Why So Quiet?
So many of us are desperate to hear from God. We want more of God, especially when we go through "wilderness" times of life. The good news is that God wants to have a close, personal relationship with you and me. He wants to provide the comfort and wisdom we long for. The question is, are we ready and willing to listen?
Only Grace
Lead Pastor Paul Mumaw shares the beauty and importance of Grace as given by Jesus to us as followers of Christ, in our outdoor Service Memorial Day Weekend
Being Intentional With Our Time
In Acts 14, we see Paul and Barnabas finish up a long, fruitful missionary journey. But instead of going home, we are told they went back to Antioch and "spent lots of time with the believers there." What can we learn from this passage, and how can we use it to help us use our time to intentionally invest in others?
The Details Matter
The fate of the world rested in the hands of one red button. If it weren't for the discernment of one man, who knows what life would look like today.
I Need a Miracle!
From school to work to relationships to kids to finances, life is hard. But then there are those problems that come flying into our lives from out of nowhere and make life all the more overwhelming. Do you feel stuck with nothing left to give? Waiting on God for a miracle? The good news is that God has what we need and prayer is a gift given to us to help us through.
Dead to Sin. Alive in Christ.
The bad news is that sin means we've all missed the mark. Death is what we deserve. The good news is that God sent Jesus as a remedy, a solution to the problem of sin and death. His death and life means that God offers something better. Trusting Jesus with every part of our lives means that death is defeated and that we are alive in Jesus Christ.
There Is No Them ... Only Us
There is an “us vs. them” mentality that has been tearing our world apart for centuries. It allows petty things like politics, economic, social status, age, and even skin color to draw hurtful boundaries between people. In Acts 11 we find an anonymous group of believers who show us what happens when the Church leads the way in shattering the us vs. them barrier.
A Gospel for Everyone
Campus Pastor Steve Wallen continues our Sent series in the Book of Acts chapter 10, where Peter receives a vision from the Lord that changes the way the world sees the Gospel.
Back to Life
In Acts 9 we meet a man named Saul. He was violently opposed to the idea of the resurrection of Jesus and the thought that He could be God’s promised Messiah. All that changed when he met the resurrected Jesus face to face. Just like Saul, Jesus came to rescue us from our sins and to give us a new life that can only be found in Him.
A Better Way to Live
God wants everyone to put their faith in Jesus and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, but it’s also God’s desire that you and I will be filled and empowered and directed by the Holy Spirit each day. There's no better way to live.
When Victory Looks Like Defeat
There are times in our lives when we feel defeated. Often, these can be the times where God can work most powerfully. In Acts 8, what we see in the first church was that its growth really took off when persecution struck and the people were forced to scatter. What looks like defeat is often God's victory in disguise!

Nothing But Ordinary

The Answer to My Prayer

Carmel Groups Pastor Dan Towle, brings this series to a close as we look to Jesus and see for ourselves what brings Him joy, and the important part we have to play.
The Pathway
Last week, we talked about disciple making, and how that is our call for each of us individually. But our faith was never meant to be lived alone. Even from the very beginning of Christianity, there was a body of believers, a church, for people to be connected to. At Genesis, we’ve developed a pathway for everyone to join and find a way to connect in community here, to encounter Jesus, follow Jesus, and multiply a few.
Vision
In week 2 of our Reset Series, Campus Pastor Steve Wallen recaps our Church Vision and what Jesus has to say about the church and our mandate as believers.
Mission
The mission of Genesis Church is Helping People Find Their Way Back to God. This comes out of 2 Cor 5:20 when we read “we are Christ’s ambassadors; …We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” (NLT) Everything we do at Genesis Church – from kids to students to adults - is filtered through the mission of “helping people find their way back to God.” What does this mission mean for each person at Genesis? How do we make the church’s mission our personal mission?
Leaving Behind Despair
Leaving Behind Bitterness
Life happens. People hurt us. If we’re not careful, bitterness can get the best of us and influence everything we do. Someone once said, “Bitterness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.” God can help us overcome our BITTERNESS so that we can travel light.
Leaving Behind Loneliness
Loneliness is an epidemic in our culture. So many of us feel isolated and the last couple of years have only intensified that feeling. God cares about the lonely and has a plan to overcome it. Let go of LONELINESS and travel light.
Leaving Behind Busyness
Busyness has become a serious problem that is weighing us all down. It keeps us on the run and distracts us away from things that matter the most, but in Luke 10, Jesus wants us to see that there’s something more important in life than getting things done.
Fishing All Night, But Catching Nothing
The gospel of John closes with this strange story of Jesus once again appearing to his disciples and helping them catch some fish. Set Apart and Set On Mission

In this powerful prayer Jesus not only prayers for himself, he also prays that his glory would be revealed through the obedience of his followers and his future church.
Finding Genuine Joy
In John 16, Jesus tells his disciples, “you will weep and you will grieve, but your sorrow will turn to joy.” He says this because he knows the resurrection is about to happen. As we Christians in the 21st century, now stand on this side of the resurrection, we should be the MOST JOYFUL people in the world. So, why aren’t we? Why are we still run down by the worries and cares of this world? Today, we’ll look at how to experience genuine joy in the kingdom of God.
I've Got You Covered
Jesus warned his followers that living out our faith in him will be difficult, but at the same time he wants us to know that he’s got us covered! In John 16, Jesus promised that he would send the Holy Spirit to encourage, empower and defend his followers through all the challenges of life.
