Ep 20Autism Research- if it is not finding the Cause, what is the purpose?

In this episode, we explore typical topics with Autism research and try to understand the purpose. Autism research is confounding, and maybe, lacks direction. We offer a research suggestion based on the most plausible cause of Autism- the new modern day environmental factor- Artificial Light. Remember, Autism just shows up, so it makes sense to send the mother and father back to an environment pre-Autism.Quantum Biology https://www.patreon.com/DrJackKruse/postsPhotobiological Implications of Folate https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2862485/B9 (folate) and B12 (cobalamin) are Photoreceptors, too.0:00 Autism Research Direction and missing the beginning; Is it Click-Bait?; Confounding3:30 Changes in Light and the Full Spectrum; the number of Genes involved with Autism Research5:07 Genetic Variants, Copy Number, Duplications, Deletions7:04 Gene-Envrionment Interaction; MTHFR; Methylation, Myelin13:03 Brain Connectivity and Neurobiology13:55 Socio-Environmental/Socioeconomic; Robert Sapolsky14:25 Early Diagnosis and Bio-markers14:47 Comorbid Conditions16:05 Personalized Interventions16:27 Medications and the PROFIT MILL18:36 Today's Purpose; Parental Melanin, Artificial Light, and nnEMF19:30 Research Idea with 3 Groups and Returning the Environment before Autism magically shows up25:17 Shift-Work Warning26:20 Back to Autism; Amish29:07 Reviews/Ratings, Contact InfoX: https://twitter.com/rps47586Hopp: hopp.bio/fromthespectrumemail: [email protected]

Ep 16Cause of Autism: Autism is a Modern Biological Adaptation to a Common Environmental Change- Light.

Autism just magically shows up."... I realized that all biochemistry is the bridesmaid to physics. I then realized that physics are how the business of cells gets completed. Light is the biophysical levers that control substrate level biochemistry in cells." - Dr. Jack Kruse(Start here) Regenerative Health with Dr. Max Gulhane and Dr. Jack Kruse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln3WszTq0uADecentralized is the way (The Status Quo is NO GOOD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO4JwdXuXXsTryptophan Biosynthesis https://faseb.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1096/fj.04-2079revAutism and Melanin https://www.patreon.com/posts/quantum-45-837245670:00 Introduction & Framing Podcast blends science, personal experience, and opinion to explain autism. Autism “appeared” around 1938 (Kanner/Asperger), with rates rising sharply. Parallels to post-1880s conditions (Alzheimer’s 1906, diabetes, obesity, ADHD) linked to electrification. 5:30 Central Thesis: Light as the Common Environmental Factor Light is the key environmental change. Pre-1880s: sunlight/fire (red/IR-rich). Modern: blue-heavy artificial light. Disrupts vitamin A/B/D, amino acids, water, melanin, melanopsin, POMC. 12:00 Cellular & Mitochondrial Mechanisms Blue light dehydrates cells, disrupts TCA cycle and ATP production. Mitochondria need red/NIR for oxygen-to-water conversion; blue causes hypoxia/stress. Universal cellular vulnerability explains issues without added toxins.19:00 Neuroplasticity & Autism as Adaptation Autism as extreme neuroplasticity adapting to light stress, like blind individuals repurposing visual cortex. 22:00 Lifespan Symmetry: Autism Dementia Autism and dementia rates mirror across lifespan. Both show early retinal damage. Artificial light at night exploded post-1940s, enabling 24/7 life at biological cost.26:00 Light Spectra Compared Sun: 250–3100 nm, 43–47% red/IR. Incandescent/fire: warm/red-dominant. LEDs: blue peak (460–480 nm). Indoor dim vs. outdoor bright. Vitamin D inverse with autism; lower rates near equator.31:00 Wavelength-Specific Benefits 37:00 The Unsung Hero Melanin absorbs all light to power biology and protect vs. stress/toxins. Neuromelanin links to Parkinson’s; autism raises Parkinson’s risk 3x. 48:00 Tryptophan → Serotonin → Melatonin Pipeline UVB activates tryptophan → serotonin → melatonin (95% mitochondrial). Blue light causes radicals, disrupts cells. Serotonin modulates development, sensory, gut58:00 Rapid brain growth needs optimal light. Autism disrupts cell migration, speech/motor/sensory. GABA switch vulnerable.1:07:00 B-Vitamins & UVB-dependent; blue disrupts folate/B12 for DNA methylation. 1:14:00 Autism rise coincides with electrification. More sunlight in pregnancy could reduce riskX: https://twitter.com/rps47586Email: [email protected]

Ep 14Autism and the Salience Network, and topics to prepare for a future episode about Sex-and-Diagnosis Differences and the Nucleus Accumbens (NAc)

We expand on a critical network discussed in the Autism and Adaptive Responses episode. The biology that gives us Autism, gives us a condition the outside world is chaotic. The trade off is our inner world is comfortable. See criteria B.3. The Salience Network is used to determine what we send our attention to as we orient ourselves with the outside world. You can see this in Autism versus Non-Autism. Autistics orient to single objects or single interests more than multiple objects or interests. That's Criteria B of Autism- Restricted, Repetitive Interests, Behaviors, or Activities. In Autism, the Salience Network connects to different regions compared to Non-Autism, and this is shown at Six-Weeks-Old. And, this implicates our Social Attention and Social Motivation. Remember Hans Aspergers called the children "little professors" because Autism provides a path of Superpowers based on those fixated interests that are "abnormal in intensity or focus."Covered Here. Ep 10Autism and Anxiety

In this episode, we discuss biology of anxiety, responses from anxiety, and common situations causing anxiety with Autism. The stress response system of the body is very finite and the nervous system reflexively responds based on what it knows. A few biological components of anxiety include the amygdala, bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST), and the spine. Common responses to anxiety include avoidance, shifts in physiology, and valance, or how we feel about the situation. To end, we have a lengthy discussion on some common sources of anxiety. Ep 8Autism and Education

In this episode, we discuss Autism and Education. We explore some current condition within education and some personal experiences. Specifically, the school day is in complete conflict with Autism- both Criteria A and B. This is the primary factor with the challenges of Autism in Education. The classroom requires a Social Dynamic, a Speech and Language Dynamic, and Sensory-Processing Dynamic, which is 3 strikes against Autism. Ep 7What is Autism: Part 2 of Criteria B: Will the so-called normal people accept our "differences," or Not?

Criteria B is Autism. Hans Aspergers called the children with the syndrome "little professors." This is Autism. Our routines and fixated interests. Autism gives us the ability to be comfortable within ourselves, and this accelerates our abilities, our Superpowers. How will society handle these so-called "differences" and the conflict within the so-called "normal" people? In this episode, we expand to real-life examples of Criteria B components and review some personal experiences.Dopamine Nation (Pleasure and Pain SeeSaw) https://www.annalembke.comhttps://www.templegrandin.com/templegrandinbooks.html(0:00) Intro; Autism is Criteria B, how will society handle "differences," those differences create conflict in others, stimulus-response, conflict, and comfort(4:44) Routines (B2) and Plans, Exact Planning, Plan versus Actual Time and Execution, Reality meets our Visualized Thinking; Pleasure and Pain SeeSaw; More Relationship Struggles Implicated by Criteria B,(9:01) Punctual- for others and ourselves; Bias yourself into Action; Understanding the need for Breaks; Others take the easy way out; get Sunlight for our Biology(12:34) Personal Experience and a Glimpse into an Autistic Thought; Traffic Spacing(16:33) Researching Items and Fixated Interests (B3); personal experience; Hans Aspergers and his Little Professors- This is Autism!(20:40) Other examples- Pant Sizes and Alpha instead of Numerical, Restaurant Rant, Never Underestimate a Human's Capacity to Think; Don't try to change Autism because it is offends you- offends your expectations and beliefs(23:12) Reviews and Ratings and Contact Information

Ep 6What is Autism: Part 2 of Criteria A- Can you fit in, or Not? Are you like the so-called "normal" people, or Not?

Don't try to change an Autistic Person because they are "different" than you. In this episode, we explore more examples of Criteria A- Deficits in Social Communication and Interaction. Yay, more DSM-5-TR. Can you fit in, or not? Are you like the so-called "normal" people, or not? This episode is highlighted by personal experiences and examples. Plus, I have three jokes. The examples and episode is not exhaustive, however, I try to capture some of the conditions on the spectrum. There are lots of examples in our social world that just does not make sense, and we like to say, "that does not make sense."See Jack Kruse, Quantum Engineering 45(0:00) Introduction; Crude Symptoms intend to capture the Spectrum; Can you fit in, or not? Ep 5Part 2: Excitation / Inhibition Imbalance with Autism and Metabolic "Bank" Account and Demands, and Background Biology

In Part 2 of the Excitation and Inhibition phenomena, we discuss Metabolic "bank" account and demands of navigating the social world. We discuss if we have enough resources or if we will run a metabolic deficits (think burnout and avoidance, and social isolation). We cover NMDA and AMPA and different Autistic Phenotypes. In addition, we review Neuromodulators, which are vast in our biology and determine how and where to direct our attention and energy. Lastly, we discuss the medial Prefrontal Cortex and how it integrates the "self" with the outside world.Don't try to change an Autistic person because they are different than you or different than others. Ep 4Part 1: Excitation / Inhibition Imbalance with Autism and Development, Melanin, Melanopsin, and BDNF

In this episode, we discuss the Excitation and Inhibition Phenomena in Autism. There are many biological aspects implicating the E/I balance, and the Nervous System needs a healthy balance. This episode extends slightly downstream of the Genetic and Protein implications previously discussed. We discuss cortical and subcortical areas, sensations, introduce Glutamate and GABA, and discuss the critical period. The critical period is, pardon the pun, a critical period for Autism. In addition, we discuss BDNF and introduce neuroplasticity. Finally, we discuss Melanin and Melanopsin and sunlight and modern light, and the vast implications from our new environment. To end, we connect many modern diseases to these biological factors.See Dr. Jack Kruse Quantum Engineering 45Email: [email protected]

Ep 3Common Genetic and Proteins Associated with Autism, and I play Tug-of-War with Barbed-Wire

In this episode, we discuss common genetic and proteins implicated with Autism. This episode is all about preparing for a future episode about Excitation and Inhibition imbalance- a known phenomena with Autism. I play Tug-of-War with Barbed-Wire and talk about a critical factor of our environment implicating proteins and development- This is huge, and necessary. Ep 2What is Autism: Deficits in Social Communication and Interaction

In today's episode, we discuss Criteria A in the DSM-5-TR, which involves social communication and interaction. We discuss various aspects of the social world including unpredictableness, sensory processing being overwhelmed from the rapid firehose of information, being a student in a classroom, empathy, and are Autistic's being changed instead of cultivated into their own unique gifts (or Superpowers).Autism and Empathy https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8484273/https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9804307/More from CNTNAP-2 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5723386/https://www.cell.com/fulltext/S0092-8674(11)01010-5Sir Simon Baron-Cohen https://www.psychol.cam.ac.uk/people/simon-baron-cohenTemple Grandin https://www.templegrandin.comDeisseroth on Socialness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOWnf1BpkGsDSM (don't get hitched on this book) https://www.psychiatry.org/psychiatrists/practice/dsm(0:00) Introduction;(2:12) A1; don't change others just because; joining conversation; unpredictableness, protection, sensory processing and sounds blending; firehose of information;(15:11) A2; don't change others just because pt. 2 and ABA therapy; interests are easier for all; challenges in the classroom and mental effort;(21:09) A3; challenges with play as a child; strict rule adherence; imaginative play, even when good, is bad; fits and tantrums; speech and peers; empathy- emotional versus cognitive- ASD is better at emotional empathy; supplementing relationships later in life with small talk; relationships are hard!(31:32) Leo Kanner correction- Nervous Child, not Pathology- Pathology section in Nervous Child;(31:54) Final Thoughts; contact information and reaching out to meEmail- [email protected]
