2019 is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, a riot considered one of the most significant moments in LGBTQ history. The Stonewall Reader, a new anthology of the historic event, edited by Jason Baumann, the New York Public Library coordinator of humanities and LGBTQ collections, coincides with the NYPL exhibition he curated on the uprising and the gay liberation movement of 1969.
