Since its debut in 1996, Tomb Raider has cemented itself as a cornerstone in not just the video game industry but in pop culture in general. In 2013, the first game in a new trilogy was released; it was simply titled Tomb Raider. Since this was a reboot, the game was an origin story for Lara.
