In light of last week's episode on Christmas, today we dive into the very relevant topic of Jesus' humanity and deity. How is it that the Messiah needed to be both fully God and fully man? What does that mean for us as Christ-followers? Please join us as we discuss this key topic.

Politics and religion. The two topics that we are always supposed to avoid, right? Today we break that rule by talking about the role of government as ordained by God in the Bible. How much should the government be doing? What are its primary duties? We cover both of those questions and more on today's episode.

Is God sovereign over every aspect of our lives? What does Jesus mean when He says that all authority has been given to Him? Typically when we think about God's sovereignty we almost immediately think about how to understand evil and suffering in the world. Today we focus on a different aspect of God's sovereignty, namely how He is the Lord and King over our work, recreation, worship, family, and relationships. We also discuss the reality that even though there are different spheres in our lives, Jesus is Lord over all of them.

Who is your pastor and what does he do? That is the question we address with our first guest on the show, Tim Buczek. Tim is the pastor of Hilltown Baptist Church and has served in full-time ministry at HBC for the past fourteen years. On today's episode Tim discusses his spiritual background, how he got involved in ministry, and some of the things that the Lord has set on his heart for the future.

Trick or treat? What is Halloween and how should Christians respond to it? Is it something that Christians should avoid or can we participate? Even if we can participate, what are the limits that we should hold ourselves to? These are the questions that we tackle today on the program.

On this episode we look at the purpose of God's law, what it means, and how to apply it to our lives as Christians. We address the common method of dividing God's law up into the three categories of civil, ceremonial, and moral. Finally, we consider how God's law is to be used to bring us to Christ, to guide us in our Christian walk, and to restrain evil in the world.

Covenants vs. Contracts. Today we look at the differences between them, including how covenants are person-oriented and relational while contracts are more thing-oriented and negotiable. We also consider some examples of covenants in Scripture and how to view the major covenants between God and man. Covenants are a major theme through the Bible and the method by which God relates to and communicates with humanity.

What is marriage? What is its purpose and how are husbands and wives to relate to one another? Eric and Dillon look at the institution of marriage and how it ultimately points to Christ and the Church. Lastly, they consider how husbands are to be servant-leaders in the home and what specifically this looks like.

Eric and Dillon look at the concept of hermeneutics (Herman who?), which is simply a fancy word for how to read and interpret Scripture. They discuss things such as historical context, theological context, and original intent. They also address the relationship between the multiple human authors and the one divine author of the Bible.

Today Eric and Dillon discuss what it means to love the Lord with all your mind, including how the mind relates to emotions and to the will.

Today, in their very first episode, Eric and Dillon give a brief description of who they are, what they are doing, and why they are doing it. Their goal is to address important cultural and theological topics for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry.
