First Issue Club Comic Books

This episode talk about Power Girls new solo title penned by Leah Williams coming out in September, preview the titles of some "Dark" What-if issues on the horizon from Marvel, highlight a couple comic shops in the news, and Mike D gets a emotional a couple times about comics. All that before we round up some of our favorite first issues we read this week.

This week we're back doing what we always do! Talking comics and comic book stuff. To be more specific, in this one we're highlighting changes to CGC plans and pricing, the debut of Scarlett Scarab from Marvel, a warning from First Issue Club to be nice to Zeb Wells if he kills someone off that you like in the next ASM, and side tangents galore! Immortal X-Men is out by Kieron Gillen. It launches a new look at the Quit Council of X-men. In news SDCC is taking it to the big leauges in their franchise adventures. Also Longshot is going to return!

Ghost Cage from Nick Dragotta comes to image and it's jam packed with all the best sh*t a comic can contain. Rob Leifeld is up to his weird antics again, Ed Pisker is making weird variants, Behemoth Publishing got optioned and Paul Dano is writing a new comic for D.C. It's all the comic book news that matters, in a pod.

Dark Horse Comics is Acauired by a videogame company. Ms. Marvel released a trailer to let us know what the series will be like, and some fans aren't happy - good thing is though...they are wrong. We cover Slumber out on Image. This book is a can't miss, show stopper of a first issue. New author Tyler Burton Smith along side Vanessa Cardinali providing stunning artwork! It's horror, noir, art house, etc - all the words you want in indie comics it has them.

We're so excited Saga is back (with issue #55 after a hiatus that seemed to last forever), so we're devoting an entire episode to just this book.
