Hello friends and welcome to friends of Disney where we are friends who talk about Disney. Today’s episode we are talking about the Disney channel original movie Starstruck. Starstruck, a Disney Channel original movie released in 2010, follows Jessica Olson (Danielle Campbell), a Michigan resident visiting Los Angeles to see her grandmother with her sister Sara. However, her trip takes an unexpected turn when she becomes entangled in the whirlwind life of pop star Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight). Despite their growing connection, a major conflict arises when Christopher abruptly distances himself from Jessica, ostensibly to shield her from the perils of Hollywood. Starstruck has garnered significant recognition as an iconic Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM). It has even been featured in Ms. Mojo’s list of the “Top 10 Best Teen Movie Musicals.” The movie’s soundtrack boasts several hit songs, including the title track “Starstruck” and “Something About the Sunshine.”

Hello friends and welcome to friends of Disney where we are friends who talk about Disney. We are continuing with the suite life of Zack and Cody this week with episode 11 “catch a thief”. Episode 11 of Zack and Cody was released June 18, 2005 and is a fairly simple episode. There is a jewel thief in the Tipton and the Boston authorities believe that one of the staff is the culprit and their prime suspect is Mr. Esteban Julio Ricardo de la Rosa Ramirez. in light of this Zack and Cody work to find the real thief but after playing “the boy who cried wolf” Zack and Cody struggle to find an adult who believes in who the real thief is.

Welcome to friends of Disney where we are friends who talk about Disney! Today’s episode is about the 1977 vintage Disney classic “Candleshoe”. Candle shoe was released in December of 1977 and is about an orphan in LA named Casey who gets picked up by an English con artist to trick and steal the infamous treasure of pirate captain Joshua st. Edmund which was hidden at the candle shoe estate in England. To find the treasure Casey must pretend to be the missing granddaughter of lady st. Edmund and solve the clues to the treasures whereabouts nut can she hold this facade before growing to care and enjoy the company of candle shoe? Dont forget to support by following us!

Hello Friends of Disney welcome back! today we are onto the episode 10 of the suite life of zack and cody. This episode is among the most famous Zack and Cody episodes as it is where millennials and Gen-z learn about the PRNDL and is a common joke amongst those generations. Cody gets to go to math camp for the summer which in turn leaves zack feeling pretty lonely and misses Cody (not that he would admit it) while this is happening London is growing in life and is starting to learn how to drive but learns driving is not an easy thing to do, especially with Mr.Moseby teaching you

Hello Friends of Disney today’s episode is about Zack and Cody episode 9 titled “Band in Boston”. Hold onto your hats because this episode is about a battle of the bands competition being held at the Tipton and as expected the twins, Maddie and London are all participating. Things go awry for Zack and cody when they have a fight in their band that lead to them almost losing the competition and we cut to Maddie and London where Maddie continues to be endlessly judgmental over London and her participation with her band. This episode is a lot of fun especially for band kids like Jonell and Shawn!

Merry Christmas, friends of Disney! Today, we’re diving into the sequel to last week’s episode, Mickey’s TWICE upon a Christmas!! Released in 2004, Mickey’s Twice upon a Christmas is an anthology of five ales that follow Mickey and his friends as they learn valuable life lessons during the Christmas season. Hello, friends of Disney! Join us today as we delve into the much-anticipated sequel, Moana 2! Moana 2 was released in theaters last week, and is set just 3 years after the original movie. Moana, our beloved protagonist, continues her quest to find the other islands her people sailed to. However, a new clue on a distant island leads her on a perilous journey to unite the people of the ocean. With the help of our favorite demigod, Maui, Pua, HeiHei, and other villagers from her village, Moana embarks on this epic adventure. Moana 2 is a sequel to the Disney animated movie Moana, released in 2016. Auli’i Cravalho reprises her role as Moana, while Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui and Alan Tudyk voices HeiHei. The music for Moana was composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, while the sequel’s music was written by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, known for their work on the unofficial Bridgeton musical. They even won a Grammy in 2022 for Best Musical Theater Album and penned the song “Mexican Pizza: The Musical for Taco Bell.” Moana 2 has a lot to live up to, given the immense success of its predecessor. To celebrate the wonderful transition period from halloween to Christmas what better movie to talk about than the Nightmare before Christmas Directed by Tim Burton!! Nightmare before Christmas was released in 1993 . This movie is about the Pumpkin king Jack Skellington as he struggles with an identity crisis about trying to be more than the same old pumpkin king and finds himself in the wonderful world of Christmas town and becomes determined to make Christmas his new holiday. Nightmare before Christmas is a notable film that is beloved by many around the halloween season. The movie is made using claymation so the character were all made from clay models that would be posed to make a single scene and a picture would be taken of that scene so the whole movie is comprised of thousands of individual pictures to create a smooth timeline of the movie. This movie received numerous award nominations including a golden globe and an Oscar. One of the notable traits of this movie is its opening song “this is halloween” which has become a staple among millennials and gen z around halloween time and the all star cast of Catherine o’hard, Danny Elfman and Ken page who voiced Sally, Jack and Oogie Boogie respectively. Happy Halloween Friends of Disney!! to finish out our spooky season series we are onto the last movie in the Disney Halloweentown franchise, Return to Halloweentown!! This movie is about a now graduated Marnie as she goes to college in Halloweentown but being on her own in college isn't everything she thought it was and her grandmas past is now coming back to haunt her as she is tasked to fulfill a prophecy that may or may not save halloweentown...AGAIN. While we get to see character we know and love like Grandma Aggie, Dylan and Marnie's Mom Gwen. Marnie is portrayed by a different actress since Kimberly J Brown had some scheduling conflicts so Sara Paxton took on the role of Marnie Piper (not so well) Return to Halloweentown marks the end of the halloweentown franchise but the franchise remains to be a strong staple for every Halloween season loved by many. Today is Megan's last episode before her maternity leave so as a special episode we are gonna be doing one of her favorite movies Cinderella 3 a twist in time!!Cinderella 3 was released straight to DVD that was released in 2007 and is supposed to take place after the events of Cinderella 2 ( we personally disagree). This completely original story brought lots of talent since its been many years since the first cinderella movie such as Susanne Blakeslee (known from Fairly odd parents) to play Lady Tremaine and Jennifer Hale as Cinderella.This Movie, despite being a direct to video sequel, brought many things to the world of cinderella. It gave Lady Tremaine a better villain arc compared to the original movie. Anastasia, one of the step sister was also set up to receive her redemption for the 2nd movie and this movie brought on some really funny songs that get stuck in your head. Its self awareness of how dated the first movie provide much needed comic relief and really stretches the characters we know and love. Hello Friends!! today in our video Jonell and Shawn get into a deep conversation about Disney studios' The Chronicles of Narnia: The lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. "The lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" released into theater in December 9th, 2005 and is based upon the iconic book series "The Chronicles of Narnia" written by C.S Lewis who is both a British writer and Anglican Christian Theologian. The movie version was directed by Andrew Adamson who is also known for popular movies such as the Shrek franchise and Puss in boots. This movie contains multiple headliner actors such as Liam Neeson as the great lion Aslan and Tilda Swinton as Jadis the White Witch and is also the first of 3 movies to be created by Disney in the Narnia Universe. Narnia was a very ambitious project for the Walt Disney Company to pursue with other box office hits such as harry potter and the lord of the rings, Disney aimed to join on the fantasy world pool to create the narnia franchise. This movie had a budget of 180,000,000 and to date has produced $291,710,957 proving that it was a box office success and led to the creation of the 2 other subsequent films. Hello Friends today we are gonna be talking about the Disney+ original movie Phineas and Ferb Candace against the Universe! Candace against the universe is a Disney+ original movie that released in 2020 during the COVID-19 global Pandemic, about 5 years after the end of the Phineas and Ferb TV series. This movie starred Disney Channel Alums Ashley Tisdale playing Candace Flynn and Allison Stoner playing Isabella. Dan Povenmire who is one of the movies creators also plays the infamous Doctor doofernshmirtz and is also known for other animated series such as Milo Murphy's law, Hamster and Gretel and Spongebob Squarepants. This Movie has many fun songs in it such as the opener "its such a beautiful day", "Adulting" sung by Doofernshmirtz and Chop away at my heart. in 2021 this movie got nominated for 2 daytime Emmy awards, one for the song "its such a beautiful day" and the other was for best writing team for a children's tv show where it ended up winning that category. Welcome Friends of Disney, today we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of another Disney Renaissance classic The Lion King. The Lion King released 30 years ago in 1994 and starred well known actors such as James Earl Jones, Matthew Broderick, Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Jeromy Irons and Jim Cummings. With Music by Hans Zimmer and Elton John, The Lion King won 2 oscars for best original song and Best original score. Lion King also won 2 golden globes in the same categories and won a 3rd golden globe for best musical. The Lion King has been such a success for the Walt Disney Company it has gone on to be produced into a broadway musical, remade into a live action movie that was released in 2019, had a spin off tv show called Timon and Pumba, a Disney Junior tv series called the lion guard and also had a direct to video sequel "lion king 2 Simba's Pride" and Lion king 1 1/2. Hello Friends! Today we are doing another Live action vs Animation talking about the 1991 and 2017 Disney classic Beauty and the Beast! Beauty and the Beast originally released in 1991 by Disney Animation Studios and starred notable actors such as Paige O'Hara as Belle, Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts, Richard White as Gaston and Robby Benson as the Beast. The 1991 Disney classic also went on to win multiple awards such as an Oscar for best song/music and golden globes for best motion picture, best song and best score. Music in the the Animated movie was written by Alan Menken (who also returned for the live action) and Howard Ashman who died months before the release of the movie and was then dedicated to him for "giving a mermaid a voice and a beast his soul". In 2017 Disney remade this Disney masterpiece into a live action movie starring Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts. The live action version of the movie wielded some mixed reviews from fans due to Disneys noticeable pattern of remaking a lot of their animated classics but was able to obtain a 71% on the tomato meter by rotten tomatos and an overall 80% for the audience score. These movies both are strong versions of such a compelling love story so come join us as we talk about the differences between the movies and where the shortcomings lie. Descendants 3 was released in 2019 as the finale of the original descendants movies and takes place after the events of the 4th book in the series escape from the isle of the lost. Just like its predecessors, Descendants 3 follows Mal, Jay, Evie and Carlos and the rest of their friends during an interesting time of change. Mal, Evie and Jay all graduated from Aurodon prep. Mal is prepping to (eventually) become queen, Jay is planning to go to sherwood university, Evie's clothing business is taking off and Carlos still has a year of school left with Jane. During this time of change, Uma still hasnt been found since escaping from the isle and bewitching Ben at cotillion as seen in the 2nd movie on top of that, Evie is pushing for Ben to bring more VK's (villain kids) to Aurodon to get a 2nd chance but some in aurodon who have long hated the VKs dont want to see the barrier open any more than it has been already and some despise seeing the existing VKs flourish.
