, our longest episode ever. Elon has a high-leverage insight about conspiracy theories. Also, he gives a two-minute take on the question that so many people seem to wonder about: What makes Elon tick, and how does he see himself? TRANSPARENCY The Don Lemon episode on which this episode is based. https://youtu.be/hhsfjBpKiTw We're including the time stamps for the clips we played. S2 Ep 90EP90: TruthAboutWar.org 21-Year Analysis - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

21 years ago, my friends and I exposed a false flag war. Over the next several years, nearly every prediction we made happened. Our pre-Iraq War claims were thoroughly vindicated. They seem obvious now. But at the time, no major American institution was reporting the things we had found -- so we ran radio ads. The ads would air, and the stations would get angry calls and they refused to sell us additional time. We even got a death threat. The website was TruthAboutWar.org. It's been frozen - preserved since 2003. It's a timeless testament on how to use principles and heuristics to challenge political authority in a crisis. This episode of Gracearchy with Jim Babka is arranged around the four Truth About War radio ads. We play the ad, then break it down. We cover points such as... * Saddam Hussein had no nuclear weapons. * Saddam Hussein had no ties to al-Qaeda. * The first Bush administration knew Saddam was going to attack Kuwait. * George W. Bush had plans to oust Saddam before 9/11 happened. * Hussein supported no terrorism against the U.S. We dive into the manipulative baby incubator propaganda. We explain the importance of a formal war declaration by Congress. And more. This story isn’t just a relic of the past; it's a crucial lesson on the importance of questioning authority and understanding how the mechanics of fear are used to compromise our liberty. It's a lesson for today, tomorrow, and even future generations on the vigilance needed to safeguard, and hopefully expand our liberty. S2 Ep 89EP89: How Capitalism Optimizes Redistribution of Wealth - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Sharing Increases More With Capitalism - Not Under Socialism Will the haters come out for this 19-minute episode? Most people don't understand free-market capitalism. Even some of its defenders believe it's driven primarily by greed. The opponents of capitalism think greed is sufficient reason to compel people to share. They call that socialism or redistribution. In this episode, titled "How Capitalism Optimizes Redistribution of Wealth," we explain that... * Socialism is not sharing. * People want to share. * Investors are engaged in a form of sharing. * We "eat the rich"! That is, we directly benefit from wealth inequality. Plus, "tax-the-rich" advocates don't really address greed by others; they're engaged in ENVY themselves. This envy costs you and me. That's why... I have a killer question that exposes ENVY. You'll want to have this question in your pocket. Sometimes our most interesting conversations happen off-air and are not recorded. Once in a while, we wish we had recorded. This episode is an impromptu, post-show recording. I had no idea what Bill was going to ask me. But once I knew Bill's first question, we went back into studio mode. As a result, there's one section I feel like I flopped. We'll see if you can pick it out. S2 Ep 88EP88: René Girard: The Founding of Religion and State - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

This is the most important episode of Gracearchy, yet. The work of René Girard provides the "anthropological underpinnings" of Gracearchy with Jim Babka. Anthropology is the study of human society, including its origins, culture, social structures, and language. That's a pretty big topic, but this episode goes deeper. Girard's work is much like a "Theory of Everything." We recognize that this might be a turn-off. Some people prefer to show more sophistication by having a big catalog of explanations, perhaps two for every different subject. But in this episode, we show how Girard's work starts as a literary theory, then journeys on to anthropology and psychology, then travels through mythology, theology, and, finally, sociology. By traveling this path, as you will in this episode, you learn the origin of the State and of religion. And not only those things, but also the source of cultural rituals, political behaviors, and war. We cover all of that in this one episode! So the claim, that this is the most important episode we've yet done... Well, that's real. The Scapegoat The original goal of this episode was to cover and explain the role of the Scapegoat in René Girard's theory. But the conversation took off in inspired ways. The concept of the Scapegoat sits at the intersection of my personal theology and my Voluntaryist social philosophy. And Jim couldn't help himself -- he had to explain how it fits into a big picture. The Scapegoat is a sacrificial concept. Both institutional religion and statism are founded in and sustained by the blood of innocents. And the recognition of the Scapegoat can be an invitation to the end of superstition. Our journey includes Oedipus, Caiaphas, Hobbes, Nietzsche, and Kaepernick (yes, the quarterback). Examples from literature, history, and current events are also included. We hope you'll listen, slowly, carefully -- maybe even twice. This episode is that foundational. S2 Ep 87EP87: The Political Realignment with Stephanie Slade of Reason - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Do you understand the new political realignment? Is freedom fading? Traditional Democrats are fleeing their party. Many of them are sounding more socially conservative. Meanwhile, Republicans are questioning free trade and calling for industrial policy. They increasingly sound like FDR Democrats. Oh, and over the last few decades, the Libertarians popularized a Nolan Chart Quiz, demonstrating that left-right (liberal vs conservative) spectrum was incomplete. David Nolan introduced a second dimension that measured freedom vs authoritarianism. The result was a more diverse and accurate picture of individual ideology. Nolan's second axis is based on the political left standing for social freedom, and the political right working for economic freedom. But the purveyors of the most popular Quiz are noticing some strange behaviors. They're noticing less freedom too! We wonder what is happening. That's why we invited an expert to Gracearchy with Jim Babka... Stephanie Slade is a senior editor at Reason. She has written articles like "Can Free Markets Win Votes In the New GOP?" and "The Authoritarian Convergence" about the fact that each national party has become less (classically) liberal. We reference four of her most relevant articles, below. Slade is also an expert on "fusionism" -- the historical alliance between conservatives and libertarians. Remember when Ronald Reagan said, "Government is the problem?" What happened to that? We asked Stephanie. And you'll learn her answer by listening to this interview... Stephanie Slade is also a scholar for the Acton Institute. Acton is concerned with teaching the moral benefits and workings of free markets to Christians. Slade is herself a Catholic. Our show went from faith, to fusionism, to political realignment, to the rising illiberalism we are seeing in many places, including the Nolan Chart quiz. S2 Ep 86EP86: Do You Know Jon Stewart's Secret? - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Jon Stewart sounds different than all of the mainstream (mostly Democrat-leaning) commentators. In fact, they don't understand how he can criticize Joe Biden, even a tiny bit. Their sense of humor vanishes. I happen to know one of Jon Stewart's biggest performance secrets. Stewart understands something important about American politics. And I gave this insight a memorable name and wrote an entire article about it in 2021. When you discover this insight, it'll be like putting on new glasses. You'll see politics not only differently, but also with far greater clarity. The first step to being so insightful, is to listen to this 19-minute episode of Gracearchy with Jim Babka. **How Jon Stewart Killed Crossfire ** Stewart returned to The Daily Show two Mondays ago. Last Monday, he comedically critiqued Tucker Carlson's Putin production decisions. But that bit of satire was not their first rodeo. In this episode of Gracearchy, I re-tell the story of how Jon Stewart pulled back the curtain and exposed the central contrivance of CNN's Crossfire. Stewart's guest appearance, in front of co-host Tucker Carlson, was like a time bomb. It blew the longstanding show off the air, not long after. That appearance is so important, it has its own Wikipedia page and a YouTube version of it with 17 million views. Just a couple of years after Stewart's Crossfire appearance, I became one of five writers on a group blog. Stewart's Crossfire performance helped inspire a memetic idea that became the conclusion of all my blog posts. And it helped lead me to the secret shared in this episode. So... You'll hear the Crossfire story, my story, plus one other Jon Stewart bonus story in this episode. And before we're through... I'll explain where I still differ with Stewart. In fact, you'll hear how to "grace" - that is, we'll discuss grace as a verb. LINKS "Killing Crossfire" on YouTube https://youtu.be/aFQFB5YpDZE FACT-CHECK I (Jim) was wrong. It's extraordinary that there's a Wikipedia entry for this episode. And it indicates that cancellation took about three months, not three weeks. I stand corrected. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Stewart%27s_2004_appearance_on_Crossfire The Conflict Machine Explains Our Politics https://theexitnetwork.substack.com/p/the-conflict-machine-explains-our TIMELINE 0:00 Theme 0:44 Jon Stewart's return 1:46 Shrieking by Trump Derangement crowd 3:31 Tucker's favorite politician 5:04 Equal opportunity critic 6:38 False moral equivalency 7:10 Jon Stewart's secret 11:22 Real solution, stop and grace 12:40 How Jon killed Crossfire 16:30 Hardball delenda est Bill Protzmann is your moderator. S2 Ep 85EP85: Are Americans Brainwashed Into Submission? - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Americans are captives, conditioned to love their captors. Most Americans even get their own bodies confused on this matter, operating under the myth that they are the rulers of this country. That's an old fairy tale. That's why this episode of Gracearchy is titled "Are Americans Brainwashed Into Submission?" The concepts we covered match some of our Zero Aggression Project "Mental Levers" especially the one on... Stockholm Syndrome. This installment also features plain, blunt talk about... ...borders. ...the U.S. civic religion. ...how little your vote matters. ...how you don't even have choices about who governs you. Positive Rights, Positive Evil What is a right? Are healthcare, housing, food, and clean water rights? Recently, I had a conversation with a man who thinks that anyone who doesn't believe we have the collective duty to provide these things is... EVIL! That's backward. These items require someone to labor for their production. This next part is very, very crucially important... What is the funding mechanism? Donations or free-will purchases? Great. Taxes? Terrible. So I led this man through a thought-exercises. Instead of moral arguments, I focused on the practical ones. Positive rights are terrible products! And that involved a discussion of the following concepts... - The extraordinary overreaction that companies go through to protect their customers, while the State passes the buck and embraces inaction. You'll want to steal my arguments about Flint Water and safety caps! - The truth about government budgets. - The double-barrel question that exposes how little the state moralist cares. And all of this led to the following profound insight: "You have more power as a customer than you do as a citizen." And that, coincidentally, is another ZAP Mental Lever. Of course, it would be wrong to conclude that you and I are opposed to solving social problems. That's why, I concluded by offering five graceful rules to do much, much better at social spending without resorting to the evil of positive rights. TIMELINE 0:00 Theme 0:43 Stockholm Syndrome for the State 5:14 Straining for a social contract 8:38 We did NOT create this government 9:54 The truth about Borders 15:12 The civic religion 17:04 Proofs You are not the government 18:22 You don't staff the government 22:09 You don't even have a choice 25:14 Natural Rights vs... 26:57 The invention of positive rights 30:57 Who will deliver the water? 32:43 Consumers are smarter than voters 34:43 Companies fail but the State cannot 35:44 The revenue model matters 36:38 Companies over-respond 43:11 What have you done, personally? 44:01 Who has way more power than a voter? 46:00 Five rules for better social spending Bill Protzmann is your moderator. S2 Ep 84EP84: Deep Politics: How can you know what's real? - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Can You Resist the Masters of Political Fear? Propaganda is anti-grace. It seems vital that every one of us can spot manipulation and resist it. That's why the latest episode of "Gracearchy with Jim Babka" dives into the murky waters of political narratives, disinformation, and even invisible forces that shape everyone's perception of reality. Along the way, we took a look at 'Russiagate,' foreign meddling, and the role government employees play in misinformation. Hint: They do it a lot more than you realize, and it's not "censored" when they do. We give you a question that you should always ask if you want to know the underlying, concealed part of a political situation. We also show why bipartisanship is a scam. We also discuss a matter of the soul. Namely... Will you be pulled away from your values, and into conflict just for the sake of conflict? The leading actors in the political process are Provocateurs and Purveyors of Fear. They know how to consistently strike that nerve. But the situation is even worse than that... They also want to destroy your hope. For example, there's a story told to Democrat-leaning voters about Ralph Nader. It's pure myth. By the end of our journey, you'll be better equipped to spot when fear is being ginned up to manipulate you and better prepared to make decisions based on a deeper understanding of the forces at work. Don't get angry. Listen and learn... The "Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy" ad during the Super Bowl was "fake" - that is, it said nothing about Robert Kennedy's actual campaign. Even more importantly, there's one huge, super big reason his Super PAC wasted their money. And, as a former third party leader, Jim is in a real position to explain what that roadblock is and why it renders Kennedy's entire campaign to be a fake. S2 Ep 83EP83: Giving Secession a Bad Name - Gracerachy with Jim Babka

E

Will Texas secede based on anti-immigration sentiment? Grounded in the belief that nullification and secession are noble tools when they're used to uphold human liberty, Jim Babka has a debate on the pitfalls of misapplied liberty tactics, particularly in the context of immigration. Jim Babka appeared on The Gary Nolan Show (Zimmer Radio Network). That episode was based on a prompt that Jim sent to Gary... "I support nullification and secession when they're done to preserve the liberty of human beings, but I am dismayed when I see these strategies being used for anti-humane reasons. When nullification and secession are used to protect malicious acts, in a given state, it gives these tools of liberty a bad name. And the establishment has been quick to tie these ideas to bigotry." Host Gary played the role of "devil's advocate" -- debating, challenging Jim. Jim gave "rapid fire" answers to common anti-immigrant objections. Jim and Bill use this podcast to replay that Gary Nolan Show appearance, and "stop the tape" to slide in helpful commentary. This installment of Gracearchy delves into... * The morality of anti-immigrant acts and arguments. * Examples of liberal and conservative nullification. * The impact of immigration on border security and welfare benefits. * The role of prohibition and the war on drugs on immigration. * Addressing concerns about Texas secession and its impact on immigration issues. * The importance of personhood and the Image of God. S2 Ep 82EP82: Forgive Us Our Zyn - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Prohibition is Worse than Zyn The Schumer shakedown of flavored nicotine replacements. Zyn is a pouch that delivers nicotine. It replaces smoking. But... There's no smoke. Obvious, right? Not to the guardians of so-called "public health." And, in fact, not to lots of Americans. Many people connect nicotine, a natural product with effects like caffeine. Senator Chuck Schumer is targeting the product, as he did with vaping. He's accusing Zyn of "marketing to children." And his "scientific evidence? They sell flavors. Flavors! But the result could be a prohibition of the product or a ban of flavoring. We elaborate on all of this, plus explain how the Science Says that Schumer's action could be a disaster for public health. **Pseudo-science of Second Hand Smoke** There are historical reasons to believe that anti-smoking crusaders want something beyond, maybe even despite of, public health. One Foundation that proudly led the funding and the fight, sponsored and promoted junk science on second-hand smoke. They engaged the EPA in their work. And that's why we, on Gracearchy with Jim Babka, care about this story. The State should not be regulating the lives of peaceful adults. You might be prone to doubt what I'm saying about second-hand smoke, but in this episode, we bring the evidence. We'll also reveal the major anti-smoking players who disagree with banning nicotine products. Our story also includes alleged cronyism - by the same Foundation that led the fight against cigarettes. S2 Ep 81EP81: Bill Nye in the Lion's Den of Creationism - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

Jim was on fire, and this episode is like four shows in one! You should know that, up front, because most people look at episode length before deciding to press Play. Longer episodes get fewer listeners. But this is like four episodes in one. AND... There are so many original things said in this episode that you won't hear anywhere else. Here are four big themes we cover... 1. What is the primary motivation of The Creationist movement? They believe something is at stake. So, why are they failing at this existentially important goal? 2. Have you heard of deconstruction? It's the cause of the current young adult generation. The methods of creationism backfire, provoking a quest for truth. Where will they land? 3. If you're trying to help a creationist understand science, Jim has advice. He shares his journey from creationism, including what moved him and what turned him off. He has real solid, actionable advice. And, as always... 4. Grace. As usual, Jim provides "third-way" approaches to this debate. And he explains how Bill Nye's choice to speak up in a room full of people who disagree was an example of the power of grace. If you were a creationist, but you've evolved in your thinking, OR... If you know a creationist, and you want to learn how to talk to them in a way that might make a difference, OR... If you're curious, and you just want to learn how other people think or what makes them tick... THEN, this episode - where we revisit the Ken Ham vs Bill Nye, creation or evolution debate on its ten-year anniversary - has something for you. So, please disregard the episode length. This show is densely packed with insights. Listen in bits, if you must. S2 Ep 79EP79: Bill Ackman's Plagiarism Manifesto - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Unveiling a Plagiarism Epidemic Amongst the Expert Class? **Will Bill Ackman use AI to scorch the Ivy League? And will that be a good thing?** Trust in authorities and institutions of expertise is crumbling. This latest episode discusses a looming crisis within the expert class. Bill Ackman is a billionaire Harvard-alum and donor. He's also a former Michael Bloomberg campaign donor. Now, some are saying he's been "red-pilled" -- suddenly aware of how bad the left-wing leaders at Harvard are. Maybe he's even nailed a thesis for reform to the university door? Is that accurate? Well... Ackman wrote an epic Tweet about academic plagiarism -- printed out, it's 12 pages long! In that Tweet he advocates for using AI to detect plagiarism in professor's papers. And, he thoroughly and masterfully weaves through the complex questions that are likely to arise. We decided to sit down and talk about Bill Ackman's plagiarism proposal. In this episode, you'll discover how Bill Ackman's Plagiarism proposal could disrupt the Ivy League and even change societal rules for YOU. S2 Ep 78EP78: Intersectionality Catches Up With Claudine Gay - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Or, why Republicans suddenly love cancel culture! The demotion of Harvard's Claudine Gay opens up the chance to probe the philosophy of Intersectionality. Plus, a Harvard donor starts a war and is surprised when it comes to his home The way this drama is playing out, we also get to explore the motives of billionaire donor and Harvard alum, Bill Ackman, and his sudden interest in plagiarism by academics. From this episode, you will get distinct, insightful, and virtuous things to say whenever the conversations you're in move to Harvard, Claudine Gay, Bill Ackman, intersectionality, and plagiarism. The people in earshot will be amazed by your wisdom. Must you pick a side? As you'll learn during this episode, there's an "assumption that if the bad guys stopped being bad, then everything would be good." That view is normal yet naive. It leads to judgmentalism, blame, and even scapegoating. Worse, the incentives of the Conflict Machine (politics) and culture war run in an ugly, escalating direction. They induce fear. And... You'll also discover, in this program, that once people start acting inside the Conflict Machine, they strongly tend to almost completely shed their principles and, instead, start focusing on the destruction of other persons. The "side" you should pick is the path to harmony, and the path itself is grace. So perhaps very little of what I have to say about Claudine Gay or Bill Ackman will make either side happy. P.S. During the recording, I lost track of Bill Ackman's actual name and called him Ackerman instead. Both the moderator, Bill Protzmann, and I, do it more than once. It's a human mistake, and one I suspect Ackman has experienced scores of times in his life. To him and my listeners, I apologize for my human error. An AI would do better, but it also wouldn't have produced the creative and personal analysis you'll find in this episode. 0:00 Theme 0:43 Finding the gracepoint each time 2:10 Where the story begins 6:28 Iron sharpening or Anti-ism 9:16 Rep. S2 Ep 76EP76: How Conspiracies Conceal & Con - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

From Dismissal to Discovery: Unmasking Government Deceptions Or... How conspirators effectively deceive you and even conceal their crimes. Some of our most significant historical events are shrouded in secrecy. The power to keep these secrets is aided by a prevailing belief that "big conspiracies can't stay secret." Jim Babka contends that this assumption prevents us from understanding what happened, leaving us vulnerable and inviting it to happen again. In our newest installment of "Gracearchy with Jim Babka," we unravel the ways conspirators carry out their more complex plans. This isn't just about exposing hidden agendas; it's about challenging a pervasive misconception that has profound implications for your understanding of our world. So, if you've ever heard someone make a dismissive claim like, "Someone would've talked," this episode is for you! Maybe you're prone to write off anyone who takes a conspiracy theory seriously. We get you. That's why... This episode is the final installment of a three-part series. In EP74: How to Handle Conspiracy Theories, we provided taxonomies and other guidelines for analyzing conspiracy claims, including how to identify conspiracy fantasies and false conspiracies. In EP75: Conspiracy Myths and Conspiracy Mechanics, we covered five myths that give conspiracy theorists a bad reputation and explained why it's wrong to assume that actors in conspiracies have bad intentions or are outright evil. But, as this episode illustrates, conspiracies are actually quite common. Some of them operate in the open. Many are banal. Besides, the people who would simply accept claims by the media and the State are commonly prone to overlook historical facts. While in Tehran, in 1943, Winston Churchill told Josef Stalin “In wartime, Truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” And those in the trade of spycraft repeat that line like a saint quoting the Bible. Shouldn't you know how to recognize and decipher the lies that bodyguard the truth? S2 Ep 75EP75: Myths About Conspiracies - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

This episode starts by revisiting a topic from the past – the heuristic power of "Bootleggers and Baptists." We covered this in episode 70. At the time, we promised to revisit the application of this concept to conspiracy theories. In this episode, we deliver on that promise. Additionally, we cover Five Myths that Give Conspiracy Theorists a Bad Name. You'll get a good sense of what they are from the show notes, below, and an even better sense by listening! There are also Myths that Allegedly Rule Out Conspiracies. Before we conclude, we get into a common canard used to dismiss real conspiracies unthinkingly, and we give byword examples to prove our point. We had to stop there, in the interests of time, so… Other anti-conspiracy theory myths will get coverage in a near-future episode. This is the second of a series on handling conspiracy theories. S2 Ep 73EP73: Will Javier Milei Be A Libertarian? - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Will Javier Milei actually follow through and be a libertarian? The news has shocked the regime. We've been treated to nonsensical headlines like "Argentina Elects Extreme Right Wing Libertarian" or the breathless conspiracy theory that Javier Milei is the product of a network of libertarian billionaires. Perhaps a person who has worked as a professional libertarian for a quarter-century can provide accurate insight! Javier Milei has quoted Hayek and Rothbard. He's labeled himself an anarcho-capitalist. But when it comes time to govern, will Javier Milei actually be a libertarian? You'll learn important things about the task ahead of President Milei in this episode because we cover... - What is a libertarian? The media doesn't know. We explain. - What is life like when there was 5% poverty a decade ago, but now it's 40%, AND... - What is life like with triple-digit inflation and state price controls? - What is Peronism and what is a Justicialist? We also reveal the surprising American politician who is most Peronist. And we dig in to the things that concern us as outside libertarians looking in, such as... - How is fixing the economy similar to addiction recovery? Hint: Action must be quick and thorough. - How will he overcome all the different forces that are stacked against his success? And we conclude with a surprising and personal gracepoint. S2 Ep 72EP72: Four Questions You Should Ask About Military Interventions - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

Imagine YOU are a top-ranked radio talk show host. Much of your listening audience is gung-ho about getting the U.S. involved in yet another war (Ukraine). What would you do? Gary Nolan knew from experience that he could bring Perry Willis on the air to talk about the history of U.S. wars, their causes, their costs, and their consequences. Long-time followers of the Zero Aggression Project know that Perry has written several stunning articles reviewing the history and outcomes of U.S. wars. They're collected at a special website called WarTruth.org (link below). In the space of one hour Perry covered nearly every major U.S. foreign war from 1812 right up to our current meddling in Ukraine. He asked and answered four questions about each war. This episode is your chance to hear this interview, originally conducted August 28, 2023. We (Bill and Jim) consider this episode to be timely as we approach Veteran's Day, which was once called Armistice Day. Politicians too often use Veteran's Day to glorify war, whereas Armistice Day sought to remind people of the worst and most pointless war politicians ever caused. S2 Ep 71EP71: You Can Shout Fire In A Theater - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

It's time to demolish the myth that you cannot shout fire in a theater. It's not insightful. It's not graceful. It's not applicable. Instead, it's such a flawed concept that anyone who invokes it is worse than wrong. This canard is rolled out every single time someone wants to suppress expression they dislike. You'll turn on your TV, and some interviewer will say, "But the First Amendment says they have a right to free speech," to which the Authoritarian of the Hour will respond, "Well, there are exceptions to the First Amendment, I mean we already know that... "You cannot shout Fire! in a theater." Except... 1. You absolutely CAN shout fire in a theater. 2. S2 Ep 70EP70: Bootleggers and Baptists - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Bootleggers and Baptists. This mental lever, from Public Choice Theory economics, explains incentives and behaviors inside the Conflict Machine (politics). Many people demonize political actors, especially while analyzing the activities of the opposition party. But when you see CRONYISM at work, or if you believe you've discovered a CONSPIRACY THEORY, this Baptists and Bootleggers heuristic will help you be BOTH more *gracious* and *accurate* in your assessment of the actors involved. Bruce Yandle labeled this concept, but this episode contains a NEW insight: The ratio of Baptists to Bootleggers. It also includes a bit of strategy: What if the Baptists discovered what was going on? 0:00 Intro 0:55 Leveraged thinking and Public Choice Theory 4:07 Angels and demons in politics 5:47 Bootleggers and Baptists 7:40 For example, Ralph Reed 9:32 For example, environment 10:10 Crony capitalism 12:56 Can a Crony be a Baptist? 14:16 Ratio of Baptists to Bootleggers 16:48 Gracepoint-Bootleggers and Baptists as a tool of grace 21:50 Four ways cronyism is pernicious 27:32 We gotta tell the Baptists about this 27:46 National doctor, Big Shot, and millions of Baptists 31:04 Better analysis of conspiracy theories 38:35 Why we did this show 39:25 How to be wise Bill Protzmann is your moderator. IG06: How Robert Kennedy Is Quitting The Race - Instant Grace with Jim Babka

bonusE

Robert Kennedy is essentially quitting the race. Cornell West is doing the same. Neither man realizes it yet. Each man is doing what at least one billionaire promises to do each year - run as an independent. This means a run to irrelevance. Those men abandon their campaigns. Here, I explain why. Kennedy has been complaining that the Democratic Party is not at all Democratic - it's Rigged. So... **He jumped from the frying pan directly into the fire.** I'm not being harsh. I speak from experience. I cover my credentials in this installment of Instant Grace, which includes being the Press Secretary for a third party candidate who was on 49 state ballots. Both men will get a good and hard lesson on both parties have colluded to shield themselves from challenge! S2 Ep 69EP69: The Golden Rule Universality of Respect and Grace - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

A Universal Rule that Zeroes Aggression What if everyone already agrees with you? There's a concept that's agreed upon almost universally. The version most Americans know is called the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have done to you." It's Golden for a reason. It's primary. It's elevated. It sums up a lot. And any professed adherent to the long list of value systems we cover in this still short episode should be able to appreciate the Zero Aggression Principle... _Never aggress against another person to achieve a social goal, nor authorize another person to do that on your behalf._ Episode 3 (June, 2022) was about the Golden Rule. In it, I (Jim) told my personal Golden Rule story, which involved Ron Paul and Rene Girard. Bill and I also discussed how to steelman (as opposed to strawman). Here in episode 69, we not only had new things to say about the Golden Rule, but also I presented something so original you've probably never heard it before... Where do your rights come from? Once you know the answer to that question, you can see and understand the secret to making a successful social appeal! We also cover Golden Rule applications like... - The Second-level Steelman - The Philosophy of Human Respect And I answer the question, "Why do we veer away from the Golden Rule?" Timeline 0:00 Intro 0:43 Second Golden Rule episode 2:29 Universality of Golden Rule 6:33 Alleged "masochist" objection 7:46 Golden Rule in philosophy 9:41 Silver rules like Zero Aggression Principle {the crawler wasn't up very long, and it was reverse-lettered (white) so difficult to read - don't replace this time, just a note for next time} 11:35 The basis of your rights 14:36 Strategy of appeal 18:12 Second-level Steelman 24:03 The music method to grace - Musimorphic 25:47 Philosophy of Human Respect 29:29 Why do we veer away from Golden Rule? 30:56 Are you a good person? S2 Ep 68EP68: Is Censorship Graceful? Ready to Rumble? - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

Because Gracearchy was recently censored, we're ready to Rumble. YouTube removed one of our episodes. The good news is that we appealed and within four hours they restored it. We're not leaving YouTube because it's the biggest platform. It's natively on everyone's phone and smart TV. The goal of any show, including ours, is to reach as many people as possible. This is an outreach, and we believe we must reach into the Matrix. But Rumble doesn't censor the kind of content we produce, and they have very recently resisted doing so when the United Kingdom's government directly "urged" them to do so with Russell Brand. So, starting today, we will also put our podcast on another streaming service – Rumble. We explain two recent events in this episode. First, which episode did YouTube censor? Why did it happen? Second, did YouTube "dial down" another one of our programs (a.k.a., suppress the algorithm)? If so, which one and why? Other reasons to listen... - Our handling of the dirty words you cannot say on YouTube is one of the funniest things we've done. - We break down the result of Missouri v. Biden. - We explain how censorship cancels epistemological journeys and crushes respectful dialogue. S2 Ep 67EP67: Baxter Kruger's Trinitarian Vision Pt 3 - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

We've been talking with Baxter Kruger of Perichoresis about the Trinity and the myth of separation from God. This is revolutionary stuff, or so it seems. For many people, the stuff we said in Part 1 (Ep 65) and Part 2 (Ep 66) of this series may seem new. That's why, with this final installment, I wanted you to see something Baxter has never done in any publicly available video... _Layout the historical thread, starting with the apostles, right up through to the present._ Theologians aren't generally praised for being "novel" and "innovative." The problem is that the truths we discussed with Baxter have been obscured for a long time. As a result, what appears to be orthodox today is actually a newer form of error. Why should you care? Because these modern errors serve to maintain existing power structures. Indeed, I'm persuaded that discussions like the ones we've had with Baxter matter to our voluntaryist cause. To the degree that believers understand what's being shared in this series -- in this podcast! -- the cult of the omnipotent State would recede. THIS EPISODE is Part 3 of the series, and it's titled The Thread of Redemption. It's an annotated reading list from a well-read man. S2 Ep 66EP66: Healing Us and Our World: Baxter Kruger's Trinitarian Vision Pt 2 - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Have you ever been told you're separated from God, that there's an inherent evil within you that makes God turn away? While such beliefs have provided comfort to some, they've also caused rifts and justified cruelty. In this episode, we shatter the myth of separation from God and embark on a transformative journey. Join Jim and Bill as they converse with Baxter Kruger in our enlightening series, 'The Trinitarian Vision'. This installment, titled 'Healing Us and Our World', travels to the depth of your soul and finds God's predestined plan. The stunning result is Love that draws us together and enables us to practice grace - the healing of us and our world. The Trinitarian Vision ©C. Baxter Kruger, Ph. D., 2010 Reprinted with permission, PART 2 (of 2) - See Part 1 of "The Trinitarian Vision" in the show notes of Episode 65 - When Adam and Eve rebelled, ushering chaos and misery into God's creation, the Father, Son, and Spirit never abandoned Their dream, but wonderfully incorporated darkness and sin into the tapestry of the coming incarnation. As the Father's Son became human, and as He submitted Himself to bear our anger and bizarre blindness, and as He gave Himself to suffer a murderous death at our hands, He established a real and abiding relationship with fallen humanity at our very worst – and He brought His Father and the Holy Spirit with Him. It was in Jesus Himself, and in His death at our bitter hands, that the Trinitarian life of God pitched its tent in our hell on earth, thereby uniting all that the Father, Son, and Spirit share with all that we are in our brokenness, shame, and sin – adoption. In the life and death of Jesus, the Holy Spirit made Her way into human pain and blindness. Inside our broken inner worlds, the Spirit works to reveal Jesus in us so that we can meet Jesus Himself in our own sin and shame, and begin to see what Jesus sees and know His Father with Him. The Holy Spirit takes of Jesus and discloses it to us, so that we can know and experience Jesus's own relationship with His Father, and we can be free to live in the Father's embrace with Jesus. As the Spirit works, we are summoned to take sides with Jesus against our own darkness and prejudice, and take simple steps of trust and change. As we do, Jesus's own anointing with the Spirit – His own fellowship with His Father, His own unearthly assurance, His own freedom and joy and power in the Spirit – begin to form in us, while not diminishing but augmenting and freeing our own uniqueness as persons. The Spirit's passion is to bring Her anointing of Jesus to full and personal and abiding expression in us as unique persons, and not only in us personally but in our relationship with the Father in Jesus, and in our relationships with one another and indeed with all creation, until the whole cosmos is a living sacrament of the Great dance of the triune God. S2 Ep 65EP65: The Meaning of Life: Baxter Kruger's Trinitarian Vision Pt 1 - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

When we started Gracearchy, we made a short list of guests, including... C. Baxter Kruger: My go-to teacher on the Trinity. People struggle to get this RELATIONSHIP inside God - individuals in self-giving love, to which you are invited. Losing sight of that, faith became a knowledge test, even a blind leap, leading to... Legalism. People inside felt trapped and unworthy. They projected that on the world. The result? Another religion seeking earthly power. That shouldn't have happened. Christians should be known for Love, based on Trinity. This divine relationship is the source of existence, the model for social interactions, and the place we're invited to rest. This episode and Part 2 are essentially a discussion of... The Trinitarian Vision ©C. Baxter Kruger, Ph. D., 2010 Reprinted with permission, PART 1 (of 2) From all eternity, God is not alone and solitary, but lives as Father, Son, and Spirit in a rich and glorious and abounding fellowship of utter oneness. There is no darkness or emptiness in this circle, no depression or fear or insecurity. The trinitarian life is a great dance of unchained communion and intimacy, fired by passionate self-giving and other-centered love, and mutual delight. This life is good. It is right, unique, full of music and joy, blessedness and peace. Such love, giving rise to such togetherness and fellowship and oneness, is the womb of the universe and of humanity within it. The stunning truth is that this Triune God, in amazing and lavish love, determined to open the circle and share the trinitarian life with others. This is the one, eternal, and abiding reason for the creation of the world and of human life. There is no other God, no other will of God, no second plan, no hidden agenda for human beings. Before the creation of the world, the Father, Son, and Spirit set Their love upon us and planned to bring us to share and know and experience the trinitarian life itself. Unto this end, the cosmos was called into being, and the human race was fashioned, and Adam and Eve were given a place in the coming of Jesus Christ, The Father's Son Himself, in and through whom the dream of our adoption would be accomplished. Before creation, it was decided the Son would cross every chasm between the triune God and humanity and establish a real and abiding relationship with us – union. Jesus was predestined to be the mediator, the one in and through whom the very life of the triune God would enter into human existence, and human existence will be lifted up to share in the trinitarian life. - SNIPPED: See Part 2 of "The Trinitarian Vision" in the show notes of Episode 66 - 0:00 Intro 0:43 The roots of Grace 1:40 Welcoming Baxter Kruger 3:21 Our Topic: The Trinitarian Vision 6:52 The purpose of it all 7:55 The original plan inside God 8:39 We are wrong about God 13:37 How the West lost the Trinity 18:37 Misdefining faith, losing relationship 22:45 God does not do abandonment 27:52 Coercive evangelism is unnecessary 30:51 Is God in you? IG05: Burning Man and Climate Alarmism - Instant Grace with Jim Babka

Dear NY Times, Climate Alarmism Is Immoral Burning Man participants got stuck in the mud. Like most things, the NY Times thinks climate change is to blame, or at least, they think that's what will get readers to open this article... https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/06/opinion/burning-man-flood-playa-climate-change.html They run articles like this... ALL THE TIME. Climate change is happening. But is alarmism justified? Are their solutions scientific? Predictions should be tested. S2 Ep 63EP63: The Decline and Fall of the Evangelical Empire - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

In 1994, Mark Noll wrote a book to encourage reform with his fellow evangelicals. He titled it, "The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind." But the pews are emptying. A mass exodus is underway. And many observers say the real scandal is the political mind of the religious right. Are the critics correct? Bill Protzmann and I (Jim Babka) had a long, wide-ranging discussion. And it led me to praise the burning down that's happening. I even call for the end of the institutional churches. I grew up in fundamentalism. I admire the father who raised me that way. I recognize the good in the people still holding those views. This perspective-taking is an essential part of the practice of Grace. It also means I'm in a unique position to offer an honest critique. This VERY wide-ranging discussion goes through several historical touch-points, including the conservative evangelical approach to... - Science (flood geology) - Politics (from Moral Majority to Ralph Reed) - Foreign Policy (dispensationalism, from Scofield to LaHaye) We also cover an event from 19 years ago that demonstrates just what a bad deal it was to sell out the kingdom for the pottage of politics. Yet, we are balanced enough to cover how the secular, political left contributes to the fears of evangelicals because too many people want to believe it's all one side's fault. We fairly and justly explain the roots of fundamentalism, but not in a vacuum, because… It not only doesn't have to be this way, but also the community of faith wasn't originally designed this way. We explain what happened and how we can live in a world that doesn't feature this fight. OUTSIDE If you're not a member of the evangelical camp, you'll come away with a better understanding of these people, your neighbors. INSIDE As for the members of this tribe, who might be frightened by the subject matter, I empathize with your concerns. But don't you think you should be open and honest about why the younger generation is deconstructing, leaving the church, and ultimately departing the faith? Pew, George Barna, and others have made you well aware. But almost every answer from inside the evangelical camp blames outsiders. But what about dealing with the eye beam? INSIDE-OUT If you already have a foot out the door, then maybe before you listened to this episode, you couldn't quite describe everything you were feeling. *Well, this episode will be most comforting to you. I am a Done, as in done with attendance. I want you to know there is life and there is even faith after you leave this institution!* 0:43 The Dones with church 2:47 A target audience 3:46 Scandal of the Evangelical Mind 5:02 Understanding the fundamentalist mind 7:12 Shaming fundamentalism won't work 7:48 Flood geology created 9:03 Moral Majority invented 11:51 Dispensationalism and the Military-Industrial Complex 17:49 The escalation of conflict makes things worse 20:36 I was there - growing up fundamentalist 22:13 Grace to overcome Fear 25:16 We're not here to save the world 27:47 The first commitment is to the truth 29:04 Social philosophy with political implications 31:22 The pastor and the pornographer 32:15 AD 33 vs 500 AD 35:18 A meal, a family, and an ekklesia 37:45 Politics in the early church 39:21 Ralph Reed, Nothing new? 41:17 Detour: Guns, Bibles, and Antipathy 43:26 Returning to Ralph Reed 46:09 The Church Inc, part of the problem 48:41 Not patriotism, but a cross 50:20 No plan to run the lives of others 52:18 The Arlington Group conspiracy 55:00 The Word is a Who 59:12 Tell me more 1:02:07 If you're nearly DONE with church National Day of Prayer doc on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/80063867 Bill Protzmann is your moderator. S2 Ep 62EP62: Faith, Vaccination, Consideration, and Coercion with Dave Brisbin - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

Must future outbreaks be brother vs brother? Bill Protzmann took the lead in this discussion and interviewed Dave Brisbin and me (Jim Babka) about our response to the shot, to mandates, and how that stuff affected us. Our responses are different. Our decisions about the shot were the opposite. So… How could they both be the "right response" from a shared faith perspective? How could brother agree with brother? Viewers and listeners will learn how and why the answer is found in something called the macro and the micro. Amazingly, this episode was recorded in May. Now, the Do Not Consent movement helps make it timely. As you know quite well, principles are timeless. We also address an issue that nagged at me during 2020: Why were "church people" so scared of death? This is a "bonus episode" to the series we've already done with Pastor Dave Brisbin of "theeffect." They're all quite short. The Weakness of Orthodoxy with Dave Brisbin - EP 57 (23 minutes), Reconsidering the Kingdom of God with Dave Brisbin - EP 58 (14 minutes), and Explaining the Trinity with Dave Brisbin - EP 59 (36 minutes). S2 Ep 61EP61: Crucifying Donald Trump Empowers Him - Gracearchy with Jim Babka

E

You're going to think, based on the title, that we're doing an episode about Donald Trump's indictments. Well, as Thoreau wrote, "There are a thousand hacking at the branches... to one who is striking at the root." There could be a dozen more indictments. Let the regime media obsess about that. What's more interesting is that candidate Trump seems to be crushing it in the polls! Why? Could you imagine this happening before Trump did it? There have been commentators offering answers. Frankly, most of them are hacking at the branches. Their explanations have been lame, if not wrong. An article for Compact Magazine by Lee Siegel titled, "The Crucifixion of Donald Trump," is on the right track and provides valuable insight. https://compactmag.com/article/the-crucifixion-of-donald-trump In this episode of Gracearchy with Jim Babka, I [Jim Babka] use the Siegel article to go deeper. I'll take you to the very root of this matter. I'll do even more. I'll also tell you how... Donald Trump is actually empowered by his alleged enemies. My explanation is derived from both an important book and the lens of grace (of course). When you listen, you'll learn the name of that book and how grace applies. Even better... You'll get the details and come away able to share this insight with others. You'll sound brilliant with people on both sides. You might even help heal the world. 0:00 Intro 0:43 Is understanding complicity? 3:08 Civilization's goal: Human Respect 7:18 Trump is the pain, not the medicine 10:44 Trump The Anti-Fragile Politician 15:43 Why the Media & DNC make Trump powerful 20:01 Clinging to guns, Bibles, and antipathy 22:49 MAGA, Media, DNC all want this! 23:38 Gracearchy is anti-bipartisan 24:54 Trump is more a phenomenon than a person 27:03 Trump's deplorable, we're deplorable 28:18 If Trump tweets in the forest... 30:10 Coming soon from Gracearchy Labs 31:54 Shame is a failed strategy 34:57 Understanding is not complicity 35:42 How to show grace, instead "Antifragile" by Nassim Taleb: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antifragile_(book) Bill Protzmann is your moderator.
