Faith is trusting God. Doubt is trusting the world. Faith and doubt are the same substance. The substance of your life is so much more powerful when it's under Jesus and under His word. Our Downtown Manhattan tag team preached this Sunday about celebrating others and putting their joy and successes above our own as we carry a culture of second fiddle. When we create a kingdom culture that is devoted to uplifting and serving others, we create a world that glorifies God.

When we yield in the right heart to serve others for Christ we generate peace in our lives, when we yield to others out of our own ambition we are left with a selfish residue in our lives. Let our lives reflect His love as we pour out, serve and unify together to reach this city. This Sunday, 3 team members in Bushwick preached on the culture of playing second fiddle as we serve others and serve our city.

When we serve, we are setting ourselves up to bless others and to give God all the glory when our heart and eyes are focused on Him. When we are committed to our purpose as serving God and building His kingdom we are rewarded by seeing the joy in others lives. As we example this heart and culture in our lives we will create a space of humility, unity and love for the world around us.

We all desire to pray and read the word, but oftentimes it can seem difficult and confusing. Prayer and reading is a gift from God and is meant to be joyous and transformative in our every day life. What would it look like if we changed our perspective on how we talk to God and hear from God on a regular basis? This Sunday, Pastor Ryan Schlachter preached on the culture of prayer and the word.

Culture is what we are devoted to. Culture is our values being lived out in our day to day. Sex was designed by God and it was created from the beginning to represent His love and character for humanity. This Sunday, we continued our Relationships Series with Pastor Josh Kelsey preaching on the topic, PURE SEX. Genesis 2:24-25 teaches us that sex was created by God to be shame-free and full of intimacy within marriage. When we pursue our relationships God's way, our souls will be whole and fulfilled.

Guest Pastor Gini Smith preached this Mother's Day on the seasons of life we will walk through. We all live in time and seasons and will find that seasons come and seasons go, but Jesus works through whatever season you are going through. Guest Pastor Wendy Perez preached this Mother's Day on the joy in our trials out of James 1. Jesus reveals that the way to be a friend is to become a servant, but the way to become a servant is becoming a friend of Jesus. This Sunday, Pastor Josh Kelsey kicked off our RELATIONSHIPS series with a wisdom-packed message on healthy relationships in our lives. All good relationships flow out of our soul. The health of our soul will determine the health of our relationships.

The prerequisite to experiencing the freedom of God in your life is honesty and vulnerability. Jesus is looking for you and I to be honest. He wants honesty, not perfection. It will always lead you back to an empty tomb and a risen Lord and his name is Jesus. For it is God who works in us, both to will and to do for His good pleasure. The promise of Jesus and what He wants in your life is joy. His joy is unending and when we stay connected to Him and abide in Him we receive everything He has for us. There's a rest in your soul that can only be found in Jesus. He is our rest and our refuge when we look to Him. We can be rid of fear when we look to Him as the highest in our lives and our place of refuge.

The number one thing that's going to change you in 2019 is not your circumstance getting better, it's spending time in the presence of God. This past Sunday, Pastor Filmore Bouldes preached on God always having time for us. When we spend time with God He changes our soul, identity and what we love.

Dream bigger. If your dream was fulfilled today, what impact would it have on the future generation? This past Dream Sunday, Pastor Filmore Bouldes preached a message on dreaming in faith for all God will do in 2019. Let's be specific with our dreams. We tend to have vague dreams because we fear disappointment, but God wants us to get specific with our dreams. Dreaming with specificity, is trusting God to be faithful.

God doesn't invade our lives, He comes by invitation. This past Sunday, guest Pastor Phil Pringle leader and founder of the C3 Movement preached a powerful message on making room for God in this Christmas season. Make Jesus your one thing that you pursue. He's not a threat to your dreams.

The reason we can live without fear is because God is with us. This past Sunday, Pastor Josh Kelsey preached a message of faith from the perspective of Mary from Luke 1. From Mary's faith we we see that it's the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to carry Jesus, not more of our effort. Whatever we are facing, let's place our expectation on something He promises to do. His word will not fail us.

As we end this year as team C3 let's look to the water, to the source in Jesus Christ and dig a new well. Don't stop digging, there is living water below the dirt and in every place you dig a well the world around it will be blessed. In 2019, wherever it takes you dig another well. Jesus is your source. He is your living water.

Hope is not optimism, but a promise. God desires to take us from hopelessness and despair to joy. This past Sunday, Pastor Luis Guerrero preached a message kicking off our Advent series on HOPE. Our hope is dependent on the person of Jesus. When our hope is based on something other than Jesus, it becomes unreliable. When we look to Jesus as our hope we can look back and see His faithfulness in our past and trust that He has secured our future.

When you see God how He wants to be seen, you will see yourself how He sees you and that will change everything about your life. This past Sunday, guest speaker Dan Lian preached a powerful message on the love of our Father. Since the beginning of time God has been desperately desirous of showing us who He is and our identity as His children. We become children of God when we rest in His love and receive His grace.
