Exodus 32 records one of the greatest failures of faith in all of Scripture, and it leaves us asking “What were they thinking?!” But it’s not just a story of something that happened to people in the past, it’s also meant to reveal an issue we all struggle with today.

Exodus 25-27 and 35-40 detail the building of the tabernacle for the People of God. But the Lord didn’t just give instructions to Moses on how to build His sanctuary. He asked for the people to give an offering of their Treasure and their skill.

People climb mountains every day and for all sorts of reasons. Moses was a mountain climber, but he wasn't motivated by the adventure or the thrill. It was something else, the most important thing about him... and the most important thing about our lives too.

What would you say if someone asked you what the 10 commandments are and if they are still relevant to us today?

In Exodus 19 and 20 the Israelites learn a valuable lesson that still applies to us today: God’s holiness separates Him from us…but He still longs to be close to us.

As the People of God, we are called to rally around the banner of Jesus Christ. We have to learn to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, tell the Good News of Jesus Christ, and share the ministry of helping people find their way back to God.

The power of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead can be hard to believe. His closest followers struggled to believe even though the tomb was empty! But for nearly 2,000 years, people have gathered together to celebrate and share the good news that Jesus is alive and has come to bring us peace with God.

The question isn't whether we will go through the wilderness, it's when & how. We all go through seasons of life that are hard & challenging. The good news is that the wilderness is not the final stop. God can use the time to grow our faith and increase our trust in Him as The People of God.

Exodus 13 & 14 describe the beginning of a really long road trip and the most difficult predicament Israel had ever faced up to this point in their history. But what makes their situation unique is that God's response to it will become one of the most talked about, most celebrated events in Israel's history. And there are lessons in it that relate to us too!

Exodus 7-10 tells a story of God's might on display versus Egyptians gods. But as we see, there are takeaways for us as believers, to put our trust fully in the Lord's plan for our life, and not harden ourselves to His voice.

Early in the book of Exodus God begins to make the power of his name known to a variety of different people. The question they were faced with is the same question we wrestle with today: do we trust in the promises of God and the power of His name, or will we choose to ignore them and turn away from Him?

God uses imperfect people to accomplish his perfect will.

The book of Exodus tells us how God claimed the Israelites as his very own people, and the good news is that the same is true for anyone that has put their faith in Jesus today!

Prayer is meant to be a conversation with God…which makes it sound easy. However, learning to pray can be intimidating! Thankfully Jesus has provided us with a structure for prayer that can help us draw closer to God in simple and personal ways.

Jesus modeled when and how to connect with God in a busy world. When we follow the examples Jesus modeled, intentionally removing the loud distractions of daily life, God takes important action in our lives.

We're always on the move, never slowing down. Are you exhausted? Feel like you are running on empty? It doesn't have to be like that. God has offered us a better way.

Memorizing and meditating on God’s word is important, but to hide his word in our hearts we must move past just cognitive memorization, it has to move from mind, to heart.

Throughout our Christmas series, we’ve been talking about the joy of Christmas: that through Jesus, God has come to be WITH us! We’ve looked at the stories of a few people around the time of Jesus’ birth encountering Jesus and being transformed by his presence. As we bring this “WITH” series to a close, we want to focus even more on Jesus’ presence with us today. To do that, we’re going to jump from the opening chapters of Luke’s narrative to his last chapter. We will follow the story of two people who also encountered Jesus and draw parallels between their lives – their challenges – and ours. We can find hope in the truth that through the presence of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is WITH us now. And because of Jesus’ finished work, we will be WITH him forever.

Christmas is a time to celebrate the arrival of Jesus as proof that God has come to be with us, but it’s also a reminder that we are waiting for him to return again as the eternal King of Kings who will be with us forever.

Christmas reminds us that Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. That message is so important for those of us who have put our faith in Him. It's also a reminder of the responsibility we have to help others experience His presence too.

Christmas can mean a lot of things. Don't miss what's most important. God sent Jesus, Immanuel. What was true then is true today. He is God WITH Us.

It’s OK to have money… as long as MONEY doesn’t have us. And that’s where the problem usually arises. We go looking to money to meet our needs, to cover up our wounds, and to satisfy. But the important, and sometimes difficult lesson to learn about life and money and satisfaction is this… true, lasting satisfaction only comes to us through Jesus! That’s why this series isn’t about you having LESS money. The answer is MORE of JESUS… That’s what we want for our lives. That’s what we want for our church.

If we're not careful, fear can get to any of us. It finds its way into just about any aspect of life, including how we think about money. God doesn’t want us living in FEAR. He has something BETTER for each of us, a way of living that decreases the FEAR and increases the TRUST.

The way we view money and possessions can be positive and life giving, or negative and disruptive. On several occasions Jesus warned that a love of money can distract our hearts away from God and have damaging eternal consequences. The question that all of us need to answer is: how can we learn to want less stuff so we can enjoy true contentment.

We live in a world that idolizes money and tempts us into believing the lie that the more we have the better life will be. The problem is that our pursuit of more has lead to more stress, more anxiety and more discontentment - no matter how much we have, make or save. Jesus has identified the problem as greed, and he wants to help us learn how to dethrone greed in our hearts, so we can learn to live a life of gratitude and generosity.

If you’re going to live for Jesus in this world, you’re going to need lots of encouragement along the way. In this message you’ll meet Barnabas. We need more like him, and you can be a Barnabas right where you are.

The final chapter of the book of Acts begins with the Apostle Paul surviving a shipwreck then being bitten by a viper…and it ends with him on house arrest and chained to a Roman soldier. But in spite of those challenges, he continued to live out his faith in Jesus and even got to see the fruits of his labor. In this final chapter of Acts, Paul shows us how to stay on mission for Jesus, especially when it would be easier just to give up.

Life is guaranteed to be stormy at times, but what do you do when the storms of life attack your peace and rob you of joy? In Acts 27 the Apostle Paul shows us that it is possible to experience and share the peace of God in spite of the storms of life.

In Acts 24, Paul was on trial before Roman governor Felix and he was blameless. Paul shamelessly preached about faith in Jesus and so put Felix on trial in his conscience. As Christians, whether we like it or not, our faith is on trial before a watching world so like Paul we must live blameless and be shameless about Christ. After this life, every one of us will stand before God and face judgment – it will be the trial of our lives. Paul trusted in Jesus and was prepared to stand before God. Are you ready for the trial of your life?

The story of what God has done in our lives is meant to be on our lips everywhere we go. In Acts 22 we will discover that Jesus called Paul to use his story to share God's story, and that he calls us to do the same.

Farewell speeches have the potential to inspire and instruct. In Acts 20, Paul offers some important words for how to live a faithful life for Jesus in this world.

In Acts 19, we find the Apostle Paul continuing his missionary work in the city of Ephesus. During his time there, the Holy Spirit used Paul’s faithfulness in the small things to accomplish big things for God’s Kingdom. But the biggest impact may have been what happens at the end of the chapter when the Holy Spirit convicted followers of Jesus to burn the very things that represented their hidden sins.

God is able to work through anyone who is willing and ready to be used by Him.

In Acts 17 the Apostle Paul arrived in a city where people weren’t just far from God – they were completely confused about who God is and what He is like. But instead of getting angry or shrugging his shoulders and walking away, he applied his perspective as a follower of Jesus to introduce them to “an unknown God” who had the power to give them eternal life.

It’s easy for us to think that many of the stories in the Old Testament are weird, obscure and unrelated. But, when we take a closer look at how the Old Testament is put together, we discover that it’s a collection of connected promises that are meant to help us understand the ancient past, make sense of chaos of today, and most importantly - point us to a the return of Jesus as God’s promised Messiah King!

Life is hard and we don’t always get what we want. It’s Ok to pray and tell God what you need. There are also incredible benefits to asking God to give you the feet you need for the journey.

Life has a way pulling us down and making us feel forgotten by God. In Genesis 37 we meet a young man named Joseph who was rejected by his brothers, sold into slavery, and put into prison. But even as his life continued to spiral downward, he began to learn that the Lord was with him, and would eventually use it all for his good and the good of his family.

God's plan almost never looks like our plan. There's too much suffering, too many loose ends. But if we trust him, and can see our lives as part of a larger story, we'll see he's always with us, and he's weaving a beautiful tapestry with our lives.

The true gospel is that our sins are forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ alone. False gospels add something, but nothing we do can make us right with God. Only faith in Jesus, trusting what He has done for us to reconcile us to God, makes us acceptable to God. True faith expresses itself in obedience to Jesus and being guided by the Holy Spirit, but the good deeds we do and the sin that we struggle with doesn’t change our standing with God. It’s our faith in Jesus alone.

It’s easy for us to allow the busyness and stress of life to define our perspective. The problem with that approach is that it tends to factor God out of the details and leaves us feeling alone and empty. In 1 Kings 19 we meet a man named Elijah who lost his perspective and needed God’s help to readjust his focus so he could see God at work in the highs and lows of life.

The story of Jonah is pretty well-known... at least the fish part. But even in Jonah's disobedience, we see an incredible story of a God who is faithful, even when we're not.

We live in a world that is obsessed with telling us to make a name for ourselves. However, the problem in making a name for ourselves is that it naturally leads us away from God. The biblical account of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 10 and 11 speak to this very issue and teaches us about God’s patience, love and grace towards us – even when we are tempted to make a name for ourselves apart from him.

Living the life we’re called to as a follower of Jesus is rarely easy. It requires choosing to trust Him enough to obediently follow His commands and His calls. In the story of Gideon we see what can happen when we take God at His word, and we also see why it’s so important that we remain connected with God.

Life is full of all sorts of giants, anything that brings fear and doubt into our lives. Our goal isn't to eliminate fear, but to find courage through the ONE who defeated the greatest giant of all.
