Ep 82Episode 082 Psychedelic Panther Festival (2022) "Would You Rather"
EPsychedelic Panther Festival 2022 at Main At South Side. It was an absolute honor to be included in the first annual Psychedelic Panther Festival in Fort Worth Texas at M.A.S.S . In this episode we experiment with a new recording environment. Carefully positioned between a loud generator and a crowd of very talkative event patrons, we attempt to conduct multiple recordings with musicians in between sets. Hopefully the ambient noise isn't too annoying for the listeners. All things considered this was an incredible event. Joe Guzman did an excellent job putting together this festival with the help of Fort Worths artistic community. The turn out was far greater than anyone had anticipated and buy any metric Psycadelic Panther knocked it out of the park! A very sincere thank you to everyone that contributed to the success of this event. A special thank you to Ryan Higgs (Managing Partner) and the rest of the awesome staff at Main At South Side. Ryan Higgs, thank you for providing us with space at M.A.S.S so that we could interact with the public and be part of this badass event!!! We've recorded episodes in the Fort Worth Stockyards, many homes and offices, we've traveled all over the DFW area, and now currently we have set up shop in Austin Texas at the foot of the Hill Country. Its always been the purpose of the show to be a true mobile podcast with a mobile podcast studio. While we grow the show and continue to make friends, we are in the process of what one of our guests calls "bridge building". Simply put, bridge building is the process of working on your dreams while maintaining your day job! Andrew Turner, the host of Fort Worth Roots, is no stranger to the perils of being in business for himself. His first business was a landscape design business that landed him a role on HGTV with Andy and Ashley Williams on the show " Flip or Flop Fort Worth. Andrew and his little company appeared on 6 episodes of the show. This was the first time he had been part of a production this size. Eventually the show was finished filming and two years later Andrew left the world of landscape design. With experience in a dozen or more industries Andrew finds it easy to connect with almost all of his guests. The show continues to evolve and change with each episode. Bringing more interesting content to every recording is the goal and maintaining a feel of authenticity is paramount. We hope you enjoy the show and, we would love to hear from you! Eventually the show was finished filming and two years later Andrew left the world of landscape design. Ep 50Episode 050 Jeffery Smith, Owner of Downtown Cowtown At The Isis Theatre
EJeffery and Debbie Smith, the owners of Downtown Cowtown At The Isis Theatre, have spent almost five years restoring an all but forgotten piece of Fort Worth history. In 1914 the 400 seat Isis Theatre opened its doors to the public. This beautiful building was destroyed by fire in 1935 when a projector malfunctioned and set the Isis ablaze. Rebuilt and reopened in 1933 and then again devastated by a deadly flood in 1949. The theatre was again restored and continued to operate until 1988 when the building was showing signs of age and then basically abandoned. For almost 30 years the theatre sat idle and continued to fall apart. Then in 2016 a visionary couple took it upon themselves to bring the Isis back from the grave. The restoration process took nearly five long years and enhancement projects still continue to this day. Now, Downtown Cowtown At The Isis Theatre is finally open! With live entertainment on the weekends and classic films playing on screen during the week. If you don't have time for a show simply pop in for a drink at one of the two speakeasy style bars open seven days a week until midnight. On December 16th and 17th the theatre will be throwing a big party that you can be apart of : Grand opening Gala starts at 6pm.
